Before renovating, this bright and airy family kitchen was small, cramped and dark. The dining room was being used for spillover storage, and there was hardly room for two cooks in the kitchen. By knocking out the wall separating the two rooms, we created a large kitchen space with plenty of storage, space for cooking and baking, and a gathering table for kids and family friends. The dark navy blue cabinets set apart the area for baking, with a deep, bright counter for cooling racks, a tiled niche for the mixer, and pantries dedicated to baking supplies. The space next to the beverage center was used to create a beautiful eat-in dining area with an over-sized pendant and provided a stunning focal point visible from the front entry. By moving the exterior wall to the patio out two feet, we were able to create an open kitchen/dining/living space in perfect proportion for this mid-century style home. This extra space allowed us to transform the existing galley kitchen into a U-shape with a peninsula bar. The blue base cabinets pack a punch of color, while the white uppers and backsplash create a light and airy space that looks bigger than the actual square footage.

A great example of use of color in a kitchen space. We utilized seafoam green and light wood stained cabinets in this renovation in Spring Hill, FL. Other features include a double dishwasher and oversized subway tile.

Complete overhaul of the common area in this wonderful Arcadia home. The living room, dining room and kitchen were redone. The direction was to obtain a contemporary look but to preserve the warmth of a ranch home. The perfect combination of modern colors such as grays and whites blend and work perfectly together with the abundant amount of wood tones in this design. The open kitchen is separated from the dining area with a large 10' peninsula with a waterfall finish detail. Notice the 3 different cabinet colors, the white of the upper cabinets, the Ash gray for the base cabinets and the magnificent olive of the peninsula are proof that you don't have to be afraid of using more than 1 color in your kitchen cabinets. The kitchen layout includes a secondary sink and a secondary dishwasher! For the busy life style of a modern family. The fireplace was completely redone with classic materials but in a contemporary layout. Notice the porcelain slab material on the hearth of the fireplace, the subway tile layout is a modern aligned pattern and the comfortable sitting nook on the side facing the large windows so you can enjoy a good book with a bright view. The bamboo flooring is continues throughout the house for a combining effect, tying together all the different spaces of the house. All the finish details and hardware are honed gold finish, gold tones compliment the wooden materials perfectly.

‘Cappuccino’ brown and ‘Snow White’ high gloss lacquered handle-less doors by Störmer were used to create this recessed beverage/coffee/bar area directly across the main kitchen area and dining room, and is open to the family room below. A large tall pantry unit was added to provide additional food storage away from the main kitchen prep area. A floor to ceiling wine rack was built in a matching accent structured laminate. The wall glass units are made with black tinted glass, back-lit LED glass shelves, and integrated LED under-cabinetry lights. The deep pan drawers provide additional convenient access and storage to commonly used items. Mid Century Modern Renovation - nestled in the heart of Arapahoe Acres. This home was purchased as a foreclosure and needed a complete renovation. To complete the renovation - new floors, walls, ceiling, windows, doors, electrical, plumbing and heating system were redone or replaced. The kitchen and bathroom also underwent a complete renovation - as well as the home exterior and landscaping. Many of the original details of the home had not been preserved so Kimberly Demmy Design worked to restore what was intact and carefully selected other details that would honor the mid century roots of the home. This newly remodeled kitchen features semi-custom cabinets in two distinct kitchen; Aspen Oak and Pure White. The focal point is the Arabesque mosaic accent tile behind the hood. It sets the tone for this gorgeous masculine new space. Calacatta quartz counters were installed throughout the kitchen including the new waterfall peninsula.

The notch in the counter tops was designed to allow easy passage through the doorway to the formal dining room. We still wanted seating for the family to have a quick meal together or of course chatting with the cook as she preps the family meals. Photography by: Libbie Martin

Spanning 1,500 square feet with a kitchen, rooftop deck featuring a fire place + barbeque, two bedrooms and a living room, showcasing masterfully designed interiors. Each cottage is named after the islands in Newport Beach and features a distinctive motif, tapping five elite Newport Beach-based firms: Grace Blu Interior Design, Jennifer Mehditash Design, Brooke Wagner Design, Erica Bryen Design and Blackband Design.

A dated kitchen transformed into a stunning modern farmhouse style kitchen using custom cabinet refacing in a care-free, easy to clean white thermofoil and a unique "stepped" shaker style door. The countertops are SileStone Charcoal Soapstone Quartz in their Suede finish...the look and beauty of real soapstone without the worry of stains and discoloration. The homeowner chose oil rubbed bronze cabinet hardware and faucet. They completed this modern look with a copper farmhouse sink. The unique ceiling brings beautiful lighting to the space no matter what time of day. A touch of shiplap paneling on the back of the peninsula ties the rooms together. Up to date stainless steel appliances make this a kitchen for friends and family to gather together.
