My wife Susan and I opted to renovate our cottage in Bridgton, Maine. After reviewing his portfolio, we hired Laine Jones to develop the plans. Laine's creative vision, skill, and attention to detail enabled us to transform our 800 square foot ranch into our dream vacation home. We thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Laine and our contractor commented several times that it was a luxury to have such meticulous and precise drawings. The builders really enjoyed working with Laine and appreciated the fact that he truly understands the intricacies of home construction. We strongly recommend Laine Jones and hope to work with him again on a future project.

We had the pleasure of working with Laine Jones on a project redesigning our kitchen and family room, and adding a three seasons porch to our home. His ideas and choice of materials were artistic and creative. We are thrilled with the results.

Laine provided a level of creativity that yielded an outstanding design. He was highly collaborative, open to all suggestions (he incorporated many) but at the same time kept us on track to create a unique design we love. Design is extraordinarily important, but so is the execution of that design. His plans were detailed, leaving no room for misinterpretation or escalation of cost due to lack of specificity. I would like to make one more recommendation, we kept him on retainer throughout the build which made our lives much easier and the build flawless.

Laine designed an entry Foyer for us that connected our house with the detached garage. He hit it it spot on the first try. They key for us was that the entry would replace the home's original entrance which has been retained and while in a good spot, did not suit our lifestyle. It was also very important that the home's original architecture (Antique 1840's Cape) was retained in the new addition while protecting a very important specimen tree. Laine's approachable and open style with us encouraged our participation in the process and insured that all our layout and design suggestions were addressed.

Laine Jones is the perfect architect for the home owner who knows what they want, but needs an artistic genius to make it a reality! Laine designed our new kitchen/family room and far exceeded our expectations. He was there for us every step of the way. His calm, decisive design guidance was invaluable! We look forward to working with Laine on our next project.

After purchasing a piece of land in Summer 2012 we met with Laine Jones to see if he would be a good fit for us as we built our first home. We had become familiar with the look of a Laine Jones home after stumbling across a stunning Cape style house that he had designed. We both loved Laine after our first meeting. We both knew he was the person for us. Talented, passionate, creative, detailed-oriented, and realistic. From day one he told us what it would cost to custom-build a home. As we get deeper into the design process of what we wanted he informed us of how the cost was going to be affected. He also guided us where to spend our money and where to save. As the house was being built, we had him out several times as a consultant. From our custom-built bulletin/chalk board in the kitchen, to the master bathroom vanity, to the way our kitchen island cut in for another chair, to the way the counter by the microwave curves, to the lattice work that is two-stories tall in our foyer--those visits were essential in order to achieve this masterpiece that we are fortunate enough to call our home. Our entire house building experience from start to finish was so exciting and so much fun. It was a true collaboration between us, Laine, and our builder Bill Constantine. It was an absolute joy and a privilege. We are lucky enough to call every person who worked on this project a friend.

Laine redesigned our 19th century Queen Anne Victorian, helped us find our builder and shepherded us through the entire project which included a complete renovation of the kitchen, third floor master suite, main entryway, deck and the addition of a cupola. His attention to detail is superb: floor plan, windows, doors, details in moulding and direction on lighting and fixtures. He was unfailingly calm and reassuring with us and with our builder and was always available to guide us through difficult decisions. We discovered fire damage to our roof during the project and Laine worked quickly with our builder to find a solution and kept the project on schedule. The finished project won a local award for a renovation that stayed true to the architecture of the period.
