This lake side home was designed and built by Cresco Construction Limited just outside Halifax, Nova Scotia. The interior decorating was done by Kimberly Seldon Design Group out of Toronto. This picture shows the heated granite on steel main staircase with wrought iron balustrade and continuous brass hand rail. This is the view you are greeted with when you walk through the front door and is framed by six matching granite columns.

We were hired for Feng Shui, color consulting, and historic design advice on this charm filled 1920s condo in downtown San Mateo, California - in the Baywood District. The owner was planning to rent the condo out. We chose all the paint colors for specific Feng Shui reasons, but they were also historically appropriate for the building.

We are Dexign Matter, an award-winning studio sought after for crafting multi-layered interiors that we expertly curated to fulfill individual design needs. Design Director Zoe Lee’s passion for customization is evident in this city residence where she melds the elevated experience of luxury hotels with a soft and inviting atmosphere that feels welcoming. Lee’s panache for artful contrasts pairs the richness of strong materials, such as oak and porcelain, with the sophistication of contemporary silhouettes. “The goal was to create a sense of indulgence and comfort, making every moment spent in the homea truly memorable one,” says Lee. By enlivening a once-predominantly white colour scheme with muted hues and tactile textures, Lee was able to impart a characterful countenance that still feels comfortable. She relied on subtle details to ensure this is a residence infused with softness. “The carefully placed and concealed LED light strips throughout create a gentle and ambient illumination,” says Lee. “They conjure a warm ambiance, while adding a touch of modernity.” Further finishes include a Shaker feature wall in the living room. It extends seamlessly to the room’s double-height ceiling, adding an element of continuity and establishing a connection with the primary ensuite’s wood panelling. “This integration of design elements creates a cohesive and visually appealing atmosphere,” Lee says. The ensuite’s dramatically veined marble-look is carried from the walls to the countertop and even the cabinet doors. “This consistent finish serves as another unifying element, transforming the individual components into a captivating feature wall. It adds an elegant touch to the overall aesthetic of the space.” Pops of black hardware throughout channel that elegance and feel welcoming. Lee says, “The furnishings’ unique characteristics and visual appeal contribute to a sense of continuous luxury – it is now a home that is both bespoke and wonderfully beckoning.”

以前の玄関は物に溢れ返り散漫な状態だったので、整理して簡潔な空間に改造しました。また土間床レベル全体を嵩上げすることで土間から１階床面への上り下りを容易にしました。土間には優しい色合いの天然石を敷き詰め目地幅を大きく取って骨太のデザインとしました。照明は小梁と小梁の間を光天井とした間接照明とし式台下部にも間接照明を仕込みました。

Tutto il fascino di una dimora storica edificata a metà del XV secolo, viene esaltato dalla perfetta sintesi tra passato e arredi di design dai colori profondi e decisi.

玄関から続く土間収納。土間はテラコッタ風のタイルを使い、壁・天井は左官仕上げです。垂れ壁に丸みをつけて、南欧風の雰囲気をＵＰしました。

The entryway was completely refurbished. Three high accent windows were included to add natural light. The existing beams, previously hidden with drywall, were exposed, stained, and hand-hewned to unify the Spanish theme throughout the home. Photography by Studio 101 West.
