Maraya Interior DesignNew Moroccan Villa on the Santa Barbara Riviera, overlooking the Pacific ocean and the city. In this terra cotta and deep blue home, we used natural stone mosaics and glass mosaics, along with custom carved stone columns. Every room is colorful with deep, rich colors. In the master bath we used blue stone mosaics on the groin vaulted ceiling of the shower. All the lighting was designed and made in Marrakesh, as were many furniture pieces. The entry black and white columns are also imported from Morocco. We also designed the carved doors and had them made in Marrakesh. Cabinetry doors we designed were carved in Canada. The carved plaster molding were made especially for us, and all was shipped in a large container (just before covid-19 hit the shipping world!) Thank you to our wonderful craftsman and enthusiastic vendors!

北野彰作建築研究所数寄屋建築真壁造りでは断熱などの性能が著しく低いので数寄屋の痕跡を消し去り、大壁工法として高性能断熱材を充填しました。２階の廊下に繋がる吹抜けはそのまま残すも天井ルーバー、間接照明、で雰囲気を一新、新しい和モダンの空間に造り替えました。

北野彰作建築研究所３枚の建具を経てやっと室内に繋がる玄関ホールに入れます。扉位置は一直線に通っていて扉を開けると玄関に居てアプローチの前庭の緑豊かな植栽を眺めることが出来ます。一番奥の木塀がアイストップになっていて道路側からのプライバシーを保護しています。
