Beyond fashion, style, or theory, Audrey Matlock Architect delivers projects that are contemporary and original, and reflect the uniqueness of their occupants and locations. It is precisely these special qualities that ground our client’s homes in meaningful and lasting ideals. A distinctive characteristic of the firm is the integration of architecture, interior design, lighting design, and landscape. This approach results in seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces to develop homes that fully coordinate every aspect of beauty, comfort, and convenience. The result is an all-encompassing personal lifestyle concept. With her firm, Audrey has designed homes all over the world. Current projects include condominium buildings in NYC and single-family homes in the Catskills, the Hamptons, Switzerland, and Kazakhstan. Audrey received her Masters of Architecture from Yale University and has taught architectural design at Yale, Penn, Texas, and Syracuse Universities. Her work has won over 60 design awards and has been published extensively, including Architectural Digest. The New York Times recently named Audrey as one of the 12 architects whose buildings are shaping New York today.

I worked with Audrey Matlock, not once, but twice, on my home renovation projects. Audrey is a brilliant force who designs smart and thoughtful spaces that are dynamic and timeless. She uses her magic wand to brighten, open, and elevate any tired space. We worked on two gut renovation projects - one condo in NYC and an old colonial in a New York suburb. She successfully established a strong indoor-outdoor connection, restructured and redesigned old, labyrinth-like floor plans with clean, minimal lines, and directed meaningful flow and circulation. Lighting design is Audrey's forte, amazingly transforming the look and feel of the interior and exterior spaces. Audrey specified sleek, modern finishes and fixtures that further impress the eye. I would undoubtedly recommend Audrey Matlock Architect to anyone looking to renovate, build, or add, and I am proud and honored to be one of her many loyal clients.

I have recently finished the renovation of my NYC apartment with Audrey Matlock Architect. Wow, what a transformation! The design is very creative and everything functions beautifully. The AMA team was there for us every step of the way during a complicated construction process, always finding solutions to difficult related to renovating an old building. I love our new home and would recommend Audrey Matlock Architect to anyone!

I cannot give enough praise to Audrey Matlock Architects. They designed a second home for us in Long Island and our only complaint is that we are not able to live in this house full time. The relationship of the house to its landscape is sublime and we feel that the outdoor living experience is as carefully choreographed as that of the house interior. We are so happy when we are in this house and planning to have Audrey and company renovate our NYC apartment.

I am ever grateful to Audrey Matlock and her fabulous team for their ingenious work on my new home. I bought a run-down New York apartment with good views and a lot of space but not much else. I made the leap to hire an architect to completely renovate this 4,000 square foot space into an open contemporary living environment. Audrey designed a spectacular apartment with a creative layout and beautiful details. Her deep understanding of construction and her ability to work well with the contractors made the project go smoothly. The results went well beyond my expectations. I am now living in a home that functions like a dream and brings me great happiness. Without hesitation I would hire Audrey Matlock Architect again.

If you are looking for high quality design with an incredible cutting edge style Audrey is the one stop shop. We started with a white box space 3600 sq. ft. in Tribeca which Audrey transformed into the most beautiful functional space for our Pediatric Therapy Practice. Her ability to use a broad range of materials and graphics on the walls, flooring and custom cabinetry has made our space a fun beautiful place for all our clients and staff to enjoy. Audrey is a well-kept secret in the Modernism professional community which we were so fortunate to find!

Audrey Matlock and her team were amazing to work with ! Creative, responsive and knowledgeable about all aspects of construction, they shepherded the project through the process with minimal problems. I chose to live in the loft during construction and they were able to phase the work so that this was possible. The finished project is all and more than I could have hoped combining an authentic building with modern contemporary living. Audrey has both the ability to see a clear vision and at the same time pays real attention to even the smallest details and the result is an elegant and perfectly balanced space. She listens to what you want and her and her team are a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Audrey Matlock Architect to anyone.

I am so grateful to the fabulous team at Audrey Matlock Architect for their terrific work on my new home. I bought a run-down brownstone with good bones and space but not much else. After careful research, I hired Audrey to create and improve my living experience and investment. Surprisingly, the process went very smoothly. Audrey showed great patience as she guided me through her design process that resulted in an amazing transformation of my home. She and her team deftly handled all the issues that came up during construction. The project was completed eight months from the start of design - weeks ahead of schedule. Now I have a beautiful new apartment that has brought joy to my daily life and is a wonderful place to gather with my grown children and their families. Highly recommend.

I have worked with Audrey on one of her award winning residential projects and she is absolutely a top notch architect. She designs for excellence and she is very meticulous on every detail so that her clients get the best possible end product. Her designs are usually derives from not only creative ideas but also from an engineering point of view which I think separates her from most other architects. It is always a pleasure working with Audrey and I am looking forward to work on other projects in the near future with her. I highly recommend her to anyone who is serious about building a new home.

My construction company has worked on more than a dozen projects in and around New York City with Audrey Matlock Architects. Our experience working with Audrey’s firm has always been extremely positive. They are very attentive to details and have a strong understanding of the construction process. The firm’s construction drawings are impeccable so there are very few problems during construction, something that makes our job go smoothly.
