Howard Fischer is the owner and lead designer of HOWARD FISCHER DESIGN, a company that offers RENOVATION + INTERIOR DESIGN services for personal residences as well as helping homeowners and realtors in preparing their homes for the real estate marketing process. Our renovation process works with the bones of the house or the bones a room. Howard works with original detail and figures out how to meet the clients needs, and can work with your existing contractors or bring other contractor to the project. Our interior design services are planning, layout, organization and furnishing of an architectural interior. Most people come to design project with existing furniture, art, and things they like. Howard's goal is to utilize existing items with new items; the result is beautiful livable home, not just a high-end looking space. Interior finishes usually includes color selection, countertops, tile, window coverings to name a few. This part makes all the difference in a completed project. Howard often works with Homeowners or Developers that have a nearly complete house or condo. Our interior staging services work with an unfurnished house or improperly furnished House to be more appealing to buyers. Howard can start with an empty house, or a house that needs a few pieces here and there. Either way the results is a house that will be dramatically more appealing.

I first collaborated with Howard in the year 2000. I was privileged to live in a building he renovated. His style is tasteful and elegant but functional. He's equally as charming a person as he is a designer. His knowledge and understanding of old Kansas City and its remarkable architecture is unparalleled. He brings all of this to the table with a huge inventory of resources and a clear eye for detail. Although I've had a number of residences since, This project was a favorite.

I met Howard in 2017 and he has done multiple projects for me. This man is a genius! He is an expert in design and has so much experience and knowledge in his field I would never work with anyone else. Whether you just want a room redesigned or need to start from scratch he is willing to work with you. He also is conscientious of your budget and works with all client levels. He is my friend, and I will continue to find projects to keep this person in my life!

Howard has been indispensable as a consultant in the design of both my chiropractic clinic and my home space. His choices of materials, colors and composition always prove to be pleasing, relaxing, elegant, refined and timeless yet never stodgy. He has a particular talent for creating a marriage of the traditional with what I would call a retro-avant-guarde feel resulting in spaces that are artistic, even fun, yet dignified. He combines the old with the new in a way that assures any space will never be transient but pleasant and interesting for years to come. One might say Mid Century Modern American meets British Classicism tempered with a sense for what is current yet non-transitory. I have learned to save time and money by always consulting with Howard first. what more can I say, I love his work?

A true detailed oriented professional. Howard coordinated all design aspects of our 72 unit multifamily re-positioning project. From reworking the interior layout to expand closets, include washer/dryers, choosing all colors, fixtures, and appliances, exterior colors and landscape. Our mid-century Brentwood home is fabulous! Howard has transformed what many would say could not have been salvaged. He has a genuine love of design and his talents in this capacity will exceed even the most discriminating expectations. Howard literally saved our home, by helping us "bring back" it's mid-century character. Through careful analysis and a keen eye, Howard intuitively knew what should stay and what should go. In most cases he saved rooms that we were told by other designers needed to be torn apart! He accomplished this by simply changing the color and a few fixtures! Howard is a color genius with an eye for detail like no one I haver ever seen. He finds the diamonds in the rough and makes them shine. Yes he is to good to be true. But most importantly he genuinely cares about his clients, their personal aesthetics, and their homes. Thank you Howard from the bottom of our hearts.
