I had never utilized a professional project manager and interior decorator prior to working with Paul and I worked with Paul for over a year. It was a tremendous experience and for my next project in another city, I went thru three before I found one CLOSE to Paul but never equal to Paul. Very much the professional, Paul challenged me to think differently, take some risk, be a bit more bold and he had to because frankly I would painted everything hospital while and gone to Ethan Allen for furniture. I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Stuart Rankin over the past three decades. Our long working relationship began when I hired Paul to decorate my first apartment in NY, just off Fifth avenue. He was very sensitive to both my budget and time constraints. He found the right mix of classic style and American comfort, and he worked with all of the different people involved in putting the apartment together with tact and professionalism. He was particularly attentive to keeping to schedule. I was so delighted with the results that when I moved to Paris and had an apartment to decorate, I called Paul. He brought a deep understanding of the French decorating idiom, grounded in a thorough knowledge of the various styles, as well as excellent French language skills that allowed him to work easily with the French artisans. Once again he successfully married French style with a relaxed idea of American livability. And after beautifully decorating my apartment in Paris, I turned to Paul to work with me on my country house, a 300-year old Burgundy farmhouse. Working closely together, we were able to breathe new life and style into a rustic country abode. The results were marvelous- in line with what I had envisioned, and finished on time. Paul Rankin has been working with us for almost 20 years now on a number of projects and we could not be happier.
