This living room design is best appreciated when compared to the frumpy "before" view of the room. The lovely bones of this cute bungalow cried out for a "refresh". This tall couple needed a sofa that would be supportive . I recommended a clean lined style with legs to open up the rather small space.The minimalist design of the contemporary swivel chair is perfect for the center of the room. A media cabinet with contrasting white and driftwood finishes offers storage but doesn't appear too bulky. The marble cocktail table and faux bois end tables add a nature inspired sense of elegance.

Seriously cool... This room was dank and dark and the homeowners didn't even use it! We like the industrial look of the exposed ductwork but we needed to brighten the space so it got a coat of white paint when we did the ceiling. The show stopper of course is that fireplace! We used Benjamin Moore - Gentleman's Gray (which is not gray at all!) but a rich deep turquoise and it makes the 1970's brick fireplace a stand out.

Originally the living room was sectioned off by a large wall with storage closets and the fireplace. The redesigned fireplace creates a stunning focal point and provides continues the open floor plan. Der vorher sehr dunkle Wohnbereich wird komplett umgestaltet. Durch die Vergrößerung der Fensterfront fließt nun deutlich mehr Tageslicht in den Raum. Der Boden wird aus Eichenparkett gestaltet. Einen bewußten Kontrast dazu setzt die Akzentwand in petrol auf der sich die weißen Möbel gut abheben. Die schwarzen Ledersitzmöbel runden den Bereich perfekt ab.

Client wanted to showcase her collection of original watercolors. GSB Designs created a feature wall to highlight the artwork. We also provide a small reading niche by the window to view her beloved koi pond and take in the beauty of the backyard. The result is an open, easy, and dynamic space to entertaining or just relax!

After that, everything else will fall perfectly into place. The focal point of a room is the place where the lines of the room meet. Since our eyes tend to naturally follow lines, this will be the place that our attention will first be drawn to in a room. Since our eyes follow the lines in a room, the furniture and activity in a room will usually revolve around the focal point. So what do you do with a room that doesn’t have a focal point? You create one! Creating a fabulous focal point in a room is a great way to reenergize a space. Creating a focal point is also a great way to take the focus off of the less attractive features of a room.
