The kitchen in this Brooklyn brownstone was gut-renovated to reveal the home's original brick cooking hearth—which was fashioned into a beverage station/home office area with a marble slab forming the tabletop. We continued the marble on the countertops and created a waterfall kitchen island that easily seats 3 for informal dining. Antique brass and matte black accents provide contrast. Appliances are stainless steel. Textured ivory and white custom cabinetry by Semihandmade also feature. An antiqued mirrored-tile backsplash adds visual interest and makes the kitchen seem larger.

This amazing, U-shaped Memorial (Houston, TX 77024) custom kitchen design was influenced by the "The Great Gatsby" era with its custom zinc flared vent hood with nickel plated laminate straps. This terrific hood flares in on the front and the sides. The contrasting finishes help to add texture and character to this fully remodeled kitchen. This hood is considerably wider than the cooktop below. It's actually 60" wide with an open back splash and no cabinets on either side. We love to showcase vent hoods in most of our designs because it serves as a great conversation piece when entertaining family and friends. A good design tip is to always make the vent hood larger than the stove. It makes an incredible statement! The antiqued, mirror glass cabinets feature a faux finish with a furniture like feel. The large back splash features a zig zag design, often called "chevron pattern." The french sconces with nickel plated shades are beautifully displayed on each side of the gorgeous "La Cornue" stove adding bling to the kitchen's magnificence and giving an overall elegant look with easy clean up. Additionally, there are two (2) highbrow chandeliers by Curry & Company, gives the kitchen the love needed to be a step above the norm. The island bar has a farmhouse sink and a full slab of "Fantasy Brown" marble with seating for five. There is tons of storage throughout the kitchen with plenty of drawer and cabinet space on both sides of the island. The sub-zero refrigerator is totally integrated with cupboards and drawers to match. Another advantage of this variety of refrigeration is that you create furniture-style cabinetry. This is a truly great idea for a dateless design transformation in Houston with raised-panel cupboards and paneled appliances. Polished nickel handles, drawer pulls and faucet hardware complete the design.

Lots of light cabinet finishes, including the matching panels on the refrigerator allowing it to blend and have the pendants, paint, tile and granite sing the song or draw the eye. The skylights provide soft even light throughout the space. The warm rust wall paint, island cabinets and pendants contrast nicely with the light wood cabinets and floor.

An updated classic Shaker kitchen remodel with modern flourishes, including stone countertops, telescoping range hood, double convection ovens, flush-mount electric stove top, ceiling height cabinets, new oak flooring, recessed lighting, and new French door entry.

This kitchen is nothing short of bold sophistication overflowing with playful elegance from gold accents to the glistening crystal chandelier above the island. We took advantage of the large window above the 7’ galley workstation to bring in a great deal of natural light and a beautiful view of the backyard. Between the warm tones of light flooring and the light whites and blues of the cabinetry, the kitchen is well-balanced with a bright and airy atmosphere. In a kitchen full of light and symmetrical elements, on the end of the island we incorporated an asymmetrical focal point finished in a dark slate. This four drawer piece is wrapped in safari brasilica wood that purposefully carries the warmth of the floor up and around the end piece to ground the space further. The wow factor of this kitchen are the geometric glossy gold tiles of the hood creating a glamorous accent against a marble backsplash above the cooktop. This kitchen is not only classically striking but also highly functional. The versatile wall, opposite of the galley workstation, includes an integrated refrigerator, freezer, steam oven, convection oven, two appliance garages, and tall cabinetry for pantry items. The kitchen’s layout of appliances creates a fluid circular flow in the kitchen. Across from the kitchen stands a slate gray wine hutch incorporated into the wall. The doors and drawers have a gilded diamond mesh in the center panels. This mesh ties in the golden accents around the kitchens décor and allows you to have a peek inside the hutch when the interior lights are on for a soft glow creating a beautiful transition into the living room. we dressed up the kitchen and bar area by adding glass tile to the back splash to finish the space and add some glam to it. Then we added a porcelain tile to the wall to add a new texture and depth to the space. A new dining pendant over the table adds some sparkle and to rid ourselves of the builder spec.

The true success behind this kitchen is the design and the way each detail flows with another. There are five different finishes with five different materials, yet all these elements combine in such harmony that entering the room is like walking into a work of art. Design details were incorporated to bridge the gap between the traditional nature of the building with the more contemporary functionality of a working kitchen. The Sub Zero & Wolf appliances, whilst not only fabulous in purpose, look sensational. The Solid American black walnut worktops of the island remind you of the beautiful natural materials that play a big part in this kitchen. Mesh centrepieces to the shaker doors demonstrate the transition between classic and contemporary.
