Better Kitchen and Baths

We hired Gene for a remodeling project at our home in 2014, which included renovating our kitchen, a half bath, and moving our laundry room from the first to the second floor. Gene guided us through all the decisions that go along with such a project, and had many excellent ideas for us, but always kept our budget in mind. The biggest obstacle was taking down a wall that would potentially open up our kitchen to our family room and transform our entire layout. Gene came through and engineered a way to make this happen. He was also very conscientious of how the renovation would impact our family during the process. He made sure we were without a kitchen for as short of a time as possible. It is obvious that he loves his work, and it shows in his attention to detail, and quality of craftsmanship. We definitely made the right choice in hiring Gene and couldn’t be happier with our new kitchen, bath, and laundry room!

Gene was a pleasure to work with. He took a small space and make it into my dream kitchen (pictures under the project named MaryAnn). His craftsmanship and attention to detail was amazing. He was easy to talk to, was patient with our questions and had wonderful ideas. He understood our vision and took it to a whole new level. My old kitchen was cramped and dated (pictures below). We now have a gorgeous space to live and entertain in. The layout is so great to work in and my cabinets are as beautifully constructed as they are functional. His knowledge & love for his craft is evident in his work. Gene is a true craftsman and delivers to the highest standards. I would not hesitate to recommend his work to anyone. Our raised ranch kitchen felt claustrophobic and never worked well for entertaining - isolating the cook from the action. Gene was able to work with my design and collaborate with me on some of the finishing touches. We replaced the wall to the dining room with a peninsula, re-arranged the appliances to take advantage of the space, and put in all-new hand-crafted cabinets made by Gene. Now the kitchen brings the whole house together and is a dream to cook in. As a busy working mom, it was important for me that coordinating everything be as simple as possible. Gene handled everything - and the electrician, plumber and tile experts he brought in worked to the same standard of excellence he exhibited in his own work. He always thought to minimize the impact of the renovation on my family, was clean, thoughtful, and delivered within budget. I would hire him again with no reservations.

Gene rescued us after our contractor put off our kitchen and bath renovation several times in several months. Although he was fitting us in he and his crew showed up on a consistent basis. Demo in one day, concrete truck and mason and the roof immediately followed. The white oak floor went in next and it's simply gorgeous. He installed our already purchased cabinets in the new area which is the wet bar in the butler's pantry. Gene had no problem handling the challenges that a house over 250 years old can present and never stood there scratching his head! Best of all are the walnut countertops which he built and installed. They are beautiful. He brought his complete shop in a trailer, has the best tools and knows how to use them. I couldn't be more pleased!!

Gene was an excellent cabinet maker and kitchen designer. I gave him a picture of what I wanted, told him my dimensions ( which were quite different from the inspiration picture!... I had a much lower ceiling) and despite these realities, he created a beautiful kitchen that looked exactly as the picture, well within the promised budgetand completely on time. When I asked about his warranty the answer was "for life" which has proven to be true. Even after all is said and done Gene is a true craftsman and wants ALL of his kitchens to stay the way they looked the day they were completed The cabinets are beautiful and perfectly functional for a busy family of four. Gene has very high standards and uses beautiful high quality wood and hand builds each one. He was the only cabinet maker I interviewed who included painting in his price and my new white kitchen is gorgeous!. Gene's work is amazing and he has been in touch with me frequently to make sure I am satisfied with the work.I can't recommend him highly enough!
