Florida Design Works

We worked with this company for many months picking flooring and bath tiles. We decided on the main floor tile for almost 3000 sq. ft.. We placed the order, close to $20,000, and set up a delivery date. When the tile was delivered the invoice had 41 cartons, almost 700 sq. ft. of the tile marked as "back order." This is after the order had been placed and FULLY PAID FOR, for over 6 weeks. We had many other trades scheduled based on the tile installation. When we called, they then assured us the product would be in within 3 weeks. When the three weeks rolled around, we are now told it will not be here until the end of March. It gets better. We contacted the manufacturer and they were very helpful and apologetic and let us know they would provide a substantial discount..When Design Works found out about our call, they refused to allow the manufacturer to deal with us and provide a discount. This company is totally fraudulent and untrustworthy. Do not purchase anything from them unless you have it in writing the product is readily available. They Lie.

We bought floor and wall tile and quartz countertops for a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Though the selection and sales staff were very good, our countertops were a catastrophe. They initially cut and brought the wrong quartz countertops for our kitchen (luckily we stopped them before they installed everything). Then, when they brought the correct quartz countertops, the installation was very poor (uneven and large seams where the quartz was cut/pieced) and had to be redone. We had difficulty getting them to actually show up when promised, so they delayed our renovation project by weeks. We had also bought marble windowsills from them. We had difficulty with them showing up to install the windowsills (which we had already paid for), and they never did finish the installation. We had to pay another contractor to finish the job. And on top of all of that, we discovered we could have gotten the same quartz countertops for about $30-40 less a square foot (installed) from another local vendor, so we significantly overpaid for our countertops. I do not recommend anyone use Design Works, or be extremely wary of price and quality of any installation work.

I have worked with Design Works on many projects in the Sarasota area. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have great products at a great price. I would highly recommend using them.

I highly recommend Design Works! Their inventory is incredibly diverse, always evolving, and of the utmost quality. I have now completed two homes and each time have selected my materials from Design Works. The staff is very competent and always professional. I worked with Diana on my first home and so enjoyed the experience I insisted on working with her again. She is the consummate professional and has terrific design ideas!

Awesome place. I worked with a gal named Flavia Peacock who has excellent taste, knows her stock like the back of her hand, and was of such immeasurable help to me that I cannot even find the words to describe her competence. This business has more inventory than one can possibly fathom, and you need a pro like Flavia to bring her expertise to the table. She is young, beautiful, sweet and beyond competent.

My Countertops were beautiful until they began etching. The surface was treated with a protective sealer with a 15 year guantee. When I tried to put in a claim it was denied. I contacted Design Works but they were unwilling to help resolve the issue. I would have thought they would offer to buff the etched areas and reseal. I have water rings, and other large etchings that I cannot explain.

Jessica and everyone at Design Works were excellent in their service. We had issues finding the right people to handle our office request, but Jessica was able to provide a working model just over my brief details. In our first meeting, she already had it designed and showed a few items we didn't think of. The design, order, install, etc was the easiest we have ever done. We have remodel previous houses and wish we had known about Design Works then.. Excellent attitude, personality, and knowledge.

Exceptional service and staff. I have worked with this company for over 10 years. They always deliver and stand behind their work. The showroom is always revolving and kept up to date with the latest materials. They are one of the few companies that can actually handle very large projects. I highly recommend this company.

Design Works provided exceptional service and a beautiful installation of our marble kitchen counters, bathroom granite and limestone applications as well as exterior barbecue, outdoor fireplace mantel and other items. Additionally, they created an amazing focal point with our custom bar that truly is stunning. The best part was that they worked with me through the process until I was completely satisfied, returning several times to perfect these elegant, custom designs. I can't thank them enough for screening the initial selections and presenting the best options for showing off the stones best features.
