Kristen is amazing. We did a whole house reno from out of state, and she finished the job within 4 months. I didn't think that was possible. We truly touched every surface, and she was on schedule with everything. We LOVE the results. After the construction part of the job was over, she then helped us decorate (furniture, decor, window treatments - you name it, she assisted). She "knows a guy" for everything you could ever need. I cannot recommend this company enough.

After interviewing 10+ contractors on Houzz, I decided to work with Kristen on my home renovation. The project is renovating all interior of a 5-bedroom house. Kristen is very professional and organized, always reply me quickly and friendly. We finished the project on time and on budget. And the end result is better than I expected. I really appreciate Kristen and David's great efforts.

THE BEST!! Kristen & David (and team) are phenomenal. They are so kind, professional, and talented. They do really high quality work, and Kristen's designs are beautiful. I feel totally at ease knowing that everything was done right (up to code, etc). We did a fairly large renovation and it was never stressful at all. They guide you through the whole process and they handle everything - it was an unbelievably easy process. Everyone that we worked with (electricians, project manager, Kristen/David) was so kind and fun to work with. I genuinely miss seeing them! I highly, highly, highly recommend Stringer Construction!!

We must have interviewed 10 contractors before finding the Stringers. They we're the perfect fit from the start with great ideas on what could be done the right way, a good friendly attitude and detailed pricing within our budget. We took our home down to the studs and completely renovated our 60s home. Of course we added a few things along the way, but there we no surprise costs and most importantly, we were able to move back in on time! Their work is top notch and can really see the quality compared to others we have seen. We love our new home so much and have enjoyed working with everyone who has been a part of the process. Kristen and David were the perfect fit for us. We needed a lot of patience, collaboration and creativity to make something of our very small, strangely laid out, 1960’s-built house that we’d purchased 10 years ago strictly for the backyard. We didn’t want to tear down and start over or add square footage, and we had felt stymied talking to other companies. Our outcome is incredible; the space feels twice the size due to layout and clean design. We have a completely modernized eat-in kitchen, walk-in pantry, free flowing living areas and roomy powder bath, all inside of 900 square feet. We didn’t impinge an inch on our beautifully treed lot! I let Kristen take the lead on choices for fixtures and finishes based on her experience of what works best, and I couldn’t be happier. She is an unbelievably good project manager and does it with a great sense of humor. A total redo of our downstairs was done in just over four months and we lived there the whole time, constantly apprised of next steps. Their guys are all super sweet and have worked for them a long time. The process wasn’t without headaches and hiccups, of course, because remodeling an old house is complex. But our conflict resolutions were always swift and respectful. We’re already planning our next project for whenever budget allows and look forward to working with them again.

Moving to Texas from out of state, we wanted to remodel our 1980's home all before we arrived: 2 1/2 bathrooms, flooring, cabinets, paint and kitchen. Kristen was extremely organized. We completed the remodel almost entirely remotely - and about 3-4 "power" trips to Dallas to choose tile, paint colors, etc. She also has a very good design aesthetic and we were able to even make remote decisions (with her guidance) when needed to keep the project going on schedule. She is also extremely practical and talked us out of some more expensive ideas that we had dreamt up because she felt we wouldn't really appreciate the difference (she was right). The thing that stands out most about Kristen and David is their sense of integrity. I have a lot of compassion for remodelers, because they often have to assume responsibility in places for things that aren't really their fault (hello, Dallas soil). Once you get into any remodel, there are ALWAYS unexpected surprises. There were a number of places that they could have nickel and dimed us, or got into a "change order" situation, but didn't. They always just made it right without hesitation. It is what I always imagined the Texas handshake to be. Even three years later (!), they stepped up to the plate to fix a problem that ended up being a major repair with no awkwardness or hesitation about it. You'd be hard pressed to find another company that stands behind their work like that. We love our house, it is exactly what we dreamed of.

Kristen and David were an absolute dream to work with! We remodeled the entire exterior of our home, gutted and remodeled the kitchen, and updated/painted most of the interior. Kristen's sense of design was completely in tune with what we had imagined. They were flexible and available throughout the entire project, even working around 3 (very curious) small children! They delivered a gorgeous final product and we will absolutely be working with them in the future!

These guys were the best value for money spent without question. Their employees were professional and did a great job. They delivered on what they promised and the jobsite was clean when they left you just don’t get that anymore, awesome contractor.

Kristen and David just finished our upstairs remodel and I highly recommend them for all your remodeling needs! We're in an older house, which always presents quirks and challenges; nothing is ever plumb and random wires and ducts everywhere. All of this was no problem thanks to their depth of experience. The project entailed separating an awkwardly arranged jack and jill bathroom into two independent, separately styled bathrooms for our teenage son and daughter. In the kids' bedrooms, one wall in each was shifted and closets were added or enlarged to solve our lack of storage problem. All new paint and carpet too and electric trim out. We are all thrilled with the outcome, which looks like new construction inside, not a 1949 house! I really appreciated the team's problem solving skills, communication, attention to budget, trustworthiness and flexibility. I chose this team based on their prior projects and also Kristen's design background. Kristen saved me hours of shlepping around to suppliers by providing a selection of vetted tiles and material samples. She had fantastic recommendations on everything from paint colors to plumbing fixtures to door knobs. The kids now have a beautiful, customized, highly-functioning space with lots of privacy and storage!

We just finished our second project with Stringer Construction and Design and we are so pleased with the results. Our project was finished within our budget and on time. They are great communicators - completely transparent about progress and timeline. They are also very knowledgeable about the homes in our area. Kristen gives great guidance on structure, finishes, etc.-after completing our first remodel project with them, we were comfortable deferring to them on many of the decisions for our second!

We had an incredible experience working with Kristen and David. We purchased our 1970s original home in 2018 knowing that we wanted to renovate. After meeting with Kristen and David, we immediately knew that they were the team we wanted to do our renovations with. For this renovation, we specifically renovated our kitchen and replaced the floors throughout the house. And they instantly caught our vision. They were able to make meaningful suggestions to add to the quality of the renovation. They were confident in a way that is very reassuring with such a large financial investment. And I really appreciated how respectful of and transparent they were with our budget. The renovation process itself was as enjoyable as I can imagine a renovation could be. Kristen’s management was so impressive (and a relief). I could rely on her to lead the project and bring our vision to life. All of her team members that we met were very professional. Kristen was incredibly accommodating of our desire to stay in our house as much as possible throughout the renovation—and she and her team were very gracious towards our dog. Additionally, Kristen was incredibly responsive. She immediately addressed all of my questions (and there were a lot of them!) and concerns with quality answers and resolutions. She went above and beyond to meet any additional requests I had (such as switching out light fixtures or doorknobs, among many other things). My favorite part about working with Kristen was my ability to rely on her design expertise. I asked to bring me two to three options for any finish decisions I had to make, and she did just that. The ability to rely on and use her background in design is invaluable. Just look at her project pictures—her expertise speaks for itself! Ultimately, the finished result of our renovation exceeded our expectations. Everything was done to the highest quality (as a quick example, Kristen’s team essentially repainted our whole house because she refused to compromise on quality, and it was obvious our previous contractor had done a patchy paint job). And the process was surprisingly convenient! Importantly, we stayed within budget. We are so happy with our decision to work with Kristen and David. And we will absolutely be using them for our bathroom renovations in the near future. We cannot recommend them enough!

I cannot say enough good things about this team. We bought a house in March of 2019 with the idea of performing some major renovations, but were a little lost on how to get started and the scope of the work required. Needless to say, we were nervous about selecting the right team for the job. We met with upwards of ten different contractors. However, within minutes of meeting with Kristen and David, we knew that we wanted to entrust them with our project. In our initial meeting, Kristen and David listened to what we wanted, and at the same time provided great suggestions and recommendations about how best to accomplish that vision. Within days of our initial meeting, Kristen provided us a detailed budget of everything so we knew exactly what to expect (the budget ended up being spot on when the project was finished). Their work product is fantastic, which I attribute largely to the quality of the subcontractors that they choose to work with. During visits to the house, we had chances to interact with many of the different subcontractors (from plumbers, electricians, cabinet makers), and every single one was exceedingly professional. With so many different groups working on a project, it was nice to know that Kristen and David selected the best of the best. They are also great on communicating during the project. When unexpected issues arose on the job, Kristen would call us immediately and not only inform us about the issue, but provide a solution or recommendations on how to solve it. And anytime we had questions or concerns, Kristen would make herself immediately available to talk them through with us. But what really this team apart is Kristen's eye for design and detail. She has a background in design, and it's evident. We had a general idea of how we wanted our spaces to look, and Kristen helped us execute that plan. She helped us choose and provided recommendations on everything from big things (like tile, counter tops, and paint color) to small things (like where to put the trash pull out in the kitchen). All the choices that have to be made on a project can get overwhelming, so her guidance made it so much easier. Overall, the finished product they delivered was above and beyond our expectations. We will be using them in the future for all of our future home projects.

Absolutely amazing team as they had to come into a half completed (poorly) job and finish it to the nines. David and Kristen worked on our three bathroom renovations and we are so happy with the results! Their crews were efficient and timely with their work. Kristen communicated with us each step of the way making sure we knew the timeline and what to expect . She asked lots of questions to make sure she understood our expectations and made great recommendations when we needed her help. Kristen and David were great to work with. They helped us finish out an 800+ ft unfinished attic space. They did an amazing job. We are very pleased with the results and found them to be fully trustworthy. We were rarely home while they completed this job; they were in and out all day without us around and we had no issues. We just completed a full renovation of our 1970s ranch in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas and couldn't be happier with Stringer Construction & Design. We really debated adding square feet or working with what we have. Thanks to Kristen's eye for design and David's construction expertise we saved a ton of money and made our house not only gorgeous and updated but extremely functional using our existing footprint. They both worked with us to come up with a plan that we would be happy with and ultimately result in a return on our investment. The project was completed on time and within budget and we have added so much value to our home while keeping with the aesthetic of the neighborhood. They are both very easy to work with and took on some tough mediation between me and my husband when we disagreed on things, which happened quite a bit and we can all laugh about now. I was impressed with Kristen from our initial meeting. She was very professional but also incredibly down-to-earth and a great listener. It was also important for me to be taken seriously since my husband was not interested in being part of planning the remodel and I spearheaded it myself. In the past I have had negative experiences with contractors not taking me seriously and talking down to me, but this was not the case with Kristen and David. Once construction began, I was impressed with her crew and how clean they left the job-site. Since we had to live in the home while the entire kitchen and laundry was renovated, it was very important to manage the amount of debris and dust that traveled to our side of the home. If i asked them for extra coverings over the doorways or openings, they were happy to oblige. Her crew was very professional and produced great quality work. The most valuable thing about this company is that they were easy to get a hold of. If I had any questions or concerns, they would always address it right away or on the same day. If they didn't have an answer for me right away, they would get back to me in a timely manner. They also helped me navigate the sometimes very stressful process of remodeling and aided in finalizing decisions about finishes. We can't say enough good things and plan on working with them again soon!

Stringer Construction & Design completely remodeled our entire home: new floors throughout, new paint on every inch, new doors, light fixtures, and a bathroom remodel. They were always cognizant of our budget and timeline. Kristen brought in samples and made suggestions on colors or finishes that were a better fit than my original selections. David and their crews were efficient and delivered all products with excellence. After our initial project, we approached them 6 weeks later for another small one for $8,000. Our family loves to entertain and we constantly get compliments on how beautiful it is!

We recently purchased a house that Kristen had renovated. We liked her work at the contemporary-style kitchen and invited her to remodel one of the bathrooms. She had a great taste and closely followed through every step of the project. It was on time and on budget. It also looked great! Later we uncovered a small scratch and she promptly addressed it. We definitely recommend her.

David and Kristen are fantastic contractors and a great team!! They make it all so easy. Kristen plans and directs the work and does a great job. ACCURATE estimates, timely work, assists with product selection and design. David and crew are exceptional. Very high quality work. We had them do guest bathroom, kids bathroom, and master bath. All were gutted and built new. Could not be happier! We also had them install wood floors, repair some windows and walls, paint and texture 5 rooms. Floors are beautiful! Painting excellent. We had them help us design a custom walk in closets for his and hers in the master bath. Gorgeous!! Better and cheaper than the closet designers. And if something happens that you don't like, they fix it until you are 100% satisfied. We will be using them again...and again! Thanks team Stringer!

I can't say enough about how wonderful it is to work with Stringer Construction & Design. I have worked with Kristen and David on several projects and from start to finish they have the vision, the professionalism and follow through to create a beautiful result. Not everything we had hoped for..the main issue was the painting by her contractors(twice)..we had the house cleaned by professionals and they had difficulty in getting the living room wood floor and furniture clean and were told that the fine sanding was the problem...later we discovered that the "paint mist" went through the AC and ruined the floor and furniture that was not covered. A Rubber hose used in the plumbing instead of PVC piping. Nice enough to work with, however, the quality of work is cheap. Would not use again.

My wife and I hired David and Kristen to install custom cabinets in our living room on two empty sides of our fire place. We did a dry bar on the left with hanging wine glasses, and glass doors on top that are lit. On the right side we did a bottom cabinet with some drawers and a floating shelf above it. I can't say enough about how happy we were. When I called around for estimates, cabinet makers would do the cabinets, then I had to find my own granite guy and electrician for the rest of the project. Not only did Kristen have all of the subcontractors, who did a great job and were very courteous, but she helped design it. My wife and I do not have good vision so after explaining to Kristen what we were looking for she went through a couple of designs until we found the one we wanted. We had a new house without any hardware in the kitchen, so David and his brother also installed hardware in our kitchen, bathrooms, and new cabinets in the living room. Kristen is very responsive. After the project was complete David came back and did some touch ups to complete the project. I can't say enough how happy we were working with Kristen and David. I did a lot of estimates so I can honestly say they are worth the price. Thank you David and Kristen.

Kristen and David did a complete kitchen remodel for me. I don't have a single complaint. Their timing and communication was flawless and the carftmanship impectible. Kristen held my hand through the process and gave great advice. There were no hidden fees and the project was completed in the amount of time they said. Stringer Designs is a well oiled machine. They strived to make me happy and my kitchen perfect. I would hire this company again in a heart beat.

Kristen and David completed a full bathroom remodel (pink 50's tile and all), and did custom window treatments for the bedrooms. They were very easy to work with and kept me well informed during the whole process. The contract was detailed about what was covered in the original quote and they updated my invoice with remaining costs any time I added an upgrade. Kristen has good taste and had some great space planning ideas. I could not add any space to the bathroom so we had to work with a long narrow space. The finished project is great and it totally changed the look of that room. I got a great updated shower and vanity, and the colors now coordinate with the rest of the house. The window treatments in my bedrooms are perfect and change the whole look of those rooms. I will definitely use them again for future projects.

David and Kristen were a pleasure to work with. Kristen brings her great taste to the project and David brings his construction expertise and you just know that you're in good hands with these two. Their communication was impeccable, which is so important in any construction project. I loved working with them and I look forward to working with them again!

Working with Stringer Construction & Design was an exceptional experience from beginning to end. Kristen (and Stringer Construction) is a one stop shop! Her design knowledge, combined with her familiarity with different construction crews made our experience seamless and enjoyable. She was prompt to respond to our questions and was always willing to conscientiously oversee the process. She was also very reasonably priced for the high quality of work that was delivered. We were in North Carolina during our project, and she put us at ease because of her communication, knowledge, and expertise.

In just 11 days Kristen Stringer of Stringer Construction & Design completely updated/remodeled our kitchen from ho-hum dark wood cabinetry and counter tops to glamorous white granite and backsplash and white-washed cabinets. Then she "staged" the rest of our home. We listed our house on Saturday morning with all the new photos and had 6 lookers and an asking price offer 48 hours later (and a backup offer over asking price shortly thereafter). She is so professional, friendly, flexible and creative. Now Kristen is helping me transition from our current "country French" house to a purely modern one. Surprisingly, Kristen is able to make sure we use much of our existing art and furniture in our new home. She is terrific! And then there's her husband, David, who handles the construction end of things. When our current house nearly failed inspection due to some structural problems in the attic, he was able to come over within 24 hours and make the repairs (which passed inspection by a building engineering firm). You would think they would charge a premium for being so timely in the remodel (11 days) and the attic repairs (less than 24 hours) but that is not the case. I believe they are very fairly priced and bring high quality to their work. I highly recommend Stringer Construction & Design and welcome any inquiries about them.

They were AMAZING to work with! Everything was planned out and executed in a timely manner...even when surprise hold-ups happened (change in delivery) they were upfront and honest, I never felt uninformed. The quality of work was exceptional, each crew that came through our house was respectful, on time and mindful of the fact we were still living in the space while the remodeling was happening. They stuck to the budget and were very upfront about costs for different items from the beginning. The best part is that you are getting two experts in one company; quality craftsmanship plus a designer that turns your vision into a reality. My wife and I hired Stringer Construction & Design to remodel our new home. We had a very tight timetable and a lot of work to be done in almost every room in the house. Kristen and David Stringer were very detailed in their bid and very honest in regards to the timetable. Their bid was competitive and the examples of their work as well as their solutions to our needs were impressive. The work included all new hardwood floors, reconstruction in the two major living areas and a new master bathroom. Also, each room was painted and the bedrooms received new carpet. When we moved into our new home, we knew we needed to make some changes. We contacted Stringer Construction & Design to help us with this. In our first meeting with Kristen, we knew she was the one for us. Her vision for our house was the same as ours and we loved all of her ideas. Here is a list of all of the things Stringer Construction & Design did for us: -Ordered, painted, and installed new doors on all of our kitchen cabinets (They turned out beautifully) -Dry-walled a closet-like opening in our kitchen to make it a full wall -Placed new baseboards and windowsills in our kitchen. David did an amazing job custom making our baseboards to make them work in our kitchen. -Replaced the existing stairs to the loft in the master bedroom with custom made hardwood stairs with a matching handrail -Dry-walled a half wall up in the loft -Painted the master bedroom after removing existing beams -Kristen personally helped us shop for all new furniture and that experience was the easiest furniture shopping we have ever done. There are many other things Stringer Construction & Design did for us throughout this whole process. Most importantly, everything was done beautifully and in a timely manner. Kristen was always just a phone call away and was always so happy and willing to help. We greatly appreciated David's need to do things perfectly and correctly the first time. We will definitely be calling Stringer Construction & Design for all other home projects we may decide to do in the future.
