Daggett Builders did a kitchen gut and remodel on our home. We know Brian on a personal level and knew right away that we wanted them to do the work. We had seen a few jobs that they did previously. They were quite impressive and we were confident that they would do a good job. They basically squeezed us in between another job but he wanted to keep his guys working. Our job was definitely smaller scale that what they normally take on but we were grateful! We worked with a designer at Lowe's for the kitchen cabinets and granite counters. Everything else (minus the drywall) was done by Daggett Builders including the cabinet install. The workers arrived on time and did mostly a great job. We weren't too thrilled about the paint job, especially the ceiling. We had to go over a lot of it ourselves. We also had a small issue with the hardwood floor install and wood moldings. It was mostly corrected and we were happy with the end result. I have to say what impressed me most was that the job was running a little behind...I came home from work one day and there was Brian Daggett installing the tile flooring in the 2 entries we have in the kitchen. I couldn't believe it! It was really great of him to go the extra mile and work so hard to get the job done. The transformation was unbelievable! It looks like a new house. We are constantly complemented on the new kitchen. Thanks Brian and the folks at Daggett Builders! Sorry this has taken me so long to post a review! We are so happy with our kitchen and now that the house is for sale, we are sad to be leaving it behind but the new owners will love it!!!

Wonderful people, easy to deal with, and very good at keeping open communication from start to finish. Craftsmanship is superb.
I would recommend them to anyone looking to renovate, build an addition or a new structure.

We built a European style house and chose Daggett Builders because of their incredible attention to detail. We wanted custom cupboards built and matching panty cupboards as well. The work was done exactly as we requested and we were given advice in areas that we were unsure of. The workmanship was excellent quality and on time. We had no surprises with time, quality or cost. Daggett Builders did exactly as stated to us. This was a great improvement over so many builders who always have the little extra cost thrown in at the end. We would also state that the builders were always courteous, polite and all were gentlemen and this is very, very important to us.

I hired daggett Builders to completely restore my 1800 cape on the coast over the winter. I had a firm budget, a plan and a time limit. I was also in PA. I only came up once during the winter. They started in September with a finish date in May. They had my plans. Not only did they finish on time but they adhered to my plans exactly, keeping all the crookedness and the charm of the early house but they replicated the rotted moldings exactly and restored an unexpected delapidated wing within the time limit also. During this time I received videos and photos of the progress and was always asked for opinions and choices. I have never had a better experience. Their work ethic is superb and I came to my house to find it exactly as I had pictured it and wanted it to be.
I highly reccomend Daggett Builders.

Daggett Builders are craftsmen who take pride in their work. It is a delight to live in our remodeled home after gutting it and adding onto the original structure that we built. We enlarged a kitchen and dining area and customized the kitchen in a high end manner, added a laundry, master bedroom and bathroom, crafts room, A/V room, office and a garage. The garage alone is amazing! It is even more amazing to be able to say that we totally enjoyed working with Daggett Builders - we've worked with two other contractors on large scale projects, and the Daggetts were the easiest to work with, most detail oriented and there were no loose ends at all. They are also completely honest and transparent in terms of cost of materials, etc. I would happily work with them again!

Initial interaction with was wonderful and we were excited to work with them. We decided to hire them mostly because of this and they have a great portfolio -- though their price was higher than the smaller individual contractors we received bids from. We were hoping to avoid previous experiences with past contractors who ended up doing things and making unexpected alterations--resulting in our not being happy with the final product.
We ended up disappointed, as we'd spent a bit of time on communication--and even provided drawings--to make sure there would be no surprises. But communication between the owners and actual workers who showed up was poor--apparently our drawings were never shared with them. If we hadn't caught the error the workers would have made changes and moved ahead based on what they thought was best -- not on what we had specified with the owner.
This error was huge, as far as we were concerned, caused us much stress and really didn't make hiring this company worth the extra money we had payed. The work done was adequate. It was, overall, a simple job and shouldn't have had any issues--it was really the big communication glitch that ruined it for us.

The client above makes a valid point that good communication at every step is crucial. We make every effort to ensure that this type of thing does not happen, but as we are human, we sometimes make mistakes.
The job consisted of shoring up the underpinnings of a sagging porch. We did the work correctly and even managed to take some of the sag out of the porch without damaging the delicate old window panes. We started and finished it on time and in less than 48 hours, cleaned up, and charged them less than our estimate. As this client stated, we did spend “a bit of time on communication”. It was actually quite a bit of time and at no charge. We charged only for the actual hours that our employees spent on site, plus the cost of materials marked up as per our contract.
The owners told us they had invited lots of builders to look at this porch project and were unimpressed with them for various reasons. They were right to be careful and to choose a builder whose employees are properly trained to do the job correctly and safely. It was a typical old fashioned sun porch with large windows made of small panes of old glass. The work was simple, yet not necessarily easy. The biggest risk was to those old antique windows, which as we know from experience, break very easily. We gave them a Detailed Fixed Price Contract which described, what we considered to be, the best solution.
The owners wanted to keep their costs down and possibly do some of the work themselves. After several more meetings, e mails, and phone calls, we agreed on a solution that would be less expensive and, while not what we would normally have done, certainly adequate. The owner architect sketched up a plan and we wrote up a detailed description for the new Time & Materials Contract, signed on Oct. 10, 2012. The owners asked if they could save money by applying for the permit and digging the post holes themselves, if they had time. We said yes, thus the T&M Contract, and provided them with the additional instructions they needed, in writing.
I showed the job to our project supervisor and gave him a written copy of the Job Description.
Unfortunately, I forgot to also give him a copy of the sketch that the owner had provided. It was a simple enough job that the sketch should not have been absolutely necessary but I take full responsibility for forgetting to give it to our employee in charge. As this client said in a subsequent e mail “The fact is that if we hadn't discovered the error by chance -- that one of your workers asked me if it was okay to remove some trim and through this conversation went on to mention a couple of details that I knew were not what we had agreed to -- the job would not have gone as planned.”
When this client called me I was caught off guard. The employee in charge is a very experienced carpenter, whose opinion I respect highly. My first thought is that he must have discovered something under the porch and had a good reason for wanting to make a change. To quote our client’s words “ This is when I called Chris. And initially Chris tried to tell me that the worker had found new information and was changing his mind about the plans -- it wasn't until a few minutes into this very frustrating conversation that Chris finally admitted that he had not even shown the workers the plans.” She is correct. I should have listened without comment and simply told her to I would take care of it. I did take care of it. When she mentioned the sketch, I realized that I had forgotten to give it to our employee. Knowing she had a copy, I asked her to give it to him. I then called him to tell him to do the job exactly as per the plan, no matter what.
I called the owners after the job was complete and left a message to say I would be happy to speak with them. They never returned my call. I then mailed them our Client Satisfaction Survey in a self addressed stamped envelope but it was never returned. Two months later this review was posted on Houzz.com and I have to take responsibility for my actions. I am actually glad it happened because it finally gave us a chance to talk. It is a hard lesson to be publicly taken to task but it is an effective learning tool. There is always room for improvement no matter how long one has been in business.
