Custom-made cabinetry is a significant investment and true space maximizer, and most of the time, it is worth every penny to be able to have the added convenience of roll-out drawers, adjustable shelves, integrated waste and recycling bins, flatware dividers, pot lid holders, soft-close hinges, etc.

The clients engaged Le Gourmet Kitchen to design a kitchen that complemented their Mediterranean Styled home. The key was to provide a setting conducive to cooking along with ample countertops for entertaining. The kitchen was small in comparison to the rest of the home so opening the kitchen to the family room created a Great Room and increased visual space. The existing floor plan still lacked the room to incorporate everything the clients requested. The original plan featured a walk in and Butler’s pantry adjacent to the kitchen. We integrated these areas to increase the square footage. This required removing a structural sheer wall and engineering a sizable steel beam with posts to carry the load. These were concealed inside the mantel hood and opposing pantry cabinets. The added space gave us the area needed to provide the family the kitchen they desired. The featured S/S and glass fronted appliances balance the environment, whilst the wood counters softens the room and provides a great food preparation surface. The seating area incorporates tambour doors, when opened reveal everything necessary to pay bills, do homework or select a recipe for tomorrow’s dinner. JEI Design collaborated with Shiflet Architects and Classic Constructors to build this home among the rising foothills of West Austin. Statement details in the custom-made furniture, rugs, and lighting fixtures are accentuated by the raw beauty of the exposed stone, dramatic archways, and antiqued wood beams. Lush fabric delicately adorns the furniture and creates a cohesive balance between modern and antique accents. With expansive views of the sweeping terrain of Austin, abounding natural light fills this home with an airy opulence.

This kitchen island backs up to a fairly narrow walkway, so seating was not an option, as stools would have been too tight. Instead we created 12 inch deep cabinets on the backside to house the owner's Le Creucet collection. For a seamless look, we left off any hardware. All other cabinets in this home have soft-close hinges, with the exception of these, since we chose to leave off the knobs.

A dream home in every aspect, we resurfaced the pool and patio and focused on the indoor/outdoor living that makes Palm Beach luxury homes so desirable. This gorgeous 6000-square-foot waterfront estate features innovative design and luxurious details that blend seamlessly alongside comfort, warmth, and a lot of whimsy. Our clients wanted a home that catered to their gregarious lifestyle which inspired us to make some nontraditional choices. Opening a wall allowed us to install an eye-catching 360-degree bar that serves as a focal point within the open concept, delivering on the clients' desire for a home designed for fun and relaxation. The wine cellar in the entryway is as much a bold design statement as it is a high-end lifestyle feature. It now lives where an expected coat closet once resided! Next, we eliminated the dining room entirely, turning it into a pool room while still providing plenty of seating throughout the expansive first floor. Our clients’ lively personality is shown in many of the details of this complete transformation, inside and out.
