We first met Doug in April 2014 when we started the process of putting an addition on our home and planned to include, as part of the project, a total kitchen remodel. We told Doug it was going to be a very long process before we were ready to actually order cabinets because of needing to have drawings done for the addition and the process of choosing a general contractor. Doug was very patient the entire time. We didn’t actually order cabinets until January, 2015. We liked the extensive displays Doug has in his showroom. For a project of this magnitude, we can’t make decisions from pictures or websites. It was great to see actual cabinet doors and finishes and be able to take them home and to various other vendors to help with our decision making process. Several times during the design process we made major changes to the kitchen design because of changes made to the addition. Doug was always willing to update his drawings and quotes to accommodate the changes. He told us he ended up with ten revisions on our job! Doug “gets” the fact that a total kitchen remodel is a pretty big deal to most people and never made us feel we were being difficult when we struggled with making decisions on layout or finish. This was very important to us. Once the installation began, Kelly’s attention to detail reinforced our confidence that we had chosen the right people for the job. Not only did Kelly make sure all of the standard features were installed and operated correctly, he also worked with us to provide custom solutions for some unique features in our new kitchen. We love the finished product. When it was completed, we asked Doug if there was anything he would change from a design perspective and he said no. After living with the new kitchen for a few months, Doug asked us if there was anything we would change and we said no. This is a testament to Doug’s ability to work with his customers and ensure at the end of the project there are no “I wish we had . . . “. If you are reading this review as part of your research for selecting a kitchen design contractor, do not hesitate to use Design Studio for Cabinetry.

Design Studio for Cabinetry remodeled our kitchen, installed built-ins in our office, living room, vanities in two bathrooms, cabinets in the laundry room, and outfitted our master bedroom closet. I did a major remodel, 2 years ago - Doug and his team worked with me and my builder continuously to make sure everything was perfect. This was an older house with uneven walls/ceiling. The cabinet installer, Kelly, did a great job making sure everything was aligned and you cannot tell where the issues were before. Doug was very patient and helpful (it was a big decision) with the plan layout and details. His recommendations were spot-on. My kitchen and bar area are the show case of my home due to the beautiful layout and cabinetry installed. This company offers many options - they did not pressure me to go with any items or upgrades. They also delivered the cabinets and installed right on schedule. My cabinets look and function just a beautifully today as they did 2 years ago. We were so appreciative of their creativity, product lines and patience during the construction of our new home in Pinehurst. Best of all, the firm met time lines and came in on budget with no surprises at the end. Their follow-up on small issues of adjustments, etc. was immediate. Design Studio for Cabinetry (DSC) provided creative ideas for a convenient and efficient layout of cabinetry within a limited kitchen space. Prior to final design and fabrication DSC facilitated a moderately lengthy but necessary exchange of ideas with us to ensure a design that logistically worked and was aesthetically satisfying. The installation process included removal of existing cabinetry. The entire process, as expected, resulted in extended episodes of noise and debris. However, throughout the days-long process, the work area was left clean and orderly at the end of each day. DSC personnel were polite and patient not only during the removal/installation process but also during planning and post-installation periods. Minor issues after installation have been dealt with efficiently and professionally. Clearly DSC understands the importance of customer satisfaction well after the final invoice has been paid.

Design Studio IMPROVED the plan that was drafted by my designer. I appreciated their diligence. The product selection was excellent, and they have a great eye for where to spend the money. I have remodeled 7 properties and was delighted with the care and thought that went into installation, the little adjustments and details they added. Post project, when there was a ding on a panel, it was replaced with speed and without question. Highly Recommended.
