A coffee bar with a small sink for guests and the upper glass front cabinets make it easy for guests to choose the correct cabinet to get their glasses. The beverage center also makes it easy for guests to take what they want while others are using the fridge.

This bespoke Shaker kitchen has been hand painted in an inspired colour choice, totally suited to the traditional style yet perfectly on trend and very individual. We love the pairing of the modern marble worktops and splashback with the rich and atmospheric ‘Minster Green’. The contrasts in colour and texture look stunning and the Aga range cooker looks properly at home in this classic setting. All the details have been carefully considered; the Armac Martin handles in Burnished Brass, the taps in Satin Brass and the Perrin & Rowe Belfast Sink all tap into the Victorian era yet the modern touches provide all the convenience without looking out of place. The bespoke dresser combines classic styling with modern touches to create a stand-alone piece of furniture that is perfect for displaying favourites pieces and family photos. Using the same paint colour and work top unifies the whole look. Moving into the spacious utility room, the bespoke cabinets (again, in a Layon Shaker style) but this time hand painted in Treron – another traditional colour but softer and accented with the pretty pink tiling. The run of tall cabinets and open shelving unit are designed to be functional in a room that needs different considerations than a kitchen. Together with the shelving and hanging hooks there’s a place for everything and everything has its place.

Residing in Philadelphia, it only seemed natural for a blue and white color scheme. The combination of Satin White and Colonial Blue creates instant drama in this refaced kitchen. Cambria countertop in Weybourne, include a waterfall side on the peninsula that elevate the design. An elegant backslash in a taupe ceramic adds a subtle backdrop. A young family moving from NYC tackled a makeover of their young colonial revival home to make it feel more personal. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and a banquette for breakfast. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by Benjamin Moore Ocean Floor on the island. Mixed metals on the lighting by Allied Maker, faucets and hardware and custom tile by Pratt and Larson make the space feel organic and personal. Photos Adam Macchia. The home had gone through an extensive renovation several years earlier that added a master bedroom suite and updates to the front façade. The kitchen however was not part of that update and a prior 1990’s update had left much to be desired. The client is an avid cook, and it was just not very functional for the family. The original kitchen was very choppy and included a large eat in area that took up more than its fair share of the space. On the wish list was a place where the family could comfortably congregate, that was easy and to cook in, that feels lived in and in check with the rest of the home’s décor. They also wanted a space that was not cluttered and dark – a happy, light and airy room. A small powder room off the space also needed some attention so we set out to include that in the remodel as well. See that arch in the neighboring dining room? The homeowner really wanted to make the opening to the dining room an arch to match, so we incorporated that into the design. Another unfortunate eyesore was the state of the ceiling and soffits. Turns out it was just a series of shortcuts from the prior renovation, and we were surprised and delighted that we were easily able to flatten out almost the entire ceiling with a couple of little reworks. Other changes we made were to add new windows that were appropriate to the new design, which included moving the sink window over slightly to give the work zone more breathing room. We also adjusted the height of the windows in what was previously the eat-in area that were too low for a countertop to work. We tried to keep an old island in the plan since it was a well-loved vintage find, but the tradeoff for the function of the new island was not worth it in the end. We hope the old found a new home, perhaps as a potting table. This gourmet chef’s kitchen uses Pro Style GE Monogram appliances; Double ovens, oversized built in refrigeration, a 48” pro gas range top, and sleek and concealed microwave. A farmhouse sink, a prep sink, and pot filler create ample opportunities for cooking and cleaning up together with family and friends. The white perimeter cabinets are contrasted with a grey color at the large island and custom wood hood. The shape of the island allows for diner to face each other for great conversations over great meals. The black and brass orb pendants offer a fun contrast and a visually interesting design feature. White and grey quartz counters give the look of marble without any of the maintenance. Artisan style ceramic grey hi gloss backsplash tile adds a layer of hand made appeal and allow light to bounce off from various angles and facets.

We opened this kitchen to a family room which we remodeled, gave the clients a new mudroom, sunroom, new screened room and kitchenette to be used when poolside. The style is a casual yet traditional kitchen featuring white cabinets, quartz counters and a designer glass backsplash. The use of weathered natural materials and blue/grey island creates a softness and yields a more livable space which can be hard to achieve with the use of white cabinetry alone. Their professional appliances and built-in appliance garage make this kitchen extremely functional for even the best of cooks. Finishing touches such as the fireclay farmhouse sink, the hand-hammered bar sink and a touch of crystal in the sconces provide just the right amount of sparkle.

The goal of this kitchen remodel was to create a more functional and enlarged kitchen because the owner is an avid cook. Expanding the available space for the kitchen involved moving the patio doors to the family room to access the backyard under a newly constructed porch roof. The owners stand at different heights and the goal of the overall kitchen design was to be a comfortable workspace for all the residents. They opted to eliminate upper cabinets, since they are hard to reach and instead incorporate tall pantry-style cabinets at the north wall, complete with a very important breakfast coffee, smoothie, and juice station that is "hidden" behind tuck-away doors. Every inch of the kitchen was considered to store all their essentials, including a designated spot for a step-stool. This kitchen design also incorporates double dishwashers. This self-described style is New Traditional with a West coast cool-casual with some east coast English antiques and that are reflected in the home elsewhere, The home also reflected a slightly French design style, so Factor Design Build aimed for a clean, classic, and timeless look with a custom Venetian plaster hood, Quartzite countertops, and inset cabinets. The view to the backyard was enhanced by flanking the hood with large windows. The clients felt that it was important that most-touched items be high-quality and unlacquered metal, so the cabinet hardware is by Ashley Norton, and the plumbing fixtures from Waterworks. The clients had a special affinity for the Chamonix quartzite for the countertops and splash.

This kitchen was designed with all custom cabinetry with the lower cabinets finished in Sherwin Williams Iron Ore and the upper cabinets finished in Sherwin Williams Origami. The quartzite countertops carry up the backsplash at the back. The gold faucet and fixtures add a bit of warmth to the cooler colors of the kitchen.
