Raheel Ekanayake

We chose to work with Udara after hearing positive reviews from acquaintances who had contracted him for their interior projects. There was a part of our house that needed major renovation works and we wanted a modern feel to the new design but we're not sure where to start. Here is where he lent his expertise and revamped the entire space- it now has an upgraded look that blends seamlessly with our existing space.

Andrew Ekanayake

I worked with Udara for tailor-made furnishings for my apartment. He was able to design and collaborate with expert carpenters and vendors from Europe to make the kind of furniture that cannot be bought in typical showrooms. Udara drew the designs to match the angles and space of the apartment and could illustrate what would work best with my lifestyle. He designed pieces for the bedrooms, living room, and outdoor patio. All of them are made with one unique design element that in the end, made the flow of the apartment consistent and pleasing to look at. His design aesthetic is great and I would work with him again for all my future projects as I know AtelierX Colombo can be relied upon for expert work.

Creative and unique, studio AtelierX is by far the most dedicated interior designer in Sri Lanka that really understands how to make the most out of a blank space. I contracted Udara to work on the interior design of my house, as well as to design an outdoor entertainment space. He presented me with his vision for the project and included the custom designs for furniture, finishing and accessories. All this attention to detail was something that impressed me from the start. The flow of the house from the front door to the outdoor entertainment space is harmonious and transitions very naturally with Udara’s instalment of an analogous colour palette. There was a lot of thought that went into designing the interior and I am very happy that Udara’s team was able to execute such a unique vision.

AtelierX is a decent design firm & we would like to recommend them highly. Especially for apartments and residential interiors. What we like about AtelierX is that they exclusively manage the project by themself, starting from design conceptualization all the way to project completion and the handover; Which makes our life more peaceful. I've never been convinced that staging worked, but this is an excellent crew showed me what great adaptation looks like. ATELIER|X was referred to us by one of our foreign investor whose Colombo apartment had designed and build beautifully by Udara and his team. As a first timer, I was a bit nervous, but he communicated the project operating procedure very clearly; which was easy to understand. ATELIER|X team is exceptional, punctual, organized with the professional team members; which also made me feel relax. Beyond their creative design ideas, they also have a vast knowledge of the quality products, materials finishes, specifications, cost management, project scheduling, and the project management. The scope of work involved some structural changes, plumbing, light, and electrical implementations, updating everything visible such as all bathrooms, walls finishes, floor refinishes, kitchen cabinets and appliances, and all new custom-made furniture etc..etc... As anyone who has ever done this before would know, there are always so many unexpected hiccups along the way, especially in Sri Lanka. Udara was great about keeping me in the loop while shielding me from the stress. We stayed within budget, and the only changes were things I added along the way. I couldn't have been happier with it when I moved in and had only grown to love it more over the past year of living here in Colombo. It's a pleasure working with Udara and ATELIER|X team. I look forward to working with them on a few more projects in the near future.
