Newlyweds had just moved into their new home and immediately wanted to update their kitchen which is located in the center of the household, lacking any natural light source of its own. To make matters worse, the cabinets in place were dark red with black countertops. Not the picture of brightness they were looking for. To increase the amount of light reflected throughout the kitchen, we incorporated some of the following updates: 1. Replaced the solo ceiling light with 4 recessed cans 2. Updated the florescent undercabinet lights with new LED strips 3. Installed custom white cabinets topped with Silestone’s new Artic Ocean white countertops 4. Updated the dark glass pendants over the bar with larger, clear glass pendants that spoke more to the history of the home 5. Painted the walls a soft gray to compliment the palette The original kitchen layout was updated to eliminate the existing soffits and open the visual feel of the space. A large white farm sink now centers the natural wood bar area, inviting guests to sit and gather for ballgames and celebrations. This kitchen renovation was really marked by transforming the space as much as replacing the cabinets and appliances. Originally the kitchen cabinets ran all the way to the back of what now is the pantry, creating a very awkward dead end. By creating the pantry, we added a great deal of storage and were able to make this layout less like an abyss. We also used lighter cabinets and better lighting to make the space feel more elegant and open.

This kitchen was updated while bringing in our client’s love for France. We decided the best approach was an updated French feel while modernizing the kitchen with a new layout and sophisticated finishes. New GE Café appliances, granite countertops and custom cabinetry round out this inviting kitchen. Another twist: Moroccan pendant lights to add a touch of glamour to the otherwise neutral room. The existing laundry was converted into a laundry/butlers pantry. The pantry storage has been finished in 25mm gloss white melamine and features the same recessed strip handles as the kitchen. Spaces are allocated for the storage of wine and large platters.

The owners of this lovely 1960s ranch home were over living with an out of date and awkward kitchen, so they enlisted our help to bring their dream kitchen to life. Right off the bat we all agreed that is was best to keep with the era of the home with a sleek modern kitchen featuring slab door cabinets. Our clients also wanted to space to feel brighter and more spacious with room for entertaining friends and family. So we knocked down a wall, filled in an unused door, and shortened a window so we could wrap this kitchen and create an optimal working triangle. We selected a maple cabinet with a medium-light stain, a light neutral porcelain floor tile, bright white glass backsplash with a mid-mod feature tile, and a variety of lighting. To create a space perfect for entertaining, we added a small peninsula for barstool seating. Behind the cabinet doors and drawers are many storage features including a double bin pull-out trash can, full access roll-out trays, pull out base cabinet pantry, super-susan corner cabinet, a wall cabinet for the microwave, and a pantry/fridge enclosure with roll-out trays. The sunroom received a facelift that covered the exterior brick to hide the modifications of walling up a door and raising the window sill height. It also created the sense that this space is an extension of the home, not just an exterior sunroom. We addressed the awkward step into the sunroom and installed new tile flooring. We finished the space of with a warm gray paint and soft sheers. This was such a fun and exciting project!! Cheers to our lovely clients and their gorgeous new kitchen and sunroom.

The open layout and modern design kitchen made this 100 yr. old home feel extremely elegant. The custom herringbone floor design with the porcelain wood tile was a showpiece. The all white cabinets with carrera marble countertops went great with the grey glass back splash. The face of the bar was custom built but the raised paneling and Victorian corbels lent themselves to the period of the home.

A clean and masculine design with clearly defined angles reflects the architecture of the building. White cabinets on top brightens the room, while the rich dark floor is very grounding. The bamboo base cabinets gives needed texture and warm to the home. The ultimate in uniformity was achieved in the floor when the tile seamlessly meets the hardwood.
