This family room provides an exciting ceiling scheme where several different angles converge into a rectangular bead board trim detail that brings the ceiling scheme together while adding some interest. The columns that die into a lowered soffit above serve to both add architectural detail while also separating the family room from the breakfast room space beyond. The gas fireplace provides ease of use and placing the flatscreen TV above keeps the room oriented to one location. Built in boxes above the TV add architectural detail while providing a place to display decorative items. A large wrought iron chandelier is the right scale given the vaulted ceilings and the volume that adds to a room. The decor is warm earth tones that help add a sense of coziness and helps offset the volume created by the ceiling height. Punches of color add energy. Not shown are a large window seat that is part of an additional seating pod and also a wall of french doors that lead directly to a covered and vaulted screen porch all along the back of the family room providing a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor space.
