We hired Rancho Santa Fe Craftsman to build our custom dream home. The home is a Monterey style adaptation of Spanish Revival style combined with features of the Colonial Revival. They demolished the home down to the studs and saved about 50% of the original walls while adding on 3600 feet and added a second story mirador. Our major home remodeling project encountered a number of difficulties due to anomalies in the original structure. These craftsmen stood out with their great problem solving skills. The owners, Greg and Jim, constantly value engineered the project. When possible, they devised innovative solutions to several problems saving us a substantial amount of money. Both Greg and Jim worked tirelessly with the architect and interior designer to get our home exactly right. No question or concern was ever left unaddressed. And the real kicker here, one of them was always on the job site watching every move. In addition Greg answered his phone almost every time I called and if he didn’t he would get back to me within minutes. Be it a skilled tradesman or someone in the office, everyone was professional, knowledgeable, pleasant and courteous. Before they started the project, they sent out a letter to all the neighbors informing them that if any concerns or complaints should arise, they would do their absolute best to accommodate the issue, very Classy! These guys took a difficult project and turned it into a fun and exciting experience. They were on time, on budget and above all else, honest, which was a hugely important factor for us. Anyone who has ever remodeled or built a home from scratch knows how difficult it can be to find a top notch reliable contractor whom takes great pride in their work. Sadly one of the dirty secrets in this industry, usually unbeknownst to the client, is companies can cut corners and take shortcuts to beef up their bottom line. Mr Rossignol would never allow for this as he oversees every single detail of every single step in the building process. He builds perfect homes and literally will settle for "nothing " less. When Greg stated that he strived for all his clients to be “clients for life” he meant it!! We strongly recommended Rancho Santa Fe Craftsman to friends and family and would certainly use them again if we ever build another house. They are simply the Best. Rancho Santa Fe Craftsman built our current home, and will build our future homes as well! Greg and Jims knowledge of what makes a quality, great looking, well lived home is extremely vast. They worked very hard to give us what we wanted, while considering our budget and having honest conversations about what we should save/spend our money on (each piece of advice was completely accurate). Greg and Jim have done work for us over the last 2 years . My wife and I have been very pleased with their level of professionalism , attention to detail , forthrightness , and client focus . They are a hands on style of contractor , with little that they are not personally involved in ….. that is , one of them is on the job site 90% of the time , which doesn't force the customer to be dealing with a bunch of subs on your property . Simply the best building contractors in the area ... We were referred to Rancho Santa Fe Craftsman by a friend who had worked with them in the past. Our first project was a complete garage remodel which included significant demolition and removal. Both Greg and Jim were very diligent from the outset in guiding us through the process and in understanding our budget. We were thrilled with the end result ... a first class job completed on time and within budget. Their network of trusted contractors was invaluable in avoiding disappointments. They have helped with several small household jobs in the meantime which were handled without fuss. We are now considering the installation of a solar system on the house and will definitely use the boys at Rancho Santa Fe Craftsman.

I worked with Greg and RSFC on a major remodel in 2016. My other experiences with contractors has never been this smooth and painless. The first thing I noticed was the level of communication that I received. Whether it was scheduling or explaining processes, I always felt that Greg was in control of the job and that gave me a lot of confidence in the end result. Budget is always a concern, and as things change throughout the job we were able to talk about how the changes would reflect on the final cost. I think that the biggest thing that I would like to mention is Greg's attention to detail and craftsmanship.
