Debbie slovin was a fantastic help to us as set about furnishing and decorating our new home, and we have no reservations about recommending her at the highest level. She has an unerring eye for color and color matching. She patiently guided us in making choices that came together into the overall look we wanted. When we pushed back she pivoted and gave us other ideas that matched our tastes and not hers, and yet, she was not afraid to let us know when she thought we were on the wrong track. She gave us a lot of time and the attention our project needed. And as a bonus, she introduced us to an array of first rate, professional and affordable contractors and provisioners in the low country that helped us with cabinetry, closets, lighting fixtures, electrical wiring, carpeting, painting, wall papering, draperies, upholstering and more. These contractors were an extremely valuable complement to her service. Debbie Slovin truly offers the highest level of "Decor and More."

We got in touch with Debbie as we needed help choosing new paint colors throughout the inside of our home. She was recommended to us by a neighbor who had used her services and was quite pleased. She was available, prompt, and a pleasure to work with. We felt her fee was reasonable. She was very interested in our ideas, she addressed our concerns, and made wonderful suggestions; including some colors we had not even considered. Debbie has a well develped feel for colors and settings and we are thrilled with the new look of color in our home.

She found ways to work with some pieces that we already had and found new pieces that we both agreed on. She coordinated painting and supervised that as well. After reading a very positive review on Houzz, I contacted Debbie to help us decorate our new home in South Carolina. We worked remotely before we moved. I sent her the staging photos of our former home so she was familiar with our eclectic mix of furniture. Since we were relocating from the northeastern part of the US, I wanted to make sure the furniture we moved would work in the Lowcountry. Debbie suggested a British West Indies influence decor which incorporated our rugs, chandeliers and a good part of our furniture. I loved working with Debbie. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about color, scale, and placement of furniture and artwork. Debbie knows the local furniture resources and guided us in buying new outdoor dining and seating furniture. In addition, Debbie made site visits to our new home to help select the hardwood flooring and laundry, office and master bedroom closet built-ins. We are delighted with the final result and can’t recommend Debbie highly enough.

Debbie is very talented and a treat to work with on our project! I hesitated to call her, maybe our master bedroom would not be a large enough project. She came out and helped with paint colors and other great ideas. The contractors she recommended were terrific. This has been a great experience and would highly recommend her, you will not be disappointed !

Our condo experienced a leak from a broken sprinkler 2 floors above us during a short and unnecessary evacuation and sat in 5” of water for 3 days before it was discovered. We had to tear out everything down to the studs. We don’t live in Hilton Head but 9 hrs away so we needed a reliable, professional person who could remodel from the studs out and fully design the condo, purchase furniture, appliances and so much more. We are so very thankful we called Decor and More. Debbie was on top of the entire project and kept us informed concerning every single development. She met and far exceeded our expectations. Her advice was exactly what we needed and perfect for what we wanted to accomplish. We wanted to remodel to sell the condo after finishing the job as we have owned it for over 32 years and we are ready for different adventures. Debbie worked with the contractor and kept him moving, a huge challenge at times. She accomplished this all during the Covid shutdown and items were becoming hard to get. Debbie represented us as if it were her own condo. She was very organized and understood the process of building and decorating. She had selections decided upon and approved by us in a very timely manner. The contractor never ever waited on a decision from her. She made great selections and ran everything by us. The results were beautiful as proven by the first buyer who looked at the finished result offering us 99% of our asking price. We had a contract in less than 4 days over a holiday weekend. She thought of everything. Honestly after making the condo a completely new place, it was very hard to let it go. I would hire her again with not a moments hesitation. In my opinion, you can’t find a decorator with as much knowledge, the ability to listen and follow through with your goals and thoughtfulness about every aspect. I’ve worked in the past with decorators who I felt were just steering me toward decor and furniture where they had a relationship and ended up paying way more than I should have. This is NOT the case with Decor and More and Debbie. I’d give her more than 5 stars if I could. Don’t hesitate to call her if you want a very personal experience.

Debbie is a very skilled designer, with a high degree of integrity and who quickly understood exactly we were and are looking for. She is creative, thorough, and consultative. She repeatedly went beyond her scope of work to further our renovations and keep us informed the development of the renovations when we could not be there. She is professional and a great person to work with.

Debbie at Decor and More is very helpful and easy to work with. She gave me a reasonable number of options and enough time to make a decision on the design. She also will advise on just finishing items in a room (drapes or lamps) or the entire space.

There are not enough words to describe how appreciative and grateful we are to have found Debbie Slovin of Décor & More, LLC on Houzz. We finally took the plunge and purchased a vacation home that will eventually become our full-time retirement home. Quickly learning that the task of furnishing and decorating a home from scratch is an especially daunting one, we reached out to Debbie. Thank goodness! We knew we wanted a coastal, casual feel for our new home and without much direction from us (other than pointing out one of the existing ceiling light fixtures that we particularly liked), Debbie was able to guide us to an end-result that is more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. Debbie started immediately by helping us choose paint colors and continued the project step-by-step so that it never felt overwhelming. She was fabulous at combining new purchases with consignment store finds so that our home feels comfortable and welcoming and a reflection of our personalities and tastes. We should also mention that the bulk of the communication for our project was done via email and text message as our permanent home is not in Hilton Head, but we never felt out of the loop. Debbie is a color savant. She spent time with us and on the first visit made paint color suggestions that were perfect. Nicely guided new furniture purchases that would allow us to keep some of old favorites. Her pricing structure is clearly stated and very fair. Will happily consult with Debbie for future projects.

Debbie has been helping us with a “do it yourself” remodel of a house. She is creative, has a great eye for design and color. Debbie Slovin is an amazing designer. She chooses colors, styles, scale, pattern, and placement of decorative items quickly and with an unerring eye for beauty. She is also happy to help with all the small details, even using items one already owns and placing them in an unexpected and just-right way to create a lovelier arrangement. Instead of feeling that she creates design from formula, it feels that she decorates from great intuitive depth. Debbie was AWESOME! I cannot speak highly enough of her! We found Debbie on HOUZZ when we were planning to build a house. I travel full time, so did not have the time or mental energy (nor the skill) to try and make all of the decisions required when building a new house. Debbie is FABULOUS. Her ability to put colors together is phenomenal and she is so fast at finding just what she knows will bring out the best. When my bedroom paint first coat went on the painters and I just looked at each other, like - on no, this is awful - BUT not awful but my favorite room in the house!! Debbie Slovan comes very highly recommended by myself and my husband! She assisted with the building of our new home and we could not have done it without her! Debbie helped with our building plans before we even broke ground, and then was there to guide me in choosing everything for our home, from where the outlets should go, to the layout of the kitchen, to the type of floors. Her recommendations to the home were all on point and truly made it our dream home. She is also assisting with decorating the home now that we have moved into it. I'm the husband, and I'm doing this for my wife, Linda, for whom Debbie Slovin works. I don't know much about home décor and design, but I want my home to look nice, and be comfortable. I, also, want my wife to be happy. Debbie strikes a nice balance. She works pointedly and dutifully for Linda providing comments and suggestions for the home. She knows her stuff, but she also listens to my wife to hear her ideas and wishes. The end result after a year of watching this duo working together is a nice, comfortable, attractive home; and, a happy wife. A bonus... Debbie is also nice to me so I'm happy too. Life is good.

I am Debbie's " second time " client, for a very good reason . She was so super and helpful the first time there was no question but that I would turn to her as I downsized from a house I adored to a smaller version that I am just so happy with thanks to her. Debbie helped the first time reorganizing all the wrong furniture that we brought from up north. This time she was so patient and helpful helping with a major downsizing project. Helping to choose what would work and what wouldn't . Then we found the perfect things that had to be purchased and well within the budget I wanted . Super, professional , and fun to work with! I had a great experience with Debbie, who helped me with choices of tile, lighting, and fixtures for a bathroom renovation project. When we had a problem with a mirror, she promptly picked it up, had it repainted, and brought it back in time for it to be installed. She also helped me select a fabric for reupholstering a sofa. There are not enough stars to represent Debbie Slovin's services (Decor & More, LLC). My husband and I live in midwest and purchased a condo on Hilton Head Island the fall of 2015. The condo was built about 1980 and had original wallpaper, popcorn ceilings, cabinets, everything and required total renovation. I had been referred to Debbie a few years ago while condo hunting. After purchasing this property, I checked her references on line, liked what I saw and read and gave her a call a couple of months in advance to meet with her after taking possession. I had a thousand shades of grey that I had labored over for a month. Within 5 minutes, she had selected shades for every room. Because of the extensive amount of renovation, we needed to keep whatever furniture was suitable. She helped select what to keep and what to send to resale store. She provided names and phone numbers for all services we needed, window treatments, tile, etc. She ordered fabric to recover dining room chairs that we decided to keep. During the remodel, she was always available when I needed her help for decisions on colors, choices of lights, cabinets, accessories, etc. I could go on and on. After two months of renovations, she shopped for just the right pictures, pillows, accessories to put the final touch on the renovation. Investing in the services of this experienced professional is the wisest decision we made in the entire renovation process! What I very much appreciated was how Debbie encouraged me to trust my own judgment while being very clear on what would or would not work. The services provided by Debbie Slovin of Decor and More are the best investment a person can make in any size project of remodeling or redecorating.

Debbie has been wonderful in helping us transform our brand new, stock (non-custom) house into our low country dream. She was able to take the elements of the higher end homes in the area and incorporate them into our house at a much lower cost. Most importantly, Debbie guided us in making informed choices that were both practical and beautiful. The process of decorating is just that “a process” and Debbie always supported our decisions along the way and offered us options rather than dictating choices. We really appreciated that as we grew to understand the low country style. For example, we painted our kitchen island cabinets grey to compliment the wall colors instead of leaving them the stock color beige. This was kinda bold since the cabinets were new but they came out beautiful especially since Debbie suggested that painting the panels with a dark outline matched the originals. When she suggested that we paint the master BR white, we were a little apprehensive until she explained how the tray ceiling would be blue and bring out the blue in the white. Well, let’s just say it came out really cool. Debbie also helped us hire a master contractor for built-in bookshelves in the LR, crown molding, wainscoting and other improvements including a large screened-in porch and tabby patio. The products that they delivered were very good. In terms of the new furniture, rugs, lamps and stuff—we love them all. And we sit in every chair in the house and use everything purchased thru Debbie which we think is a real compliment to her practicality. And we never thought that we “overbought” anything. We would recommend Décor and More for any improvements or decorating your existing or new house.

As a Realtor on Hilton Head Island, I was in need of a stager for a property I was listing and Debbie Slovin came highly recommended by a fellow Realtor. She met the owner hired her to "do her magic." And boy did she! I was able to raise the price double what the owner spent and the home sold in 2 weeks! Since then I call on Debbie for the smallest of jobs to major projects and she always blows he client and myself away! The owner will work with you closely to determine your taste and preferences, and provide choices to fit your needs and budget. She will work with your existing furnishings or start from scratch, depending on what you want. From the big picture to the small details, Decor and More will do it all, and do it very well. You the customer are the top priority, and you will receive personalized and professional advice. Decor & More helped me select furnishings from a builders furniture package to integrate with my existing furnishings, as well as window treatments, light fixtures, and paint colors. I had to make many of these decisions on a tight schedule, and Decor & More was willing and able to meet my deadlines. Without Decor and More, I would have been overwhelmed by all the choices and decisions to be made. Decor & More was invaluable and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Although in our home for almost three years, I was never quite happy with the way the living and dining rooms looked. We had good furniture that I wanted to keep, but we needed a new and updated look. Debbie took a look around and immediately gave me some hints regarding rug size and color, art work placement, and furniture arrangements. She helped us locate bigger, more contemporary rugs for both rooms, found the perfect chairs for our kitchen table and a beautiful recliner for my husband. Then she walked through the rest of the house and made wonderful recommendations for relocating many pieces of our existing wall art and actually hung some herself. She also found some unused items in our attic that we were able to place in appropriate spots throughout the house. She made recommendations for new lamp shades (and suggestions where to buy them) and gave us the name of a wonderful handyman that we subsequently used for some home repairs. I have used Debbie twice and recommended her to several friends. All our tastes and styles are different, but we all all loved her. I've used Debbie's services several times over the years to help "stage" properties I'm putting on the market for sale. She has the ability to immediately see things from a "third-party" view . This helps the owner to prepare their home for selling it...not for living in it! And the best part is Debbie does this without spending a lot of the owner's money. This was the first time I had used a professional decorator and was not sure what to expect. Debbie was wonderful, she explained what she offered as well as some ideas as I initially described the project and left it to me to determine how involved I wanted to be (or not) in the decision making process. Debbie was able to quickly “learn” my style as well as my likes and dislikes -- we worked great together. The heart of the project included the removal and relocation of a set of stairs, to minimize the space required we settled on a stainless steel multi line spiral stair case with matching rail in a loft area. The end result totally transformed the look of my front living room. Other aspects of the project required a significant amount of wall space be covered with art work, she was able to select 30-40 pieces and I loved them all it was hard to narrow the selection down to the 25 that were needed. Debbie was even able to re-purpose some pieces I had so that nothing went to waste. The project also required repainting a majority of the first floor, new furniture, accent pieces, area rugs and two book cases to be staged she made recommendations for everything – it’s amazing what she was able to do with items I had around the house, her arrangement made it look fresh and gave my home a new look and feel. I was sad to see the project end as I truly enjoyed the time I spent working with Debbie and the end resulted exceeded my expectations – even my husband commented that he was amazed this was our house because it looked nothing like any other home we’ve owned. I would recommend Debbie for any size project from staging to sell to a total re-model, she was great!
