We could not be happier with the work Curtiss for us! He helped us turn our existing garage into a beautiful new rec room and designed a new attached two car garage with an office above. My wife and I started the journey to build a new home. One of the first steps would be to find an architect that can assemble our ideas into a finished product. We asked friends and family and also did some research using the internet. We found Curtiss listed in a local search and did some browsing on his work. His reviews were stellar and the fact that he attended Washington University to learn his profession gave us a good feeling about Curtiss. I called him and did a short phone interview. I liked what he had to say. He was busy but his timeline suited our needs. We submitted a rough draft of our intended floor plan and let Curtiss apply his knowledge and experience. After he had finished his computerized drawing he presented it to us for review. He hit the mark! We made only very minor changes to his original draft such as door locations. Next, he envisioned the elevation design to suit the floor plan. That's when things really started to get exciting. Being able to see what your new home will look like on paper is one of the highlights and Curtiss did a great job designing the look of the outside of our new home. I was adamant about build quality and materials being used to ensure a solid, long lasting, trouble-free home. As we discussed the different options, Curtiss was helpful and gave us his input with ideas that would give us what we wanted and also meet the local building codes. Having been through this process before, we know just how important a good architect is to the final product. For someone who doesn't build homes for a living, you are not likely to notice the details that are needed and sometimes omitted to accurately quote and build your new home. Curtiss is very detail oriented. The details needed by each of the trades is well described in his construction drawings. Anytime something is left open for interpretation you run the risk of inaccurate quotes or disappointing outcomes. I give great credit to Curtiss for his attention to detail. I would invite anyone needing architectural work to interview Curtiss. I think you'll find that he is very easy to talk to and he certainly understands all aspects of his profession. My wife and I couldn't be happier with is work!

Curtiss is responsive, professional, thorough, fast, and reasonably priced. Most importantly, he listens to what the client wants and offers his ideas and opinions as enhancements to the client's desires rather than forcing his own ideas or desires on the client. Can't recommend him enough!

Curtiss designed my basement and sunporch. His recommendations and design was perfect for our new home. The end result is both beautiful and functional. We have received many compliments for our porch. His basement suggestions optimized our space while fitting with the rest of the home. I especially like how our basement is open and our guests can really have a complete floor for their enjoyment! In addition, Curtiss was professional and a pleasure to work with - he collaborated on our ideas.

Curtiss is great to work with! He was able to take my vision from 4-5 house plans and design a custom home for me. His attention to detail is meticulous and is still readily available throughout the construction process to answer any questions from the general contractor. I can't wait to live in the final product.
