Wood permits a good deal of freedom in my designs. It can be both rigid and supple, both support and ornament, both plain and mysterious, as light and luminescent as water or as dense and opaque as rock. Wood expresses and inspires emotion by transcending its function to connect with the spirit. But function is a critical element in my furniture. I want my work to inspire and excite, but all my work is intended for everyday use. I also think there is something special about a piece of furniture that is made entirely from start to finish by one person. I put my heart into my work. Each piece is unique and I always work to honor the beauty of the wood and provide it a worthy second life, a life that will outlast me and be used and treasured for generations.

Eric is a very proficient and artistic designer of custom wood furniture. His craftsmanship and execution is first rate. I have used his services for a number of projects, ranging form modern design to art nouveau/art deco inspired pieces. He is very easy to work with, and will share ideas back and forth and improve on them. His designs are highly functional as well as artistic. He is the perfect craftsman to help somebody realize a unique work of art in wood. I could not recommend him more highly.

Eric is a master at his craft! He listened closely, followed design plans with exactness, and then worked his magic with the wood resulting in a beautiful piece of furniture that exceeded my expectations. He never hesitated to answer questions during my weekly reviews of the project. I would highly recommend Freyer Wood Works to anyone as he is a true wood artisan in the classic sense.

Eric Freyer is a consummate artist and craftsman and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a special piece of wood furniture. He made a custom credenza for us that really enhances our entryway. It was a collaborative design process, beginning with our functional/dimensional specs and enhanced by Eric's design suggestions. His attention to detail and precision were particularly evident in the final stages of assembly, and we could not be more pleased with Eric's work of art that also functions beautifully.

Eric Freyer was a delight to work with. He was professional, courteous and his "old world craftsmanship" was beyond compare!! We will most assuredly use Eric again and we continue to refer him to our clients and friends.

We have had excellent experiences with Freyer Wood Works, and highly recommend them! We hired them to build a hearth and mantle for our new fireplace. Everything about the project was handled with expert professionalism. Eric listened carefully to what we wanted, and then communicated consistently, to make sure that every step was just what we had in mind. He offered different options that we wouldn't have thought of, and delivered the results in a timely manner. We were so pleased that we later had Freyer Wood Works build a bookcase that complimented the wood and design of the fireplace, right across the room from it. We enjoy both the fireplace and bookcase every day, and could not be happier with the great work and service we received.

Eric's work is exquisite and he is an accomplished artist. We've worked on a couple of projects including a display cabinet and a custom bed and new fireplace facade for our master bedroom. Eric is a highly skilled professional and provides detailed custom drawings and brings innovative ideas to the table as well. His finished work exhibits excellent workmanship incorporating both function and design intricacies that spell gorgeous. We enjoy working with Eric and plan to work with him again in the future.
