Referred by family, we hired Carol based on the multiple projects she'd already done for them. Carol presented us with 5 different kitchen designs and helped narrow down our wish list and must haves, while working within our budget. Her design fee is incredibly reasonable considering the research, time, effort, thought, calculations, phone calls and meetings she's put into our project. I had an idea of what I wanted, but I definitely needed the help and expertise of putting it all together. We can't wait to see our finished kitchen!

Carol Strober of Sitework has done architectural work for my husband and me several times in the last 25 years. She designed and supervised two major renovations of our 5 story 1890"s brownstone in Manhattan. Her work is detailed, meticulous and beautiful. She is sensitive to both client needs and the requirements of the project and manages to balance the two perfectly. She also works very well with contractors and sub-contractors; she understands construction and mechanical issues and is able to design within those constraints so the end results both look great and work well. I've worked with Carol Strober on multiple projects over the past 10 years. She designed the house I live in today. Our square footage is small but 90 percent of folks who walk into our home for the first time are impressed with its layout and design. We hired Sitework, Inc. to do the interior design for our large loft apartment in New York City. Carol Strober, the principal at Sitework, was responsible for the design, selection, oversight of custom construction, delivery and installation of a complete solution - window and wall treatments, wall units, furnishings, art, lighting, etc. for our 2br 2ba loft. We wanted color, creativity, and a strong modern cast, and she delivered. Carol also has a background in film/stage set design, and we loved the cinematic quality she brought to the space. Her sense of style pulled together exquisite furnishings by designers such as B&B Italia, Cassina, USM/Haller, along with local artists, into a delightful, uplifting and peaceful space suitable for everyday living and high-end entertaining. She was pleasant and professional, mindful of our time and our budget, willing to research and present alternatives for our consideration, and very knowledgeable about sources and prices. I hired Carol Strober, at Sitework, inc. to decorate my house. She took the time to learn what I liked, and also evaluated the furnishings I already owned. She incorporated some of my old family pieces and helped me buy other antiques. We spent a lot of time looking at new furniture and making selections that complimented my existing pieces and that worked with my house. She was conscious of my budget and worked with me to save in some areas so I could afford to do more in the areas where we agreed not to scrimp. I was extremely happy with the final result. I loved the way it looked; it suited me and my house; and people who visit ask me who my designer was.

Carol redesigned the patio area adjacent to our 1950's area pool. It went from being an unpleasant, concrete-filled corner to a lovely patio and lawn area with beautifully curved shapes echoing the pool. Carol oversaw all the work professionally, punctually and with great attention to detail. She is an incredibly talented and conscientious designer.
