As total novices with garden design and renovation it was wonderful to have Christine to guide us through the process. Christine had practical and creative ideas which evolved though our discussions as she got to know us and our style. Our garden had tricky levels but Christine managed to work realistic and cost effective solutions to create 3 zones. Christine arranged quotes from landscaping companies, continually visiting the site and going through the plans and progress with contractors. Our garden was completed in July and Christine has ensured that we have knowledge to care for the new plants and trees. Overall we are delighted with our new stunning garden thanks to a Christine and castle Landscapers.

From the start Christine completely understood our vision for the garden and the final results have beyond exceeded our expectations. Christine uses all of her knowledge and expertise to create designs that are both beautiful and practical, even for garden novices like us! Christine was also invaluable in sourcing suppliers, plants and landscapers. I could not recommend her services highly enough.

We made a long list of information regarding our proposed use and some ideal content in the garden. Christine took that all on board and included as much as was practically possible. On production of the first draft, she was flexible in adapting a few elements to more specifically match our hopes. She then worked closely with the landscaping company to ensure that her design was understood and implemented accurately, then advised on planting for the grand finale. All in all we are delighted with the outcome - completed just in time for a major anniversary party ..... in the garden! Some of our guests declared it 'a triumph', and passing neighbours have been keen to inspect the works and have similarly been bowled over by the transformation!

Christine provided an excellent design service for us - opened our eyes as to what was possible, guided us through the process and was very flexible in adjusting details as our thoughts evolved and the landscaping got underway. This is the second landscaping project that we have commissioned Christine Wilkie to design for us, after being extremely pleased with her design service during our first venture with her. This project was to completely revitalise a dull lawn only front garden and tarmac driveway. The brief was again to be a contemporary design with a Japanese planting twist. The design was not to be of a block paving nature for the driveway, but to incorporate a pleasing to the eye curvaceous element with the paving/setts borders to complement the granite aggregate drive. Christine once again guided us through the various benefits and pitfalls to a design that we would be both visually and practically pleased with. An initial design was set out within a short period of time, this was for us to get a feel of Christine’s understanding of the brief and this was then modified in some areas with input from Christine and ourselves. After completing the final draft and making sure that we were happy with all the design elements, Christine set out to incorporate the materials and the planting regime. A detailed overall drawing was configured, landscaping samples for the materials were organised for us to view, followed on by another meeting for us to discuss and understand why these elements had been chosen, and of course if we were not happy, alternatives could be discussed or incorporated. Overall, we have always found Christine to be honest in her opinions and she will always explain her reasons for a particular area of her design, should it be queried, and also her choice of materials/plants that she has chosen. But as previously experienced, Christine will objectively listen to any concerns the customer has or changes they wish to make. Christine’s liaising with her chosen Landscapers is faultless and her regular visits to the site keeps the whole project in check from start to finish. If there are any concerns from the Landscapers as to how something may be resolved, should a problem occur, then Christine is always on the case to help resolve the problem without delaying the project. We were delighted with the final outcome of our second Landscaping project and it surpasses every aspect that we requested in the initial brief. We have even enjoyed positive comments from neighbours, local delivery drivers/bin men and from tradesmen who have watched our latest project come to its fruition. We have no hesitation in recommending Christine and her chosen Landscaping team, as they provide complete peace of mind to the customer and they will always deliver the final project to the highest standards.

Our garden is lovely and the whole design process was extremely easy.

Christine did a good job helping us renovate a tired pool/patio area. We wanted to create something contemporary and her materials selection was good (some of which we didn't view in advance but we just trusted her choice). She designed an area with clean lines and with suitable simplicity. We wanted to do the planting ourselves and she was flexible to create a palette of textures and colours in a planting plan that we could interchange. She was patient in accommodating our views and adapting the plan.

From the instant we met with Christine we knew that our proposed Contemporary Garden Design could be a reality. Christine’s attentive and creative designer skills enabled us to put together a visually pleasing and practical garden concept. After deciding what areas of our garden we wanted to utilise and what colour scheme was to be a theme, Christine designed a thoroughly imaginative layout that would have been beyond our expectations but for her creativity. Christine guided us through from the initial concept, to the schematics of choosing plants for our design, as well as providing written quotations from garden lighting contractors and absolutely brilliant landscapers, with whom she has previously worked, which helped to make our dream garden a true to design reality. Christine was always punctual, replied to any of our queries with either advice or if not in total agreeance that might possibly detract from the design aspect, then she would always take the time to explain the reasons why but would adapt where necessary. For one of our projects, architects from Inhabitat Design Studios Ltd team worked with Christine aiming to bring the house design and the garden design into harmony, balancing each other while offering their character and beauty to the property as a whole. Her ideas were invaluable.

Christine was a pleasure to work with. She helped us redesign our garden using the existing design and flowers we wanted to retain. Working with a quantity surveyor she designed and planned the planting of the garden. She provided us with clear ideas and photos of the flowers and was flexible to make changes as requested. She was very understanding that we were working to a deadline and ensured that everything was completed on time, despite bad weather working against the project. If you have a budget, you must ensure you realise that the flowers are extra on top of her quote, as well as the irrigation and planting. Factor these prices in to ensure you have accurate costings. It’s always useful to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve as this is very helpful when designing a garden. You cannot expect a designer to know what you want unless they’re guided by you and your taste. Christine will always endeavour to help you achieve what you want.

After many years as an unused "children only" wilderness zone, Christine has transformed the bottom of our garden and revealed space we never appreciated we had. This included some tricky considerations including how to connect this zone to the rest of the garden , different ground levels, some large trees and an existing building structure. We now have decking, beautiful espalier pear trees, a series of beds on different levels and a wildlife pond. The space works really well and we are using all of it to enjoy our garden fully. Christine has a collaborative approach and listens to ideas as well as providing her own. She makes a great partner for a project - she is professional, practical and patient which is what you need to get the design and planting scheme to achieve the right result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Christine.

Following some fairly major building works we wanted to remodel our front garden but were stuck for ideas. We found Christine via a web search and were sufficiently impressed to ask her for a consultation. We very much liked her approach and the ideas that she came up with, both as regards layout and planting. As the design moved forward the brief expanded as we asked her for advice about our rear garden. Thus her ideas for that became part of a rather larger project! At all stages Christine was constructive, innovative, professional and always ready to listen. She was also effective in helping us to select a garden contractor and in overseeing their work at key stages. The end result is a true testament to her creativity.

My garden has just been completed and am absolutely thrilled with Christine's design. She understood the brief well and thought outside the box to provide effective solutions to a number of tricky problems, in particular a 30ft hedge at the bottom of the garden which doesn't belong to us. When it cam to the planting scheme Christine patiently listened to my many preferences and has come up with a scheme which should provide lots of colour all year. We engaged Christine to design us a large patio with associated landscaping, paths and planting. We would heartily recommend her, she listened to what we wanted (not always the case) and adjusted her designs in response to our comments. The landscapers were superb despite having to work in atrocious weather conditions and we are very happy with the results.

We worked from one of Christine's designs which specified something a little more unusual and classy than a normal patio. The diagonal laying pattern of flamed sandstone with black granite sett surrounds really worked and Christine was a pleasure to work with as always. Very friendly and professional.

Christine produced the most wonderful design for a very tricky area in our garden. She worked with us, understanding all our requirements to create a wonderful space. I would highly recommend Christine Wilkie Garden Design. I enjoyed working with Christine and found her helpful, creative and full of good ideas. She listened to my brief and tried to incorporate everything into the design. The only criticism was that when it came to getting quotes from the landscape gardeners they were significantly over budget. So I had to change/reject some of the garden design to meet budget. As far as design and creativity I could not fault her.

Working with designers is usually challenging - you end up with designs that they want and not necessarily what you want. But then there is Christine Wilkie who listens and then with her brilliant creativity and knowledge, designs a garden that not just meets your requirements, but creates something way beyond your dreams.

Christine provides an excellent service. From the first conversation where I set out broadly what we wanted, to the final installation of plants, Christine was superb. She really listened to what we had in mind for our small, urban garden and carefully reflected on what would work. Christine has designed our front and back gardens and has done a great job with both. The gardens are quite different (one country, the other more formal), so she is able to adapt to different styles. She was very good at listening to our requirements, but also contributed lots of her own thoughts and suggestions. Christine is very knowledgeable about all aspects of garden design; e.g. flowers, shrubs, pathways, materials etc., so was able to deal with all the elements and did not need to point us in other people's direction for various matters. She was also very efficient in terms of responding to any queries we had throughout the process and presented her plans on schedule, so our gardens were finished on schedule. She has also been available for any follow-up questions we may have. I would definitely recommend Christine for garden design work.

I had always muddled along with a bit of grass and some chairs then Christine came along and talked about creating another room in the house. At first I didn't get it. We were in a one bedroom flat and just wanted to spruce it up. Christine didn't spruce, she transformed our small and cluttered garden into a wonderful entertaining space that became the highlight of our home. I never dreamed that you could you just tell someone what you imagined and that they would create it for you, this is just what she did. We have somewhere to eat, relax and even plant herbs.
