We first reached out to Woodwise to get an idea of what we should expect from a renovation. Becky answered the phone and couldn’t have been more warm or kind. We had Becky and Hank come out to explain the design build process and again, we were comforted by their kindness. Going into a major renovation, knowing you’re in good hands is of utmost importance. We needed to feel that we could trust our home in their hands and my goodness did they deliver. We started the design process with Kathy and made our choices with her. She is top notch in her industry. If you aren’t working with an architect like Kathy, you’re missing out. She was always willing to answer our (many) questions and the responsiveness has been unmatched. Once things got rolling, I can’t express what a fun project this was. Did I just say “fun” when describing a renovation that takes out a kitchen, laundry area, and bathroom?! The crew who is doing the hard work every day is phenomenal and to be honest, I miss them! They got to know our children, they ALWAYS showed up with good attitudes, they always answered our questions, and listen - they cleaned up after every work day. Our kitchen was bare, our laundry room was taken down to the studs, and it was clear and clean every day. Overall, our project went better than we could have imagined. If there was something onsite that we wanted to tweak, or add (sorry Ben!), they were wonderful about making sure we were happy. After all, we are going to live here for many many years to come, and I believe they understand that and want us to be 100% satisfied as customers. I can confidently and wholeheartedly recommend Woodwise if you’re considering any work for your space. The process is intrusive but with Woodwise, we have felt completely comfortable and happy every step of the way.

We hired Wood Wise to renovate our first floor and put an addition on the back of the house. The project included renovating the kitchen, adding on a dining room, screened in porch and guest room. From start to finish, everyone at Wood Wise was amazing to work with. They are all top notch professionals that make a home renovation as smooth for the homeowners as possible. Their designer came up with great options for our house, some of which we had never considered, and we eventually decided on a floor plan that meets all of our needs. It was a breeze to pick out all the flooring/tile/lighting/etc. selections with the help of their designer Kathy. She has a great eye and we couldn't be happier with our outcome. Ben, the project manager, was expert at keeping the project moving along. Our neighbors even commented how the project moved so smoothly. Our new house (even though it is not new to us it feels like a new home inside) is updated, functional and beautiful!

Top notch organization. I interviewed over seven companies to remodel my second floor to create an upstairs master suite. Woodwise was head and shoulders above them all. Hank and Becky come with a well put together presentation, explained what they could do and how, provided resources and documents to review the process. Of course when I signed the papers, Kathy and Hank listened to what I wanted and what was important to me and came up with the perfect layout for my family. Construction is hard on a family living in the space but Ben, Steve, Carl and Glen made is as comfortable as possible. These gentlemen are not on masters at what they do, they are professional, kind, polite and respectful. Throughout the phases Ben kept me well informed and made sure I was happy with what was done, Kathy worked very closely with me for all of the fixtures while providing professional input. I could not be any more pleased with how this turned out. Woodwise thank You for making my house into a home. I will be coming back to renovate the kitchen.

We undertook an extensive renovation of our ground floor- master bath, kitchen, wood flooring, added a screened porch, widened doorways, etc. We went with Wood Wise because it was a small team who had worked together for an extensive period. We didn't want different people showing up every day. While renovations are never easy, Wood Wise helped from the very beginning. Kathy (the designer) and Ben (the site manager) worked with us every step of the way, answering endless questions and helping us with decisions. In the end, we got exactly what we had hoped for - a new ground floor we love. WW was easy to work with and always professional. Each of their sub-contractors were the same. It was clear to us that even the sub-contractors had a long relationship with WW. I would hire them again.

I highly recommend Wood Wise Design and Remodeling. The professionals work as a team, are efficient and genuinely like each other. My family and I had a limited vision of what out house could look like. Other companies I talked with, came back with the similar ideas that we had. I wanted someone to take our ideas and get creative. Hank and his team came with an open mind and the end result is far beyond what we thought it could be. We are rather particular and I cannot say enough good things about the whole process from design, to contruction to end result. I have recommended them to eveyone who is considering any home project!

We are extremely pleased with Wood Wise's basement project in our home. They added 1500 sq ft of living space in our basement. The materials and workmanship are first class. The process started with Kathy preparing blueprints that gave us an idea of the project that incorporated our desires. A start date was agreed upon and the complete project was finished several weeks ahead of schedule. Ben, site manger was present every day to insure their sub- contractors arrived as scheduled. Ben attended to every detail and was a pleasure to work with. We felt secure with all of the sub- contractors even when we were absent from our home. The entire project was brought in below budget. We highly recommend Wood Wise if you want a quality team to undertake your project.

We are extremely happy with our kitchen remodel, not just the final result, but the entire process from our first meeting with Hank and his team, through the design/selection, the construction, and the final result. Wood Wise completed a large project at our house. During the entire process, all of the crew were professional, trustworthy and friendly. We knew we were in good hands. Hank has hired an amazing team and we highly recommend them.

We hired Wood Wise to do a complete redesign and remodel of our master bathroom. We were very pleased with the variety of design options developed and presented by Kathy. She was patient with us as we made several tweaks to her proposed options before settling on a final design. Once the designs were finalized, Kathy was a huge help in narrowing down our options and helped us stay on within our budget while still achieving our desired look. Greg who was our primary point of contact on-site was AMAZING! He is extremely talented and has great attention to detail. We couldn't have asked for better work from home. Our golden retriever misses his buddy Greg now that the project is over. All of the subcontractors on the project performed their work in a timely and professional manner. Any issues we had were addressed by Wood Wise and resolved very quickly. We had a few hiccups along the way, but that's completely understandable with the size and scope of the project. We would highly recommend the Wood Wise team to anyone!

(This was also posted on Quality Guild site) Working with Wood Wise on our kitchen remodel was a wonderful experience. After listening closely to our ideas and concerns, Kathy provided several design options, and melded them into the final design. Kathy then accompanied me when choosing sinks, faucets, lights, etc., and helped me stay within allowances and get fixtures I love. Ben, the foreman, kept the job going and promptly addressed any and all questions and concerns we had about the job. Greg, Wood Wise's master carpenter and man of many talents, was here almost every day and was always professional and friendly, and customized things so I ended up with exactly what I wanted. The subcontractors were professional and almost always left the job site clean (if it wasn't up to his standards, Greg cleaned up after them). We had the work done over the holidays, and they told us it would take a while (it did), but there were no surprises regarding schedule or budget. At the end of the project Hank, the owner, came by with a goody bag of wood floor care products, etc. Wood Wise is not the cheapest, but they are the best.

Wood Wise totally remodeled our master bath. The company was professional in every way and made it easy for us to go on with our daily schedules even while the work was being done. The finished project is beautiful and exactly what we wanted and expected.

This is the second major project we have complete with Wood Wise and are now on our third. The projects have included complete remodeling of four bathrooms and other cabinetry redesign and installation. The design services were outstanding, with imaginative and tasteful solutions to our design issues, and the finished projects met or exceeded every expectation. The designer was very patient and cooperative in making our requested design changes during the project, and worked diligently with us to make selection of materials as easy and efficient for us as possible. The installation was basically flawless with only a few very minor issues on the punch list which were resolved quickly. The supervision of the work was thorough and meticulous and the staff at Wood Wise and the contractors were uniformly professional, friendly and respectful of our privacy and the needs of our family during the installation process. They also completed the project within the timelines originally estimated, which is rare in our experience. The best thing we could say about Wood Wise is that for remodeling we would not consider another company, and we give them our highest recommendation.

During the summer of 2014, we renovated our kitchen using Wood Wise Design & Remodeling for the design and the construction. The entire staff is simply wonderful to work with, taking our preferences into consideration right from the start to addressing any and all concerns that we had along the process. We basically gutted the kitchen and redesigned the layout into a much more usable and updated space. Wood Wise's staff brought both considerable experience and knowledge to the project and guided us with great recommendations during the selection phase with details seemingly unimportant but actually critical such as sink placement and fixture sizes. The staff also skillfully handled implementation issues that arose such as how to handle the exhaust vent since we have a cathedral ceiling that prevented a direct path to an outside wall. This was not the first remodel project that we worked with Wood Wise on; we chose them again for this large project simply because they were great to work with, professional at every step, kept within budget and time frame, and did an awesome job. I love love love my kitchen!!

WoodWise did a master bedroom/bathroom and second bedroom/bathroom complete renovation in our 1948 mid century modern home. They also changed the entry hall and redid the den next to the bedroom areas. We were impressed with them from the design phase forward. Our house had a small area in which to fit two new bathrooms, and they did a masterful job. As well their design allowed for an ample master closet and two additional closets. The design and final work was in keeping with the style of our house which was very important to my husband and me. Their workmanship was outstanding. For example, there is a specific style of molding unique to our house. While they tried to save what they could during demolition, they somehow managed to locate the same style to maintain the design integrity of the house, in keeping with its 1948 vintage. Their subcontractors were all highly professional and exceptional craftsmen. When we wanted to add something on to the project, that was never a problem. The entire WoodWise team was wonderful to work with, and always seemed to go the extra mile to make sure our job was done the right way with no short cuts or shoddy work. They have a designer on staff who was invaluable in guiding us through the process of selecting finshes, colors, and all the decorating decisions. They kept to the budget. They were generally on deadline. We certainly would use WoodWise again in any renovation work in the future.

We worked with Woodwise from start to finish. They listened to our goals, helped us visualize possibilities, then provided us with professional assistance to make choices about everything from carpet to cabinets to countertops to colors. When it came time for the work, it was done on time, on budget. Highly recommend working with them.

Wood Wise remodeled our kitchen. They had many innovative design ideas to give us a more functional space within the footprint of our existing square footage. They held our hands every step of the way making not only the construction process a breeze but the design decisions enjoyable and pain free. In the end they gave us a space that we will enjoy for many years to come.

Complete remodel of downstairs including: remove wall between kitchen and dining room, increasing pass-through between dining room and living room, new red oak flooring in dining, kitchen, family room, power room, and hallway, refinished red oak floors in living room, foyer and stair case, tile flooring in laundry room, remove popcorn ceiling on first floor and stairway, new ceiling lighting and fans throughout first floor, new kitchen cabinets, new vanity and toilet in power room. The project was completed on-budget and on-time (3 months). The subcontractors were courteous and performed very good quality. The job site was keep very clean each day. The Wood Wise employees were very professional and a pleasure to work with. The project manager kept the work progressing on a steady pace and addressed all minor issues as the arose. Their interior designer assisted immensely with helping us finalize the design choices and ensuring all delivered products met our expectations

From the initial design process through the final phases of our project, we could not be more pleased with our experience with Wood Wise. Everyone associated with Wood Wise, including the subcontractors, was professional, courteous, friendly and meticulous in their job. The work site was kept neat and clean. The project manager, Ben, did an excellent job of keeping the project well organized and keeping us informed about what would be happening each day. Kathy was so helpful in the design and selection process. Once our addition was completed, the Wood Wise team has continued to follow up with us to make sure we are pleased with our addition. As a result, we got a quality product from quality people!

We did a kitchen remodel, mudroom remodel, hardwood floors install, and screned porch update. We were impressed by the professionalism of Hank and his team. This is also true of the subcontractors. They were very attentive to details throughout the project. Everything came in near the estimate. The final product looks great!

This was our second time working with Woodwise. On this renovation they tore off the back of our house and replaced a cramped back room with a lovely sun-filled family room big enough to comfortably fit our family of 7. They also took a small master bedroom and turned it into a suite with separate private outdoor entrance, dedicated work area, ensuite bathroom, built in bookcases, a gas fireplace and lovely large windows. by the seating area. They added a pantry, remodeled a dated bathroom in the downstairs. They were able to replace our uniquely shaped, but ill functioning front door with one that looks exactly the same, yet actually works! it is remarkable craftsmanship. Our 2nd story was rewired, our roof and HVAC replaced , an outdoor dry storage area was added under the new addition and we even got a floored attic for storage! This renovation make s life easier to live by having a living space that functions very well. it was very thoughtfully done. Hank, Kathy and Ben are wonderful to work with. Expectations are clear, communication is superb. They follow through on everything promised. They go above and beyond any and all expectations! They are easy to work with and deliver quality in a timely way. Pricing is clearly stated. There were no surprises there. I wouldn't willingly hire anyone else to work on our home.

Wood Wise worked with us to determine what we could do with the space we had, within our budget. The best option was to expand the current master bedroom while adding a closet. When we settled on a design, they worked quickly to get the work done, even after delays with the city regarding the permits. All the work was extremely well done: our existing chair rail and crown molding are detailed and they matched it perfectly; we were very impressed with the paint job as well. We were able to continue using our master bedroom closet and bathroom while work was done on the room, with very little if any dust or dirt. Hank, Ben and Greg were always pleasant and easy to work with. We are very pleased with our new addition!

We hired Woodwise to do a major remodel of our kitchen (tore out everything), family room and guest bathroom. They did a wonderful job. All of the contractors were great to work with. There were no hidden surprises. We were kept in the loop as all work progressed. Very professional workmanship. Would hire again. As an aside, we especially appreciated that fact that none of the subcontractors smoked.

Kitchen Remodel: I don't know how much better an experience could be than the one we had with the entire staff at Wood Wise and their contractors. I don't know how but they seem to have the best of the best. Their knowledge and their experience is just amazing. They met all their deadlines and on budget. If there was a problem, such as a defect in the handles in the kitchen, the resolution was handled swiftly and they were replaced. In today's society, you don't get to see this often and it is nice to know that there are still companies and people such as the ones who work for Wood Wise. I would highly recommend them for any home project, especially the kitchen.

Wood Wise has done two big remodels for us. The first involved taking out a structural wall and installing a steel beam in the ceiling to combine two small rooms into single large one . The second was a total kitchen remodel which not only involved tearing out our kitchen to studs, but relocating a half bath to enlarge our kitchen and adding a laundry room. Wood Wise has an exceptional group of workmen who are skilled , dedicated , and extremely hard working. There was real attention to detail and the quality of workmanship was excellent. There were no wasted or lost days. Both our projects were completed on or before the promised date and within budget. ( My husband and I did add a few extras as our kitchen remodel progressed. ) In addition, the workmen who were in our home on daily basis for several months were so pleasant, eager, and nice to have around that we have missed them now that our projects are complete !

We hired Wood Wise to build a screened porch. They were very professional and tailored the project to meet our needs. They pay attention to details and stay on budget. We love our porch and so do all who visit. I highly recommend Wood Wise. Hank is great to work with.

We removed a deck and replaced it with a covered porch with a fireplace and a terrace with a fountain. The end result exceeded our expectations and their attention to detail was impressive. We have beautiful lighting and our concept of a fountain on the back side of the fireplace added an extra feature to the terrace. Woodwise was willing to work with us in changes throughout the process and we have won a design award for our porch.

This was our second project with Wood Wise and we were once again thoroughly delighted. Their design ideas are excellent and they provide lots of help at each decision stage. The project begins when they say it will and they plan very effectively to move from one stage to the next right on time. I was amazed at how little disruption they caused to the rest of the house. Their contractors all keep to the same high standards of promptness and respect for us and our property. This company has done three major renovation projects for us. They helped us clarify what we wanted by asking great questions about how we want to feel in our space. They take well-deserved pride in doing design and construction of the highest quality. They are professional, green, and respectful of their clients at every stage. I would use them again and again.
