My vision at OBX Interiors is to create beautiful spaces for my clients through inspiration & design. Each space I create is inspired by an element that holds meaning to my clients. Anyone can pick out a beautiful space and recreate it for their own, but if it does not hold true to you, you will never feel like home. My goal is to work 1-on-1 with clients to find what inspirational elements can help create their space. This can come from a memory, a color, a song… It’s always different and I love it. I then work to find what qualities they expect out of their space. For some it’s an instant vacation, for others it’s a fully functioning family home. My career started at an early age of bounding through Manteo Furniture as a little girl, glancing at all the pretty furnishings. I've always had a love of all things interiors. I graduated from the Art Institute of Charlotte with a degree in Interior Design in 2007-in the year the recession started. I was fortunate enough to land a job as a Kitchen & Bath designer straight off of my internship at Kellogg Design Center. I received training in 20/20 technology, Kraftmaid Cabinetry, Schluter, and Green Building. I learned about the selection process and instillation management of cabinetry& flooring. My time in the industry helped me to create a mental index the selections available for interiors with an idea of its value & durability. The economy regained stability & I made the important decision to leave the kitchen & bath industry in favor of furnishings. In 2011, the winds of Hurricane Irene carried me to Manteo Furniture & Appliance. They were picking up the pieces after most of the showroom was flooded. The hearty company quickly bounced back and I made the transition into furnishings with ease. We quickly worked with clients getting their homes ready for rental season and helped locals get back to living. I now concentrate on buying for the store and enjoy the annual trip to the High Point Furniture Market. OBX Interiors began with free advice for interior color selections and grew from there. My education & work experience gives me the knowledge to help clients make the best selections for their space. My style of design ranges from eclectic to coastal inspired spaces, subdued relaxing spaces, and spaces specifically designed for vacation rentals. I’ll always strive to please each client with their individual needs for the project so that it remains a fun and exciting experience!
