We had a tentative home remodeling plan and worked with an architect from LZL. In the beginning they have promised they would take cost into consideration and produce a plan that's cost sensible. But they eventually produced a cost-prohibitive design. We decided not to pursue the project. We wish they had provided a ballpark number cost to us in the beginning so we would have spent only an small amount on an initial scoping instead of a few grands on a detailed design ending up being discarded. Another lesson we learned is that they only work on big-budget projects.

LZL Construction, Inc. was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The design team tackled some very tricky issues that ultimately resulted in a very beautiful, functional new entry way, covered patio and kitchen. In coming up with the new design, they were very considerate of our lifestyle and needs. The work began in May of 2020 and continued on schedule despite being in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic. The superintendent was onsite daily to ensure subcontractors were doing quality work as well as following proper safety protocols. We lived in our home during the entire project (4 months) and felt confident that everyone who entered our home was being considerate of our health and safety. The project had some of the usual "bumps in the road", and every issue was tackled quickly and to our satisfaction. Weekly site meetings ensured that we were all on the same page as change orders were made. The project wrapped up in September and we are thrilled with our "new home"! We would recommend LZL construction, Inc. and look forward to using them again in the future.

LZL finished our basement (including significant structurally work). Not only was their craftsmanship high quality - their service was top notch from start to finish. Like with any project, we did encounter some unknowns. LZL was very professional and equitable in the way they handled these discussions and worked with us to come to an amicable resolution.I really cannot say enough good things about working with LZL.

LZL provided us the full service from design to construction with on site management to ensure that the timetable is followed. I loved their transparency on costs, timing and unplanned items that required approval plus provided good insights. They also worked extremely well with Carlson Landscape on a bigger project. We will definitely utilize LZL for the next stage of our project and will recommend them to our friends who will be seeking a top class project team.

I have worked with LZL on four projects in two different houses over the course of twenty years, and I am very satisfied with their work. They have redone a bathroom and moved a wall to give it a little more space in an old house, and they have redone a deck and redone a damages porch. Most recently they completely redid a master bath, adding underfloor heating, replacing all the surfaces, and upgrading all the electrical. They have a stable of first-class subcontractors and good project management and provide good estimates. The last project was also completed during COVID19 time, which they handled beautifully. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat (and I am going to -- my kitchen refresh starts in January 2021).

I’ve had the privilege of working with LZL on multiple projects as a home owner and the general manager of a commercial business and have been continuously impressed with the quality of their work and their commitment to overall customer satisfaction.

We hired LZL to do a complete gut renovation of our basement (down to the studs and concrete) and a seismic retrofit. The re-design resulted in adding a bedroom, bathroom with shower, moving the laundry room, adding an office and a TV room. Jim Moran and Dave hill were great to work with. The firm fixed price model with allowances was a great comfort in the process.

We hired LZL to do a remodel on our 1959 built home. We are so pleased with the opportunity to work with LZL and sad not to see them on a weekly basis! We had received bids from other contractors before we were connected with LZL. Immediately, we were impressed from the initial meetings and estimation process. They worked closely with us and our architect to figure out what we could accomplish in the budget we had. They were great at partnering with us and coming up with solutions with us and our architect to meet the needs of our family. We had them convert a small garage to an additional family room to give us more space, open up the kitchen with a complete gut of walls and cabinets etc, and converting laundry/pantry into a new design. Once worked kicked off, we were even more impressed. Our project super visor was Dave Hill, and he is utterly amazing. Great communication is so key in renovations, and Dave and owner Dennis were on the ball, every step of the way. They held weekly meetings with us to keep us apprised. Anytime there was a question, we could call or text or email and the responses were always fast and thorough. The first week we ran into a rotten beam from where fireplace was removed. Immediately Dave called us and had options ready for how we could address and worked with us to understand and move forward quickly. We actually ended up excited about the change this issue brought to scope and what it meant to design! LZL is great to work with from beginning to end. They combine expertise, knowledge, and exceptional communication to achieve successful results for us as homeowners. Over the course of the project they were like friends that we are truly going to miss seeing. We highly highly recommend working with LZL!

I could not have been more happy with hiring LZL to remodel my home. From the time we met at the house with what I needed done, the design from input by me, and the design team, costs, project finish date, weekly inspection with the crew, to having it completed as promised. LZL team deserves a 10 star rating.

LZL is a fantastic firm to work with on home renovations and repairs. We are return customers and always look forward to LZL’s expertise, craftsmanship, and excellent project management skills. In January of 2018, LZL completed a small scale project in our 1925 craftsman style Queen Anne home . We had some water damage along the south exterior dining room walls beneath the wood framed windows. The wineows also needed replacing in this room. They found the resources to replicate our existing window design to stay consistent with the period design of the other windows in the house. They also upgraded our second floor bedroom windows with better weather proofing and restored the damaged window sills. Exterior wall repair and window replacement in the winter is not ideal as you can imagine in the northwest, but they did an excellent job keeping the site clean and dry with minimum exposure to the elements during this timeframe. They also handled unexpected issues with window subcontractors so that we didn’t have to get involved. LZL is always professional, courteous, and honest. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for end to end project management and quality work.

We hired LZL to remodel our newly purchased 1953 custom built home. We could not have been happier with the end result, but having known LZL's work for years, this was not a surprise. What was a surprise was just how easy LZL made the process. Jim Moran, our project manager, walked us through the design and planning process without a hiccup, and the level of professionalism and communication we received during pre-construction and construction was beyond expectations (which were already set high). Remodels are never easy, especially when your home was owned and built by a contractor that sort of did things "his own way." This makes opening up walls, etc., quite the adventure and while we hit unknown "speed bumps" along the way, the LZL team communicated the issues to us, involved us in the solutions, and tackled them all quickly and most importantly, efficiently. We have all heard horror stories with remodels and while I can't promise you won't have issues that pop up during the project, LZL will go above and beyond to assure they don't become horror stories. Also, a huge shout out to our superintendent, Dave Hill! Our project lasted about 4 months and involved a remodel of about half the house. Due to Dave's planning and coordination, we were able to remain in the house during construction and barely even break with our daily routines. And due to his great customer-centric personality, he was more like a member of the family than "our contractor" (I think our dog is still depressed Dave isn't there every day). Put simply, the entire process was painless. We ultimately got great value for our money, but the real measure of LZL's success is reflected in our view that, if at all possible, the only contractor who will work on our house in the future will be LZL.
