The main work area has great countertop space around both the sink and the cooktop. The ceramic tile backsplash has a stainless steel insert behind the cooktop for easy cleaning. The pattern work in the backsplash provides a unique visual impact. The combined hearth room and kitchen create a large space for cooking, working and entertaining. The Sharp Microwave Drawer and the Avanti Wine Refrigerator are conveniently placed in the island to serve both the cook and the server. This U-shaped kitchen was designed with storage capacity in mind. The home owner's were down-sizing and needed kitchen storage. The Aristokraft Maple Teagan Cabinets not only filled the storage requirements but also fit the project budget nicely.

This island separates the kitchen from the family room. This 1960's ranch had a small kitchen and separate dining room. Both rooms were combined into a large kitchen and hearth area. The island was designed to seat 3-4 for casual dining and double as a home work space.

A baking center was created to the left of the oven by utilizing shorter cabinets and setting those cabinets forward to provide a deeper and lower workspace for rolling out dough and working with pastries. The ceramic tile backsplash is interesting for the pattern work. The new Somerset Red Oak flooring installed by Wentico & Company contrasts nicely with the darker wood of the cabinets.

    Ⅰ型コの字型キッチンは最も一般的なレイアウトで、シンク、調理台、コンロ、冷蔵庫が横一線に並んだタイプのコの字型キッチンです。 最近では、対面カウンターを付けて背面に収納スペースと冷蔵庫を置くなど、Ⅱ型やアイランド型に似たタイプのレイアウトも人気です。
  • Ⅱ型コの字型キッチン
    Ⅱ型キッチンはシンク、調理台、コンロ、冷蔵庫を2カ所に分け、平行に配置することで調理スペースを広げるレイアウトです。調理の際の動線が短くなるというメリットがあります。
  • L型コの字型キッチン
    L型コの字型キッチンは、シンク、調理台、コンロがL字型に配置されたレイアウトです。ワークトライアングルを作りやすく、動線をコンパクトに抑えることができます。
  • アイランドコの字型キッチン
    アイランドコの字型キッチンは独立型コの字型キッチンとも呼ばれ、シンク、調理台などを壁面から独立させて設置するレイアウトです。調理台を囲むように作業ができるため、家族や友人など複数で楽しみながらキッチンを共有できます。ホームパーティーや料理教室をする際にも便利でしょう。
  • ペニンシュラコの字型キッチン
    ペニンシュラは英語で「半島」を意味します。コの字型キッチンの左右どちらかが壁に接しているレイアウトを指します。調理スペースがオープンになっているため、リビングやダイニングにいる方とコミュニケーションを取りながら調理できるというメリットがあります。

ビルトイン機器の選択

トランジショナルスタイルのコの字型キッチンタイプのレイアウト見直しと同時に、ビルトイン機器も検討されてみてはいかがでしょうか。 ビルトイン機器とは、建物や家具、設備などの中に組み込んで利用する機器を指します。システムキッチンには、ビルトインコンロ、レンジフード、オーブンレンジ、食器洗浄乾燥機を組み込むことが可能です。ビルトインであればスタイリッシュにコの字型キッチンに溶け込み、インテリアの邪魔にもなりません。新築やリフォームの際に取り入れることをおすすめします。
  • ビルトインコンロ
