Davis Frame Company

Not the company they used to be. Very expensive up front design costs. Produced permit plan set with a structural issue (how does that happen?). They were bought by a larger company just after we signed contract, and many workers left off were let go. Walked in with a mature design layout and were told they could meet our planned build in 12 months. Designer changed to a new hire, and changes from design meetings were repeatedly not accomplished. Calls and emails to the company went unanswered for up to 3 weeks. Delay after delay till unsigned permit plan set with structural issue was presented 12 months later when build was supposed to happen. Have since gone with another NH company who has performed beyond our hopes (just so you know we're not unreasonable customers) to design our home.

For more than 25 years we have thoroughly enjoyed our Davis Frame home! Ready to downsize now, we have listed the home & are talking with Davis about building the next. Being the home owner and GC on the project, I really appreciated & enjoyed working with Jeff & the professionals at Davis Frame on this challenging project. Jeff Davis, and all the staff at Davis Frame Company, are remarkable to work with. They not only respond to every issue or question with speed and knowledge, but even think of the "unasked questions" to avoid problems down the road. We were so impressed with the Davis Frame process, from initial site visit, to plant tour, to architectural review, to the trucks rolling into the driveway (with Jeff himself there to welcome the first one!). It has been the ultimate 'incredible journey' building our timber-frame hybrid home with Davis Frame Company. We are grateful...we are awed...and we are telling everyone we know. Our home is still a work-in-progress, but we can't say enough good about the quality of the materials, the beauty of the joinery, the resolution of issues, and the highly pleasing esthetic of the end product.

Through the winter of 2012 - 2013 we had a local architect design a 2 1/2 story barn for us. We had two garage bays on the lowest level with living space above. Our intent was to have a local builder construct the barn which was a standard stick built design. However, as our plans were late in being produced all of our first choice builders were already booked for the summer. Having been familiar with Davis Frame over the years and knowing that they had a panelized program I thought they were worth a call. Our meeting with Jeff Davis went great! He felt our plans were something they could work with and might be a good fit for them. He also said "Tom of course I am going to have to provide you with an option for some Timber Frame work on the upper levels." He did and we agreed to his panelized program with the Timber work on the upper levels. We set a target delivery date and we were off and running. To make a long story short our package was delivered a week early and erected as a complete weather tight shell in just five days! The crew from Davis Frame was run by Rick Bascom and came with absolutely everything they needed. The only thing I provided was a couple of electric outlets for their power. We had local crews finish up the siding, roofing, electrical and plumbing. Today with our barn 95% completed we couldn't be more pleased and proud. Davis Frame did a Great job for us right from the start. And they stayed with us whenever we came up with questions or problems as we finished up the remainder of the building. To this day my wife and I consider the local Davis Frame representative and his wife good friends. Without any reservations I would highly recommend David Frame as being an honest and reliable firm to work with.

After interviewing 5 timberframe suppliers, we chose Davis Frame because they were flexible to our plan, made good suggestions to improve our plan, and worked with our space planner and architect to deliver our dream home on time and within budget. The builder had no problems at all and we love the finished home! We also used them to design our 3 story car barn. They are first class and very professional. Jeff Davis was fully involved and visited our home several times. Great service and complete knowledge of design and building.

Provided the design work, construction drawings and the entire outer shell for our gorgeous, energy efficient timber frame home. We liked their service so much that we became dealers back in 2007. Everything from design to helping through the whole process exceeded our expectations. The whole team at Davis Frame made our dream home a reality. After 7 years in our house we are stall amazed at how inexpensive it is to both heat and cool our home.

The Davis Frame Company hosted a visit to Claremont, NH, where my wife and I stayed in their model home, toured their production facility, and were made to feel at home. In the design phase they were very responsive - they modified a stock design to suit our needs. During design and construction they were very available to our architect and subs. I was on the phone frequently with questions and problems - the hand-holding was extraordinary. The business side was clear and straightforward. All targets were met. There was no quibbling. Our house is complete and it is a stunner! The Davis frame is a house....and it's a work of art. If there were 7 stars I'd give them seven.
