We had other contractors build other homes for us but Dan Carlson by far was the most conscientious and dedicated in helping to navigate the process easily without stress on my end. There are 3 ways that we know that, even 8 year later, having Dan and his D.T. Carlson Co. team build our custom home in St. Louis Park was the right decision: 1. We frequently hear people talk about how the experience and results of remodeling or building their home WITH A DIFFERENT BUILDER were awful. Not us; working with Dan and his team was a seamless and really fun experience. And that is because Dan and his team put the customer first. With that focus, the results only be great. 2. Dan said, "once we arrive at a build cost, we are locked in and you won't pay a penny more unless you make a change order." And we never budged from that budget number. 3. Our house is as solid as Fort Knox. There have been no "surprises" with our house over the last 8 years such things falling apart or aging prematurely. It's built like a tank.

D.T. Carlson was the builder of my custom home. The owner, Dan Carlson, personally oversaw the project and was available and helpful to discuss the project whenever needed. Dan has great ideas, is very helpful, and I would definitely go to him again for another project. Every project has challenges and ours was no different. Dan saw it through to the end and has been available afterwards to answer questions, check on things, and remedy minor issues. I HAVE recommended D.T. Carlson to other prospective customers.

D.T. Carlson built our home in the Summer of 2011. Dan and his staff were extremely professional, reliable and built us a gorgeous home. We clearly are not the only ones who think so as Dan was awarded the year's "Reggie" award for our home. In the two years that have followed, Dan has been amazing to work with, and if we ever have a problem Dan is always willing to help us address it and usually will fix it at no charge! I would HIGHLY recommend D.T. Carlson for your build. His workmanship and his team are wonderful to work with and they will build you a beautiful home.

My wife and I hired DT Carlson to build us a house. We had no idea how complicated a process building an entire house from scratch is for two people with little understanding of the construction process. The staff at DT Carlson walked us through every decision and made the build an easy process. While we were expecting a well built and quality house, we were not expecting to find ourselves with the best house we have ever seen. The build quality and attention to detail is beyond excellent. After living in the house for almost a year, there is absolutely zero changes I would make. I highly recommend this builder to anyone seeking to build a home, remodel, or add an addition to a property.
