Habitat Roche

My project started with a vanilla 1951 house. It had old world charm, but was bland. Habitat Roche assisted with paint, window coverings, lighting and furniture selection. Laura took the house from bland to stunningly gorgeous. She helped me realize my dream of combining old with new - old world charm with modern and comfortable furnishings using striking and bold patterns. It was the perfect balance of serene and elegant. I love working with Laura, because she is patient, listens, understands I need time to make decisions and, most importantly, she has impeccable taste and resourcing. She also referred me to the very best contractors and installers. I knew my home was perfectly appointed, because it felt like ME and felt like HOME. I am working with Laura on our second home project. It is on a more modest budget and yet she is helping me achieve the same lovely results. We are even reusing some items and it's coming together wonderfully! She is not afraid to go funky and bold and yet can make the most traditional designs come together in a unique way. Five stars just not enough!

We first reached out to Laura on a recommendation from our Builder for our new home. We had already engaged an architect and had a good floor plan, but really needed someone to help us pull it all together during the initial planning phase. If you have attempted a large remodel or built a new home, you know how overwhelming it can be, especially when you are going with an entirely new design style. Laura listened to our ideas, thoroughly reviewed our plans and helped us fill in the blanks. She was a part of interior decisions and exterior decisions. As it turned out, our plans had much room for interpretation and some big gaps. Laura developed drawings to help us visualize these important details. One of the first things she did was test fit furniture to our floor plans to make sure the rooms met our needs. Then she presented us with recommendations for materials, lighting, fixtures and cabinetry. She helped us work with some very high-end materials and also found some beautiful cost effective alternatives. We were especially happy with how she patiently worked with our children to make their bedrooms/bathrooms the spaces they will love for many years to come. Laura also suggested some unique design ideas in this stage that we love and make our home truly one of a kind. Immediately after construction began, she worked on the furnishings package. She provided great options in alignment with our budget and provided some upgraded selections for key areas including fabrics and window treatments. We were able to make decisions during the presentation and easily adjust a few others. Laura stayed with us throughout the entire project. She made it easy. We have been in our home for just over a year now, and we truly love it! We love to entertain and use each and every inch.

It is with great pleasure that I write this recommendation for Habitat Roche. I have worked with Laura at Habitat Roche since 2006 and we have collaborated and worked together on several projects since then. Laura is an excellent Interior Designer, with a keen regard to details and finishes. She has always been great to work with and I look forward to working with her again!

I hired Laura Roach, of Habitat Roche, to design and decorate my new Makeup Store on Post Oak Blvd here in Houston TX. I had my first store for 15 years and loved it, but wanted something spectacular and completely different. Somehow, she got inside my mind, and figured out how to interpret 'Palm Springs in the mid-60's on the way to Vegas' and keep it modern and entirely unique! It was not an easy job as we totally built from scratch...only a cement slab...but the finished result is breathtaking and won her a special design prize! It was such a glorious collaboration, I used her to remodel/decorate every single room in an outdated house I bought not long after that...completely different style and vibe, but again, just exquisite, and oh, so comfortable!! Her attention to detail is so, so appreciated and a lost art...and my NEXT job for her will be in finding and redoing the perfect Beach House for me in the near future!!
