This 1919 bungalow was lovingly taken care of but just needed a few things to make it complete. The owner, an avid gardener wanted someplace to bring in plants during the winter months. Popular from about 1890 through 1940, Tudor is characterized by steeply pitched roofs, massive chimneys, tall narrow casement windows and decorative half-timbering. Shingle’s hallmarks include shingled walls, an asymmetrical façade, intersecting cross gables and extensive porches. A masterpiece of wood and stone, there is nothing ordinary about Rookwood, which combines the best of both worlds. Once inside the foyer, the 3,500-square foot main level opens with a 27-foot central living room with natural fireplace. Nearby is a large kitchen featuring an extended island, hearth room and butler’s pantry with an adjacent formal dining space near the front of the house. We enlarged the openings to the Breakfast/ Family Room and the Sun Room without disturbing the structural walls. That added space for the bar seating the homeowner loved! The homeowners also raved about all the extra space we gained in the kitchen remodel by adding cabinet pantries that created more space for appliances, special glassware and dish collections along with food storage. To do this we removed pantry walls that wasted space. Notice the Travertine Countertops continue up the wall as a Backsplash! We then updated the main level living spaces with their belongings lovingly edited and decorated with attention to detail.

This gorgeous lake home sits right on the water's edge. It features a harmonious blend of rustic and and modern elements, including a rough-sawn pine floor, gray stained cabinetry, and accents of shiplap and tongue and groove throughout.

These rooms feature arch walkways, wall art, wooden dining room table, upholstered chairs, floral loveseat, flat hearth fireplace, vaulted ceilings, wooden sideboards, two rattan chairs, white cushions, striped throw pillows, branch lamp, and large floor length mirror. The rounded staircase and paneled wall in the foyer hall is outstanding! With a recessed furnishing niche the massive space becomes cozy! Metal ballusters and the ebony stained handrail carry your eye to the second floor bedrooms. Wide plank gray floors keep the space young.
