Calvin Cutler Construction I am currently operating as a three man residential construction company. I am a confident journeyman carpenter. I have the skills and tools necessary to build or modify anything in a home. I use trusted subcontractors for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinklers. I got my start in construction in my late teens doing landscaping irrigation and tile setting. I worked for a Company doing roofing siding and gutter for a couple years before I went on to installing residential gas pipe. In 2004 I move to Sebastopol started working for Sawyer construction. Starting as a laborer / apprentice I moved on to become a journeyman carpenter and then Forman. I got licensed as a General B contractor in 2004 and continue to work with Sawyer construction until 2020. Since then I have been doing small to mid size remodel jobs in Sonoma County.

Calvin is a gifted carpenter and - maybe just as importantly - a great problem solver. He built our house from the ground up and then we hired him again to convert an old barn into a splendid new office. In both projects he brought a level of craftsmanship that met the highest expectations and a level of quality that has stood the test of time. He managed all subcontractors effectively and ensured a quality outcome in every case. We would not hesitate to hire him again for new building or renovations. Others make excuses - Calvin makes it right the first time.

Without any reservations, we highly recommend Calvin and can't say enough good things about him and the excellent work he does. We've worked with Calvin for over 10 years having him renovate and repair our aging Victorian era farmhouse. He is highly skilled, has a great aesthetic, and does impeccable work no matter what the project is. He does not cut corners, works within budgets, meets timelines, and has always kept us informed of the project's progress and any unforeseen problems. Calvin takes great pride in his work; is calm, quiet, and focused on the job; cleans up at the close of every day, and leaves the job site neat and clean. He has always come through for us. Calvin is also a pleasure and a joy to work with. He is absolutely trustworthy, honest, fair, dependable, respectful, and a person of great personal and professional integrity. He is a great listener, works collaboratively, and is transparent about his process and what he recommends as the best course of action. Calvin stands out in the construction field and we are always grateful to work with him. Every experience, every job has been a positive experience.
