Stunning open plan shaker style Bryan Turner Kitchen with metallic finishes makes the most of this barn conversion. Central island complete with preparation sink and plenty of worktop and storage space provide a practical and glamorous space.

This Transitional Farmhouse Kitchen was completely remodeled and the home is nestled on the border of Pasadena and South Pasadena. Our goal was to keep the original charm of our client’s home while updating the kitchen in a way that was fresh and current. Our design inspiration began with a deep green soapstone counter top paired with creamy white cabinetry. Carrera marble subway tile for the backsplash is a luxurious splurge and adds classic elegance to the space. The stainless steel appliances and sink create a more transitional feel, while the shaker style cabinetry doors and schoolhouse light fixture are in keeping with the original style of the home. Tile flooring resembling concrete is clean and simple and seeded glass in the upper cabinet doors help make the space feel open and light. This kitchen has a hidden microwave and custom range hood design, as well as a new pantry area, for added storage. The pantry area features an appliance garage and deep-set counter top for multi-purpose use. These features add value to this small space. The finishing touches are polished nickel cabinet hardware, which add a vintage look and the cafe curtains are the handiwork of the homeowner. This stunning Whitford family home underwent an extensive renovation which included the family kitchen space. Our designer Dominic worked alongside the customer's architect to design a kitchen that would thoughtfully compliment the style of the rest of the home, including high ceilings so they wanted to ensure that the space was optimised, both from a practicality perspective but also visually. The kitchen needed incredible attention to details with cabinet lines and finishing details. The black/fluted glass wall units tie in with black/glass joinery throughout the rest of the home and a stunning natural stone benchtop is a classy feature to the space. The kitchen included top of the range appliances , including: cool drawer, integrated fridge and an Ikon PITT gas hob.

Dove white cabinets perimeter with warm gray and black accents are tied in with the traditional and rustic ambiance in the rest of the home. The new large island will hold the kitchen sink while guests can sit on the other end and enjoy the views. The range and hood are now a focal point between the exterior windows. Barn doors were be added to the newly enlarged opening to the dining room.

All custom made cabinetry that was color matched to the entire suite of GE Cafe matte white appliances paired with champagne bronze hardware that coordinates beautifully with the Delta faucet and cabinet / drawer hardware. The counter surfaces are Artic White quartz with custom hand painted clay tiles for the entire range wall with custom floating shelves and backsplash. We used my favorite farrow & ball Babouche 223 (yellow) paint for the island and Sherwin Williams 7036 Accessible Beige on the walls. Hanging over the island is a pair of glazed clay pots that I customized into light pendants. We also replaced the builder grade hollow core back door with a custom designed iron and glass security door. The barstools were a fabulous find on Craigslist that we became mixologists with a selection of transparent stains to come up with the perfect shade of teal and we installed brand new bamboo flooring! This was such a fun project to do, even amidst Covid with all that the pandemic delayed, and a much needed burst of cheer as a daily result.

An island is a great way of adding additional storage and worktop space to your kitchen, and is also a lovely way of adding a pop of colour to your home! Hand painted in Mylands 'Morning Blue' with oak worktop and hand carved Butt & Bead panelling, this bespoke kitchen island adds to the country vibe of the kitchen, complemented perfectly by the glass display cupboards, custom made plate rack and stunning double Belfast sink.
