Keith met this couple from Hastings at Grand Designs who stumbled upon his talk on Creating Kitchens with Light Space & Laughter. A contemporary look was their wish for the new kitchen extension and had been disappointed with previous kitchen plan/designs suggested by other home & kitchen retailers. We made a few minor alterations to the architecture of their new extension by moving the position of the utility room door, stopped the kitchen island becoming a corridor and included a secret bookcase area which they love. We also created a link window into the lounge area that opened up the space and allowed the outdoor area to flow into the room with the use of reflected glass. The window was positioned opposite the kitchen island with cushioned seating to admire their newly landscaped garden and created a build-down above. The design comprises SieMatic Pure S2 collection in Sterling Grey, Miele appliances with 12mm Dekton worktops and 30mm Spekva Breakfast Bar on one corner of the Island for casual dining or perching.

This beautiful penthouse kitchen in Battersea features a large L-shaped island that also incorporates a large structural pillar. The main kitchen sink is behind the pillar which creates some separation between the washing up area and the dining area. We paneled the pillar with Shaker-style panels that match the kitchen which works as a great place for the TV to be hung. The client does a lot of entertaining, so they have a separate bar area to the left of the kitchen. This kitchen features a large stainless steel Mercury cooker, white quartz worktops, and a mirrored splashback. The tall cabinets are painted in Lamp Black by Little Greene and the other cabinets in the classic French Grey, also by Little Greene.

We love how this stainless Mercury 1200 induction range blends in with the French Grey Shaker cupboards. This kitchen is in a penthouse with lots of natural light coming through. The antique mirror splashback by Saligo Design allows for the light to bounce back, creating a very fresh and bright feel to the space. The additional storage on the sides of the false chimney is perfect for having oil bottles and spices close to hand whilst cooking.

This bespoke dresser was installed in front of a window, so we wanted to have a glass back panel on the glass-fronted cupboards to let the light in. The kitchen has a lot of windows and natural light coming through, so we were not worried about putting the dresser here. The client's dining table was placed in front of the dresser, in perfect proximity to the breakfast area of the dresser with an integrated coffee machine and a place for a toaster, and cups & plates. We love the combination of the painted doors with the exposed walnut in the middle.

This bespoke dresser was designed based on our client's spec. They wanted lots of storage space, both for breakfast items and for crockery and glassware. This dresser was installed in front of a window, so we cleverly designed for the glazed cupboards to have a glass back panel to let the light in. This is one of our favourite features in this penthouse kitchen.

This combination of the French Grey painted cabinets and the round section on the island, painted in Lamp Black (both by Little Greene) go wonderfully with the walnut details in this kitchen. The curved walnut worktop matches the interior of the dresser as seen in the reflection in the mirror, and also with a bar unit that is to the side of the kitchen.

We love the additional storage on the cheeks of the false chimney. It's great for spices and oils. This kitchen features Shaker-style cabinets painted in French Grey by Little Greene, a Mercury 1200 induction cooker, and an antique mirror splashback by Saligo Design.

This penthouse kitchen combines lots of materials and finishes but it all comes together very well to create a calming space. We love the combination of the French Grey and Lamp Black Shaker units (Little Greene Paint Co) with the stainless steel appliances and walnut details here and there. There are two sinks, one larger Kohler sink as seen here by the structural pillar, and another smaller sink close to the Mercury range cooker.

This small utility in this Battersea penthouse has a Villeroy & Boch Belfast sink and an Abode tap. The handles are by Armac Martin and the Shaker cabinets are painted in Little Greene's French Grey.
