Alison's organic style of design/aesthetics with her professionalism in her communication has made the whole experience pleasant and enjoyable. She incorporates our ideas with her expertise and knowledge and we truly appreciate the lead she's taking on our project.

Alison Terry is a talented landscape architect that I have had the opportunity to work with on more than one occasion. She has created some special exterior spaces and in my opinion has a very bright future in her field. Alison's put the time in. She is certainly well-educated and has gone above and beyond to become an expert in all aspects of architectural landscape design. Her best skill might be her ability to listen and to hear exactly what her clients want and expect, and then realize those goals for them despite any challenges the property might present. Alison has her own sense of space, style and materials, and she's also open to ideas and suggestions and that makes her really fun to work with. She creates artistic, modern and crisp exterior landscapes that resonate with her clients.

Alison created a comprehensive exterior remodeling plan for our front and back yards including design of a pool and spa, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, walls and other hardscape and plantings. She met the challenge of fitting many features into a relatively small space, while actually making the yard feel more spacious. The additions seamlessly complement the existing structure, making for a beautifully unified whole. Alison also served as the project supervisor, arranging for and overseeing the work of most of the subcontractors. She partnered with us closely throughout every step of the project, which took 9 months to complete. She fulfilled--and exceeded--our vision for a dramatic Mediterranean front yard and a tropical backyard paradise, which we thoroughly enjoy every day.

We have worked with Terry Designs on many custom residential projects throughout Southern California. Alison and her staff are always professional and prompt in scheduling, responding to questions and processing paperwork. They provide us with detailed plans and the resulting designs are beautiful.

Alison Terry has great creative vision yet a true ability to collaborate seamlessly with people, whether clients or contractors. Her vision for our outdoor living area was far beyond what we could ever have imagined. She was incredibly collaborative in addressing feedback from us in the design phase, and brought in contractors whose attention to detail was artisanal, yet who finished on time and on budget. Alison herself chose the exact pallets of travertine, the exact slabs of granite or limestone, the exact large trees that would anchor the living areas. She responded to e-mails so quickly that we stopped sending them late at night. She was with us from design through construction through post-construction and is still available whenever we have questions. Our outdoor living area is elegant without being stuffy; there is a large, vanishing edge spa and several discreet seating areas that we wouldn't have even known we had the space to accommodate. Having seen Alison's design and execution at our house, one friend and another neighbor signed on to have Alison design their outdoor spaces. I just wish she did interiors, too.

Alison Terry designed and managed construction of quarter-acre backyard remodel. Terry used her artistry and extensive experience to design a beautiful pool and spa using natural materials including stone, wood and concrete. Outdoor stone fireplace complements the overall natural aesthetic of the yard which intersects with 5,000-acre wilderness park.
