Karen is an outstanding professional with a broad range of talents and skills. She saved my kitchen and laundry room remodel from several expensive-go-nowhere experiences. Within a month or so of contacting her the kitchen remodel was finally underway. (I'd hired many so called professionals who kept billing me while the project never got off the ground. Quite frustrating as my kitchen had flooded and was non-functional.) Karen is a highly talented, sensitive designer able to work across multiple styles with a quick understanding of client needs and of how and what design communicates. Her work is always tasteful, elegant, and on point. She understands the functionality you want in a space and combines that with a look that is that difficult to achieve -- an elegant balance of new and timeless. It was always about my wishes and she made them come to life in a way I couldn't have made possible on my own. She never imposed a look and always wanted to work with my ideas and the architecture of my home, while providing beautiful solutions I never would have thought of. Karen has a ton of experience with the construction process, too, so can help problem solve and discuss contractor type things with your contractor. She was unfailingly kind and fun to work with, as well as always responding quickly and being on top of things. I trust her implicitly. She made what is typically a somewhat harrowing process a pleasure. An amazing person to help you and have on your team. And my kitchen (cheaper than the ideas from all those time wasting billers I mentioned) is absolutely Elle Decor glamorous and not one bit cookie cutter and an incredible space to spend time in.

Karen from the get go was very excited to work with us on renovating our Palo Alto home. We had just moved in a home that was a mix of some mid century features with modern updates and we needed her expert eye to help us tie everything together. Thanks to her we have lovely updated hardwood floors throughout the home and an inviting and refreshed living room that really helps pull the home together. We continue to keep in touch and she is always ready to offer her opinion on decorative touches throughout the home to help us continue to make good decisions! I highly recommend her. She is a genuine, warm, professional, and punctual individual who truly has an eye for mid century modern flair and a passion for design!

I can’t say enough about Karen! I saw her work online and absolutely loved her style. We knew we wanted to give our house a facelift so I reached out to her for design guidance. After sending some pictures of our place, Karen stopped by with samples and ideas to get our project going. It was so easy because her choices were right on. As the remodel got underway and we added to the project, Karen was with us every step of the way to help with design choices. She is fast to respond and knows exactly what will look great. Our house is finally exactly how we want it thanks to Karen’s eye for swank, endless resources and fantastic ideas. Karen rocks!

We had the pleasure of collaborating with Destination Eichler for a project in Charlotte NC. Although our offices are on opposite coasts, we successfully executed a stellar design for our mutual client. D E possesses a very keen eye for style, quality, and composition. Working with Karen was such a breeze! To transform our dark, drafty basement into a warm, family-friendly, multi-use space (laundry, storage, mudroom), we were looking for someone who could take cues from our beloved 1962 MCM to create a bright, contemporary, and very functional living space. Karen did an on-site walk-through, listened carefully to our needs and budget, and designed the room of our dreams. She made great use of IKEA cabinetry and recommended a mix of finishes both high and low to maintain the integrity of the design while staying within our budget. She was very responsive throughout the project, setting reasonable expectations for deadlines, and guiding us through questions about small details that surfaced along the way. We are so happy with the end result. It's saying something that when guests visit, we are eager to give them a tour of our basement!

My husband found Destinations Eichler while researching Semi-Handmade cabinets. Karen (the owner) was fantastic to work with! Her design brought much needed charm to our 1940's bungalow. Mid century modern design with hexagon tile in the kitchen is turning out gorgeous!

We purchased our 1964 Eichler 3 years ago and DIY’ed the majority of the remodeling we could. Last November we were at a stopping point to renovate the original kitchen and bathrooms. We started our search asking the Eichler Network, people in our neighborhood and other Eichler neighborhoods around the area. We originally saw Karen and her design company, Destination Eichler, on the Houzz app but her name also came up through the network. We were so nervous about hiring a designer based on stories from friends and family that had renovated their homes – we wanted someone to take our vision and incorporate them to into their creative design - Karen turned out to be just the person to do so! From the initial consult we realized we had chosen the right person. She listened to our ideas and vision, our style and yearn to keep the originality of the home but bring it up to date. WOW – not only did she do what we hoped but also she far exceeded our expectations. She is extremely talented with her design ideas AND a pleasure to work with. It was a lengthy project but she was with us every step of the way – choosing a contractor and vendors, ideas for art and furniture and each step of the project and construction. She truly cared about the outcome and our happiness! We would highly recommend Karen for anyone – not just Eichler owners – to work with them on their home renovation design! We hired Destination Eichler to help us upgrade our kitchen cabinets. We had already done some work on our kitchen to replace the counters and appliances, but the cabinets were 15 or so years old. Karen (from Destination Eichler) came out soon after we reached out to her on Houzz. She helped us find a great contractor to do exactly what we wanted, which was to replace the cabinet doors and to put a well-made veneer on the existing cabinets. Our existing cabinets were well-made, but the style did not fit our home. The work Karen did allowed us to affordably replace the cabinet doors and panels while moving our kitchen up a notch in terms of it's mid-century modern look. I have hired previous designers, but I have never been as happy with a designer's solution as I was with Karen's approach on our project. She has wonderful vision, a focus on the mid-century/Eichler look, and a great attitude. I'm so happy we hired Destination Eichler. I look forward to hiring her for other projects!
