Green River Design

I have been very impressed with David Potter's skill, creativity and efficiency. The scope and design of my project has changed several times and David has been faced with complicated and some times conflicting design objectives. I must say he has risen to each challenge and then gone back and revised the other parts of the project in ways that integrated form and function in what I can only call elegant.

We contacted David to redesign our mid century modern home. The moment he arrived and heard what we were hoping to accomplish, he saw exactly what needed to be done. He saw the new layout immediately. We were thrilled!! Working with David has been absolutely wonderful!! He changed the flow of our home, and added a much needed office and pantry. The kitchen, den, and dining room are one open space- exactly what we wanted. David is incredibly talented- we are very fortunate to work with him!

David was instrumental in actualizing my kitchen renovation. We had a concept concerning dividing a large kitchen island into two islands - one for cooking and one for seating - and moving appliances so we could move efficiently through the space. David's design and incorporating new cabinets with existing ones was key. We are thrilled with the result!

David brought a keen eye, a sense of what works and what was architecturally appropriate for our 1910 farmhouse renovation project. His design work is detailed, thorough and creative, all at reasonable cost. He is personable and easy to work with. He understood our vision for this house and executed it with style and flair. We highly recommend him and his work.

I collaborated with David Potter of Green River Design for several years on residential design projects. He is very skilled with design of new homes, additions, and renovations. He completed several sets of construction drawings for my projects in a timely and cooperative fashion with meticulous Autocad drawings. He was always responsive and had great design sense and construction technique suggestions. He has designed many new homes in the Berkshires and has had terrific relationships with his own clients. We hired David without a precise idea of what kind of home we wanted to build. David designed and sited a beautiful contemporary home for us. He was open to our ideas and was prompt in making design revisions as we went along. He established a solid working relationship with the general contractor (very important) which resulted in a smooth design and build experience for us. We highly recommend David.

David is professional, responsive, detail-oriented, and has a wonderful aesthetic/eye. He is also a licensed general contractor and so has full knowledge of the building process. He provides extremely detailed plans and specifications which leave nothing to a builder's or sub-contractor's imagination. We are building a 4,500 sqft home on the water which is just getting under way! David is a pleasure to work with... :)

David's attention to detail matches his imagination when it comes to window and door fenestrations; it's superb! He truly listens to his customer's needs generating some very creative home designs. It's a pleasure to work with him.

Based on a recommendation, we hired David to design a home for our family in 2010. He immediately understood our needs and desires, and was able to create an incredibly functional and beautiful house in a reasonable amount of time. We gained so much trust in David that we relied on him for additional information during the building process and he was always available and responsive. David remained professional throughout, but was down to earth and enjoyable to work with. He had an excellent working relationship with our builder which made the process relatively stress-free. GRD is David Potter. David is a joy to work with. He is responsive, pragmatic, and incredibly commercial, meaning he is not an "in the clouds" designer but able to tackle a design undertaking thinking through all the way through to fabrication. He is at home in the building material resources as he is in Conceptual Design or actual CAD work where he excels. Full package; Design, CD's, and construction monitoring. Having a very expensive, conceptual design experience prior to working with David, his pragmatic approach was an oasis we desperately needed. The best part of working with David is he offers ideas with no regret or client guilt trip when the client decides to pursue a different tack. He realizes the client has the ultimate call.
