Eliza Gray Gardens

We have a smallish garden and had experienced lots of planting failures, which made it difficult for us to visualise where and how to make improvements. Eliza was extremely engaged and helpful in finding solutions to our planting issues and giving inspiration in terms of the design. She also provided a detailed report following her visit to help us plan when to do things. Many thanks!

I now have the garden of my dreams thanks to Eliza. Before she even looked at it for the first time, she spent a couple of hours talking to me to find out what I liked and what I needed and wanted. Having seen the space and after further discussions she produced her ideas and an outline plan which I immediately liked. There hardly had to be any changes from that to the detailed plans that I used to have the garden landscaped and planted. Everything Eliza did was done with a high level of professionalism and infectious enthusiasm. She made a stressful process pain free and was always available to talk through things with the landscaper and myself. I am delighted with the results and would highly recommend her services.

We approached Eliza to help us with out with our back garden in Bath. We bought our house four years earlier and the garden was a large unruly, uneven sloping garden of grass and weeds which needed a complete revamp... so it was a blank canvas. From the moment we met Eliza we liked her immediately. We really had no idea how to tackle the uneven nature of the garden, and Eliza really listened to what we did and didn't want, and was brilliant at coming up with solutions for the sloping gradient, as well as creating a low maintenance garden which would be suitable for two children. When we saw her initial designs it was clear she had taken on board everything we had chatted about, and she came up with a design which blew us away. Every step of the way she's been available on the phone, on email, and nothing has been too much trouble for her. Our landscaper said Eliza's plans were the best and most detailed plans he'd ever seen. The garden now looks amazing and we can't believe the transformation which is down to Eliza's skill and vision. We've hugely enjoyed her energy and fun sense of humour and wouldn't hesitate to use her again. Thank you Eliza!

Eliza carried out a thorough and high quality consultation with us, exploring our ideas, wants and wishes for the garden, which was designed from scratch. She explored our preferences in terms of how much time we wanted to spend in the garden and how we wanted to use the space, as well as how much time we wanted to spend on its upkeep and maintenance. She carried out a full evaluation/site survey of the area and came up with creative solutions for the irregular shape and camber of the plot. She was genuinely enthusiastic about the project and her enthusiasm was infectious. She brought creativity and energy to the design and was responsive to all our queries. She has continued to show interest in the project as we have implemented it, in spite of some delays due to Covid and our builder. She communicated extremely well through face-to-face, email, detailed drawings and planting scheme, showing personal commitment to the project throughout. Overall Eliza is an engaging and enthusiastic person to work with, keeping in touch and remaining interested in the project as the garden grows.

Eliza helped me to update our small, north facing garden. She worked to introduce a modern style shed for storage, a bespoke wooden bench seat in the sunniest corner and enough new flower beds to enable me to be able to do some gardening. Eliza also helped with a beautiful planting plan, lighting and a fantastic planter. She uses really good suppliers and she was also happy to place orders. Eliza came to meet me and see the space and she clearly enjoys what she does as she is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and is extremely talented. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

We had a general idea of what we wanted to create and Eliza made suggestions and worked with us in the design of our project. The result was stunning. The large plans she produced ( A1 size, I think) are not only full of measurements and technical data. the software she has meant she could give us a dozen or so visual images of the completed design and in full colour. What also impressed us was the full planting plan where every plant was itemised and plotted together with a planting schedule which will make ordering easy. It has been a real pleasure working with Eliza and we thoroughly recommend her.

Eliza did a fantastic job redesigning a complex garden at our cottage to cope with a range of family needs, introducing ideas and concepts that we would never have thought of and yet are used daily. She was readily accessible and did a great job helping to refine a very vague client brief! Prices were very reasonable and the discount she was able to secure on plantings largely covered the costs. Eliza provided a consultation report for a very overlooked new (ish) build back garden. We communicated via email initially so she could establish how the garden is used, planting styles, colour palettes and any problem areas. During her visit Eliza discussed her initial design thoughts, really listened to feedback and adjusted her ideas accordingly. As a result, she has produced a fantastic report and sketch design which really fitted the brief. Her professionalism and friendly nature has made this process so easy, she has been a pleasure to work with.

Eliza designed my garden following a virtual consultation. During the consultation Eliza was able see all aspects of our garden and create a beautiful space for our family perfectly suited to our needs and budget. I was initially worried about a virtual consultation but Eliza made it so easy and Guided us through the whole process.
