Welcome to Hillcrest Carpentry - a locally owned carpentry and wood working business in the Lake Norman, Huntersville, Denver NC and surrounding area. We offer a unique and specific line of carpentry services such as custom furniture and custom built ins, along with completely open communication so that our client is involved every step of the way. Our outlook on every project is to first understand the ideas of the homeowner and provide them with various options of cost and design so that we may give them the highest quality possible at a reasonable price. My name is Mike McGinnis, owner and operator of Hillcrest Carpentry. I love doing custom carpentry and wood working projects. Now that I have spent 15 years in home renovation and improvement, I want to use my years of learning and experience to bring a fresh, modern style to the resident homes around the Lake Norman area.

I hired Mike from Hillcrest Carpentry to build a built-in for the dining room. Mike was professional from the start gaining a understanding of the project, providing a clear plan and a detailed proposal. Mike's attention to detail was evident, he did everything he said he was going to do. The installation went very well and the finished product exceeded expectations. Very happy that I chose Hillcrest Carpentry and will certainly invite Mike back as other projects come up.

Mike recently completed 2 projects for me and I am so very happy with the results. The first was a custom look door and trim for a home office. Throughout the process Mike used a consultative approach to show us different door styles, stain and trim options. He communicated on the progress of the door order and even sent pictures when the stain was applied from his shop. The second project was a screen door installation. Mike took the time to see some additional bracing was needed to install properly. Mike's professionalism, communication and pride in work really show through! I am already looking for additional ways to work with Mike to add value, style and function to my home.

Exceeded expectations! In most cases after hiring a professional I've been left feeling I could have done a better job on my own. Thankfully that wasn't the case with Hillcrest. I decided to contract my kitchen and powder room renovation out due to a lack of time & proper tools. Mike is as good as it gets and has an attention to detail that matches mine. From taking down existing walls and demo, to installing custom cabinets and backsplash, he took my entire project from start to finish. He is knowledgable, punctual, trustworthy, and in my opinion very reasonably priced when taking into consideration the quality he delivers. I've got a few other projects planned and Hillcrest will without a doubt be the company for the job.
