The large island has loads of drawers and cabinets for additional storage space...not to mention the perfect spot for sampling whatever the cook is dishing up. An unfortunate water leak forced these homeowners to entertain a remodel of their kitchen. The previous kitchen had dark builder grade cabinets with little function and even less style. After some great exploratory conversations The words "classic, clean and functional" kept coming up. What's more classic then a white kitchen with marble? We didn't want the kitchen to appear sterile so we added dark grey cabinets for contrast and light grey counter tops to soften. Creating a focal point at the beautiful kitchen window and it's view were key. I tiled the whole wall in marble subway tile to really highlight the gorgeous natural stone. I used frosted glass in the cabinets so the light would come through, but the contents were still somewhat hidden. The butlers pantry tile has a geometric pattern for a bit more pop. The upper cabinet's decorative mullions are similar in style to the window cabinets. The homeowners like to cook and entertain so I packed a lot of function into the island. It houses the cook top with downdraft, spice pull out, knife/utensil pullout, and tray dividers. New bar stools and a dining set complete the look

Our light grey Open Plan kitchen brings a traditional design into the modern age. The bespoke, hand-painted cabinetry with carefully crafted curves gives the impression of lightness. This elegant design technique combined with a soft, contemporary colour scheme, encourages the natural movement of light throughout the room. Beautiful worktops flow seamlessly in a subtle ‘U’ shape from cooking area to island providing plenty of space to prepare food. A curved breakfast table separates dining space from work space in a contemporary manner that is a signature of Tom Howley design.

Our clients wanted to create an open plan kitchen/diner from two existing rooms in their already beautiful house. Building work was undertaken that would allow us to create a space that would incorporate our signature, handmade cabinetry and an almost three-metre island. Completed with Blue Mare granite, engineered oak flooring and appliances from Miele, Wolf and Quooker, this is a project that was a pleasure to work on, for clients that we loved working with.

The kitchen of the Windridge has ample storage in all the pot & pan drawers. We live the chunky pattern in the quartz counters too, it brings a lot of character to the space.

We squeezed a lot into this island. A lovely big wine rack - enough for 30 bottles. A wine fridge. A lot of storage. And some lovely bespoke trays. (On the opposite side of the island). Its a great place to sit and enjoy.
