Newlyweds had just moved into their new home and immediately wanted to update their kitchen which is located in the center of the household, lacking any natural light source of its own. To make matters worse, the cabinets in place were dark red with black countertops. Not the picture of brightness they were looking for. To increase the amount of light reflected throughout the kitchen, we incorporated some of the following updates: 1. Replaced the solo ceiling light with 4 recessed cans 2. Updated the florescent undercabinet lights with new LED strips 3. Installed custom white cabinets topped with Silestone’s new Artic Ocean white countertops 4. Updated the dark glass pendants over the bar with larger, clear glass pendants that spoke more to the history of the home 5. Painted the walls a soft gray to compliment the palette The original kitchen layout was updated to eliminate the existing soffits and open the visual feel of the space. A large white farm sink now centers the natural wood bar area, inviting guests to sit and gather for ballgames and celebrations. Our design team installed Adura MAX Vinyl plank floating floors across the entire first floor. The flooring color Dockside Boardwalk provided a more desirable look in both finish and wide plank. Modern vinyl floors look like wood, are more durable than wood, water proof, and easy to clean; which makes them perfect for this clients growing family. Fabuwood Cabinetry in the Cobblestone finish look sleek and pair nicely with the kitchens new tones. The large central island is filled with storage, seating, and countertop space. The New River granite countertops shine under all the new LED recessed and under cabinet lighting. A little painting spruce up and now the scene is set to finish with the homes new more current finishes and furnishing.

We opened up a wall between the kitchen and dining room and replaced a table with a seated peninsula (seated on two sides) which can double as a work station. Executive Sedona Flat Panel doors in Chalk and Cavalry paint. Counters are ice white granite.

This kitchen was refaced in white laminate recessed panel doors that have been glazed to highlight the decorative detailing on the doors. Conveniences such as two tip out trays, a trash roll out and three full extension roll out shelves have been added for further ease of use. A custom desk was built against one wall. This home in Playa Vista, Los Angeles, features a light and airy kitchen with a custom marble and limestone backsplash to the ceiling and white acrylic cabinets. The wood floors add texture and warmth to this space and the darker toned wood in the furnishings add depth and balance. The result is a transitional modern home reflective of the California Coastal lifestyle.

We found a granite slab that complimented the wood floor and we built the color palette around that. We opened the wall between the dining room and the kitchen, and updated the lighting and paint colors to make it a more special room to be in. We moved all the appliances around and improved the layout, flow and clearances. We also gave designated seating at the island and the peninsula so guests did not interrupt the cooks flow during meal preparation. The custom painted hood and the Blue Roma granite at the island and backsplash are a show stopper in the kitchen.
