This small house needed a makeover to be suitable for a family of four, therefore the original layout has been changed in such way that the hall entrance and kitchen are fully optimized spaces. We opted for a glass brick wall to let the light flow between the entrance and kitchen and maximize perception of space, on both sides. All furniture in the hall area and in the kitchen goes up to the ceiling in order to create extra storage space, whilst in the living room there is large storage space under the stairs, without taking any space from the room. What is left in sight is light, airy furniture in white and woody textures and a touch of green moss used as decoration.

Virginia AIA Honor Award for Excellence in Residential Design | This house is designed around the simple concept of placing main living spaces and private bedrooms in separate volumes, and linking the two wings with a well-organized kitchen. In doing so, the southern living space becomes a pavilion that enjoys expansive glass openings and a generous porch. Maintaining a geometric self-confidence, this front pavilion possesses the simplicity of a barn, while its large, shadowy openings suggest shelter from the elements and refuge within. The interior is fitted with reclaimed elm flooring and vertical grain white oak for windows, bookcases, cabinets, and trim. The same cypress used on the exterior comes inside on the back wall and ceiling. Belgian linen drapes pocket behind the bookcases, and windows are glazed with energy-efficient, triple-pane, R-11 Low-E glass.

Modern materials were chosen to fit the existing style of the home. Mahogany cabinets topped with Caesarstone countertops in Nougat and Raven were accented by 24×24-inch recycled porcelain tile with 1-inch glass penny round decos. Elsewhere in the kitchen, quality appliances were re-used. The oven was located in its original brick wall location. The microwave convection oven was located neatly under the island countertop. A tall pull out pantry was included to the left of the refrigerator. The island became the focus of the design. It provided the main food prep and cooking area, and helped direct traffic through the space, keeping guests comfortable on one side and cooks on the other. Large porcelain tiles clad the back side of the island to protect the surface from feet on stools and accent the surrounding surfaces.

Мы примерно понимали, какие будут использованы материалы (крашеный МДФ, ДСП), механизмы открывания, определились с количеством ящиков и т.д. В мае мы впервые выехали на объект, произвели замеры и установили, где конкретно будет размещаться техника, куда вывести розетки, уточнили место расположения “мокрой точки” - раковины с мойкой. Мы предложили сделать вентиляцию не на потолке, как это обычно бывает, а заложить в стене специальный короб, поскольку стена не является несущей, а была сконструирована из пеноблока во время ремонта. Это позволило нам добиться эстетического внешнего вида и полноценно использовать пространство в шкафах.

Private residence – Mayfair London Delighted to be commissioned by high end London based interior designer Lisette Voute to photograph the home of one of her Russian clients in this prestigious London neighbourhood. As time at the property was limited, and photographic lighting was limited, each of the images shown here were shot as multiple exposures, one shot exposed for highlights, one for mid tones and finally one exposed to capture shadow detail. These multiple exposures were then integrated in specialist software and output as interiors photographs containing the full range of highlight, mid tone and shadow detail. This modern waterfront home was built for today’s contemporary lifestyle with the comfort of a family cottage. Walloon Lake Residence is a stunning three-story waterfront home with beautiful proportions and extreme attention to detail to give both timelessness and character. Horizontal wood siding wraps the perimeter and is broken up by floor-to-ceiling windows and moments of natural stone veneer. The exterior features graceful stone pillars and a glass door entrance that lead into a large living room, dining room, home bar, and kitchen perfect for entertaining. With walls of large windows throughout, the design makes the most of the lakefront views. A large screened porch and expansive platform patio provide space for lounging and grilling. Inside, the wooden slat decorative ceiling in the living room draws your eye upwards. The linear fireplace surround and hearth are the focal point on the main level. The home bar serves as a gathering place between the living room and kitchen. A large island with seating for five anchors the open concept kitchen and dining room. The strikingly modern range hood and custom slab kitchen cabinets elevate the design. The floating staircase in the foyer acts as an accent element. A spacious master suite is situated on the upper level. Featuring large windows, a tray ceiling, double vanity, and a walk-in closet. The large walkout basement hosts another wet bar for entertaining with modern island pendant lighting. Walloon Lake is located within the Little Traverse Bay Watershed and empties into Lake Michigan. It is considered an outstanding ecological, aesthetic, and recreational resource. The lake itself is unique in its shape, with three “arms” and two “shores” as well as a “foot” where the downtown village exists. Walloon Lake is a thriving northern Michigan small town with tons of character and energy, from snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter to morel hunting and hiking in the spring, boating and golfing in the summer, and wine tasting and color touring in the fall.
