We hired Jennifer to help us refresh and renovate our condo in Vancouver. We interviewed a number of designers and Jennifer was the one that "got us" from the start. Although we didn't know exactly what we wanted, she listened to us, asked lots of great questions and was able to distill all of our likes and dislikes into a perfect plan. She was collaborative in her approach and even though our space is small, she came up with a lot of creative ideas to make the most of every inch. This was our first renovation and big deal for us, and we felt that she was there to guide us every step of the way. She was always friendly, professional and responsive. Jennifer is a very talented creative designer. She wrote quite a few very insightful design stories for me when I was editor of Home Decor and Renovations magazine. She is knowledgeable, experienced, and very good at expressing her clients' unique personalities through their decor. Jennifer has done some work for us at 2 different houses. She provided paint colours (interior and exterior) and a fireplace design and bathroom layout at one house. Most recently she provided paint colours, tile design ideas and tips on various design ideas around the house. The first time we worked with Jennifer she gave us a project rate as it was a bigger job. This year we only needed a few hours of help which was reasonable and valuable without the commitment of an expensive design process. Jennifer was hired by us to provide an interior design plan for our home renovation. After extensive interviews with us to determine what we liked and what was important to us Jennifer prepared a plan that fit in with our life style and tastes. We are active people enjoying the mountains in the winter and the beaches and parks in the summer. Jennifer incorporated this life style preference into the design plan utilizing sanding tones and granite in one bathroom while the other incorporated the earth tones and slate of the mountains. Recreational space in our new bedroom with lots of light was also very important to us and Jennifer accomplished that by providing more window space additional lighting and floor space to practice yoga while enjoying the valley view. Her attention to detail and ensuring that the design reflected our wishes and preferences was very impressive. Jennifer has an astute sense of style and innovation. I knew what I wanted, but didn't know how to get there. I was renovating a high end 1000 sq.ft. apartment in Yaletown, Vancouver. She took in all my ideas, filtered through them, and directed the project with inspired vision and clarity. She carefully assessed the elements that we were keeping and found ways to incorporate them seamlessly with the new elements. She also had many creative ideas that added so many designer touches to the project. With her help, I was able to achieve the traditional feeling that I wanted, with a fresh and contemporary flare.
