Our 1990 country kitchen was in desperate need of gutting and a complete remodel. We found James through Houzz and loved his design ideas, attention to detail, and knowledge of all aspects of the project. He kept us informed every step of the way and always responded right away to our texts and phone calls, which was much appreciated. It was a pleasure to have his crew, Chris and Johnny, working in our home. They did a great job from demolition to completion, and kept the work area clean every day. Thanks also to Mary for her help with paint color and cabinet handle selections. We added to the project a shower remodel in our small master bath and couldn't be happier with the result. We now have a beautiful Shaker kitchen and a gorgeous shower and the job was finished in just under 6 weeks (a few days ahead of schedule). We highly recommend James and will not hesitate to hire him again next year when we remodel our other bathroom. The first picture shows how outdated our kitchen was and why we love the results of our new and much improved modern kitchen!

We hired Agoura Design and Remodel to redo our kitchen. James and his company worked with my designer, Linda Woods to create a beautiful kitchen design. Chris Patterson and his assistant Johnny did a wonderful job of installing the cabinets. They were prompt, polite and always cleaned up after themselves no matter how late they stayed. As with any remodeling project there were a few bumps in the road. James always did his best to rectify any problems that occurred. In the end James and Linda gave us a spectacular kitchen design. Since this was our first time remodeling we met with five companies prior to Agoura Design and Remodel. Once we met with James Thurston and his designer Stuart we knew they were the right fit. They walked us through every step of the process, made us feel at ease and were in constant communication with us. Our project consisted of a complete demo, design and remodel of the kitchen and powder room. The kitchen project included removing the drop ceiling, installing recessed lighting, adding a center island and designing a functional kitchen in a small space. Our remodel also included the family room, dining room and laundry room. Ceilings were scraped, recessed lighting was added and the spaces were painted. We lived in our home during this process and the Agoura Design and Remodel team was always respectful. The team was very professional, informed, attentive, thorough and always happy to answer any question we had. The Agoura Design and Remodel team will be back in our home again soon to move forward with the remainder of the remodel. We highly recommend Agoura Design and Remodel.

I can only say POSITIVE things about Agoura Design. James Thurston, the contractor, was professional, informed, helpful and listened to my suggestions regarding my new FANTASTIC kitchen. His crew was also helpful and answered any questions that I may have had. They transformed my new home into MY SPACE. James Thurston and his crew at Agoura Design and Remodel did beautiful work on my 65 year old family home. I interviewed four contrac tors before I found James. His estimate was in the middle range. It was very detailed, specific and thorough. He and his crew installed new double paned windows in the whole house, took down a wall, designed and remodeled the kitchen, remodeled a guest bathroom. replaced wood flooring - that no longer creaks! - and updated all baseboards and door and window casings and installed a new electrical box. James and his crew were detail=oriented, thorough and professional. He communicated with me on a regular basis and as needed. He and his crew stayed on schedule and completed the project on time. And, now, this old house looks and feels like new! The finished project far exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend James Thurston and Agoura Design and Remodel for your next project. Agoura Design and Remodel completed our kitchen remodel in August (2014) and we are enjoying every aspect of the two most used rooms in our house – the kitchen and dining room. At the onset of the project, the only things we knew for sure were that we wanted to enlarge an ocean view kitchen window, add a bi-folding door to the dining room, and redo cabinets. We also knew we needed to choose a contractor that was not only experienced and fair about pricing, but creative and knowledgeable about all areas of construction. Agoura Design and Remodel fulfilled all of our expectations. From design to demolition to painting, we were part of every decision. We were encouraged to choose materials based on our lifestyle and taste and were kept informed about costs related to our choices. This was the second project Agoura Design has done for me. The first was the master bathroom which i could not of been happier with. When it came to the kitchen and family room i called James and have been pleased once again.The whole crew could not of been any nicer, reliable and honest. I highly recommend them.

Agoura Design remodeled my kitchen and dining room. James and his crew did an amazing job. Their price was fair and their attention to detail was spot on. All of the crews that worked on my project were professional and very clean. The project went longer then expected, my house was quite a challenge. Crooked floors, sloping ceiling just to name a few. Agoura design fixed everything! If I ever need a kitchen remodel again I will definitely call James. But I am never moving!

James gave us a new kitchen and it looks great. We had several meetings prior to start. Once we were convinced James knew what we liked, he started the process of demo, drywall, electrical, installation of cabinets, countertop , back splash, and appliances. They worked Monday thru Friday. No down days. All trades people were reliable and respectful to the homeowner. We continued to live in the house during the kitchen project. We are now enjoying our new kitchen and are completely satisfied with all the materials and workmanship we received from Agoura Design and Remodel.

Agoura Design and Remodel redid our kitchen and we love it! The remodel entailed removing the drop ceiling, moving a wall, installing recessed lighting, French doors, custom cabinets, new appliances, tile in the kitchen/family room, painting and upgrading the electrical system. It was an extensive project, but was well worth the time and cost. James and his crew were great! We felt comfortable with them as people and as craftsmen. They took the time to listen to what we wanted and built us a signature kitchen. Upon completion, we felt immediately at home. And that, to us is the most meaningful measure of success.
