I read an article in Atomic Ranch (a mid-century mag) which featured Borden Landscape Design, and marked it for reference when we finished a major remodeling project. We spoke to several local landscape designers who just didn't seem to "get" the look we were hoping to achieve. Tim visited the project and we discussed our goals of unusual plant ideas and a design which would compliment our home. We had an instant rapport. He is astute and intuitive and provided us with a landscape design that is fresh and unique in our area. We built a new home. Tim did a wonderful job with planning the landscaping, selecting the landscaper, and overseeing the installation. He listened to our ideas, incorporated them into the design, and worked within our budget. He was flexible and willing to make many changes along the way. He is very knowledgeable. Tim provided the design to add a pool and upgrade the landscape of my house on Siesta Key. Tim is easy to work with, professional,and delivered all items on time. Having never done a project like this, it was great to have an expert like Tim to guide me through each step, help with subcontractors, and make sure everything was done to code. We recently purchased a "fixer-upper" in Estero, FL for its outstanding location and view - preserve and lake. But the property was outdated Mediterranean-style, terribly overgrown (think jungle) and missing a pool. After meeting with several landscape architects, it was clear that Tim was the solution. Not only does he know his FL vegetation, he's extremely creative and delivers extra-ordinary designs with unique materials. During the building of our pool, we got many comments from contractors about the unusual and beautiful choice of stone. When the landscape went in, the landscaper actually tried to talk me into different plants because "I've never heard of some of this stuff, why don't you put in the palms that everybody has??!" Tim has unparalleled creativity....integrating both hardscape and the softscape stuff....while still remaining pragmatic. Importantly, he stays in touch as the project progresses with suggestions on lighting, alternative materials if having procurement trouble, house paint colors...... We were thrilled Tim would travel down to the Ft Myers area to consult with us. Thanks to Tim's plan, we have the most beautiful property in the neighborhood.....at least according to the neighbors and their visitors!! Thank you Tim!!!

I hired Borden Landscape Design for a difficult project. I am completely remodeling an old house that a previous owner had attempted to turn "Mediterranean". Mid-century lines were barely evident under the faux arches and tile, and the architect was having a difficult time translating the structure back to a modern style. I knew the exterior, including front entry and large pool courtyard, were crucial to the transformation and that the landscape plan would make a huge difference too. I met with Tim, showed him several photos of houses I liked (that were actually quite different in size and shape than mine), and the very first drawings he offered were exactly what I was trying to achieve. Both his hardscape plan as well as his plantings were absolutely perfect, and he also came up with the design elements the house structure needed to tie everything together. I cannot recommend Borden Landscape Design highly enough. Not only is Tim highly knowledgeable about Florida plants far beyond what you will see at your local nursery, he listens, and has an amazing talent for elevating the client's vision to great design!

Tim came recommended from someone we trust and from the first meeting, Tim was a pleasure to work with. We gave him a budget and creative control and the finished product was beyond our expectations! He came up with some great ideas that we never would have thought of, including the redirection of flow of foot traffic. Also, he put a tremendous amount of thought into the material types and what best suited our look. He walked through the inside of our home to get a feel for the views to the outdoors and chose some unique features that accentuated it. I hired Borden Landscape to come up with a landscape design for a renovation of a 1962 bungalow in Bird Key, Sarasota, Florida. I asked Timothy Borden to put together a design using his imagination and run with it. He did not disappoint me. His ideas were unique, and beautiful. He did the planning for irrigation, driveway redesign, every different plant and tree and it's specific location, walkways and fun features like a fountain. His attention to detail was remarkable.
