We started. a kitchen remodel in June of 2016. The job remains unfinished. Although quality of work is good, owner Brett Schoolnik sabotaged the ordering of materials so often that work stalled frequently. Brett makes promises but does not deliver in a timely manner. I regret hiring this company. 13 months and counting for this job is proof of incompetence. Buyer: be advised.

-employee was completely unprofessional. Spoke negatively everyday about his boss, the owner Brett. -would come 3-4 hours later than planned even after promising to come earlier, and then leave several hours early -would take extra long to complete job while complaining about how much he didn't want to do the work or how the work was "beneath him" -when I told the owner about this, he simply did not care much nor offer any remediation for the delays -there are many better contractors out there, Owner did not seem sympathetic to why took 2 months to complete this small job

Recently The Baywood Design Build Group remodeled my master bathroom, painted the house interior, and installed wood floors in the portion of the house that had wall-to-wall carpet. It was a pleasure working with the owner of Baywood, Brett Schoolnick. And the Project Manager, Eric, was very easy going and helpful, and such a workhorse. The painters did a great job in a very reasonable amount of time. And the wood flooring was installed beautifully! I was very pleased to work with a very ethical and professional company that I could trust. It was a very small job, but they treated me no differently than if it were a large job. I would definitely hire The Baywood Design Build Group again!

Baywood's slogan ....."We don't just build ... we create" certainly describes our project. They designed and built a first floor office and master bedroom suite as well as an art gallery and sunroom. Baywood Design and Build has been gradually upgrading the interior and exterior landscaping of our house over the past few years. The architecture of our house, designed by Adams Architects in Houston, is unique. We built the house in 1987 on an acre and a half of wooded land. Built by a local builder to meet a tight budget, we made compromises on nearly all the interior furnishings; cabinetry, flooring, kitchen and bathroom fixtures and windows were all minimum “builder grade” materials. We also had to forego exterior decks and landscaping. After completion, our house looked like it had descended from outer space, landed in a forest, and carved out a landing pad. But, we loved the house, its great location, and fantastic setting. As our income increased over the years, we began improvements. Baywood came highly recommended to us by close friends. Brett Schoonick, visited our house, and talked with us about our wish list, then laid out a series of plans. We began with the construction of an outside deck, hot tub, and stone walls. Three or four years later, we asked Baywood to assist with inside renovations on the first of three stories. Brett, the “design and build” part of Baywood, brainstormed with us and in 2005 developed CAD drawings of his proposed design and iterated with us on budget to obtain a final design, whereupon the “build” part of Baywood took over. Brett hires the most accomplished of carpenters whose worksmanship is meticulous in every detail; New Cherry wood custom built kitchen cabinetry, floors; tiled and hardwood to replace the original linoleum and carpet; a wonderful wood-burning fireplace in the living room, as well as floor to ceiling Pella windows to bring the outside, inside our living room, the gorgeous view of our forested property. In 2012 Baywood continued to help us achieve the look and functionality we desire, remodeling the master bedroom, bathroom and closet, with beautiful, functional cabinetry, a gas-burning fireplace in the bedroom for cold mornings, and Pella casement windows to bring inside those fragrant spring-time breezes. Our final project was the third floor where Baywood continued the hardwood floors and redesigned what once was our children’s bed rooms into office space and a guest bedroom. Our final desire is to refinish the basement, which eventually will come.

Baywood did a great job for us. They renovated our kitchen and it is beautiful. The workman were on time and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Eric was a pleasure to have in the house. Brett Schoolnick did a great job in designing it. Jerry & Janis Cripe Columbia, Md.

My wife and I have hired Baywood for at least 3 projects over the last 20 years. The first one was a relatively small job (around $5K) repairing/replacing several structures in our garden (my wife is an avid gardener). We were very satisfied with their designs, and execution of the work. This led to as second project several years later, the addition of a sun room (around $45K), which just made the house; it became our favorite room. Most recently, we hired Baywood to design/build our new home (around $1.5M); we are just in heaven with the results. The fact that we have rehired Baywood for increasingly difficult and more costly projects speaks to our satisfaction with the company. The designs are breath-taking, the workers are perfectionists in execution and I have learned to listen to their suggestions very closely as Brett has a wealth of experience which time and time again has proven to be better than my own. In all my jobs, I get multiple bids and have found Baywood sometimes to be 5-10% higher than most, but the results have a) created beauty which I had not anticipated, b) brought significant pleasure to my family, c) resulted in a steady stream of compliments from visitors and d) significantly contributed to the ease of selling our home. Baywood Design/Build Group did a wonderful job on a renovation of our home's first floor several years ago. The project involved removing or opening up every wall on the ground floor of the house and putting in beautiful windows, interior French doors, molding and wooden floors. The entire team was very knowledgeable and professional and very easy to work with.

I've used Baywood for numerous projects ranging from a kitchen redesign to a new addition on my house. Great design and execution.
