A custom granite rolling backsplash becomes functional art for the combination dining room and living room. At a glance, it stands as a monolithic structure, and then almost effortlessly and magically, it rolls away to a reveal cabinet and spices, a jolting realizations that this is beautiful and not just for looks.

An expansive venthood was designed to balance this large transitional rustic kitchen. Copper panels play to the warm tones in the stone slab countertops while travertine clad walls lend texture to the room. with the help of Annette Jaffe Interiors, this new construction with a water view, took a transitionally cool edge. Client wanted a fresh look from the ubiquitous white cabinetry. Waterview window creates all the drama.

The Subzero refrigerator and freezer drawers are completely built into the fir cabinetry to create a seamless look. The dark paint enhances the beauty of the fir cabinetry (Benjamin Moore Mink).

Solid Quartzite Slab Backsplash with geometric pendants and hanging wall sconces set this kitchen apart. Grey stained cabinets with a Sub-Zero fridge that blends right in. The Kallista (Kohler) bridge kitchen faucet centers the long 4-seat island with suede tufted bar stools. The 36" red knobbed Wolf range cement this classic kitchen with a simple dry wall wrapped range hood.

When Amy and Brandon, hip 30 year old attorneys decided to look for a home with better outdoor living space, closer to restaurants and night spots, their search landed them on a house with the perfect outdoor oasis. Unfortunately, it came with an interior that was a mish mash of 50’s, 60’s and 70’s design. Having already taken on a DIY remodel on their own, they weren’t interested in going through the stress and frustration of one again. They were resolute on hiring an expert designer and contractor to renovate their new home. The completed renovation features sleek black cabinetry, rich ebony floors, bold geometric tile in the bath, gold hardware and lighting that together, create a fresh and modern take on traditional style. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry packs this modest sized kitchen with more cabinetry & features than some kitchens twice it’s size, including two spacious islands. Choosing not to use upper cabinets on one wall was a design choice that allowed us to feature an expanse of pure white quartz as the backdrop for the kitchens curvy hood and spikey gold sconces. A mix of high end furniture, finishes and lighting all came together to create just the right mix to lend a 21st century vibe to this quaint traditional home.

This kitchen shows a casual elegance but maintains it's vintage cottage design. Warm wood cabinets complimented by a green stained island support leather finished black Utatuba granite counters and splash. the T & G above the splash was retained to keep the feeling of the era. The added skylight brings light into a formerly dark kitchen. At night, it is lit by lineal LED lighting hidden around the perimeter of the skylight. Also adding to the sparkle and illumination are lights built into the overhead glass cabinets and under the overhead cabinets. Pendant lights with vintage LED bulbs light the island.
