This well used but dreary bathroom was ready for an update but this time, materials were selected that not only looked great but would stand the test of time. The large steam shower (6x6') was like a dark cave with one glass door allowing light. To create a brighter shower space and the feel of an even larger shower, the wall was removed and full glass panels now allowed full sunlight streaming into the shower which avoids the growth of mold and mildew in this newly brighter space which also expands the bathroom by showing all the spaces. Originally the dark shower was permeated with cracks in the marble marble material and bench seat so mold and mildew had a home. The designer specified Porcelain slabs for a carefree un-penetrable material that had fewer grouted seams and added luxury to the new bath. Although Quartz is a hard material and fine to use in a shower, it is not suggested for steam showers because there is some porosity. A free standing bench was fabricated from quartz which works well. A new free standing, hydrotherapy tub was installed allowing more free space around the tub area and instilling luxury with the use of beautiful marble for the walls and flooring. A lovely crystal chandelier emphasizes the height of the room and the lovely tall window.. Two smaller vanities were replaced by a larger U shaped vanity allotting two corner lazy susan cabinets for storing larger items. The center cabinet was used to store 3 laundry bins that roll out, one for towels and one for his and one for her delicates. Normally this space would be a makeup dressing table but since we were able to design a large one in her closet, she felt laundry bins were more needed in this bathroom. Instead of constructing a closet in the bathroom, the designer suggested an elegant glass front French Armoire to not encumber the space with a wall for the closet.The new bathroom is stunning and stops the heart on entering with all the luxurious amenities.

The layout of this bathroom was reconfigured by locating the new tub on the rear wall, and putting the toilet on the left of the vanity. The wall on the left of the existing vanity was taken out.

The client brought her personality within this guest toilet with bold chosen colours and a bright and colourful wallpaper, making feature of the back wall.

Both the master bath and the guest bath were in dire need of a remodel. The guest bath was a much simpler project, basically replacing what was there in the same location with upgraded cabinets, tile, fittings fixtures and lighting. The most dramatic feature is the patterned floor tile and the navy blue painted ship lap wall behind the vanity. The master was another project. First, we enlarged the bathroom and an adjacent closet by straightening out the walls across the entire length of the bedroom. This gave us the space to create a lovely bathroom complete with a double bowl sink, medicine cabinet, wash let toilet and a beautiful shower.

These young hip professional clients love to travel and wanted a home where they could showcase the items that they've collected abroad. Their fun and vibrant personalities are expressed in every inch of the space, which was personalized down to the smallest details. An updated master bathroom in a vintage 1900 cottage. The plinth based freestanding tub gives an original vintage feel to the room and the modern glassed-in shower adds 21st century amenities with a corner bench, rain shower head, hand held sprayer, and matching decorative grab bars providing safety features. Although the tile looks like marble it is actually easy care porcelain. Cabinetry and beaded wainscoting was designed to look original to the period and all moldings were matched to the homes original. Kids bathrooms and curves. Toddlers, wet tiles and corners don't mix, so I found ways to add as many soft curves as I could in this kiddies bathroom. The round ended bath was tiled in with fun kit-kat tiles, which echoes the rounded edges of the double vanity unit. Those large format, terrazzo effect porcelain tiles disguise a multitude of sins too. A lot of clients ask for wall mounted taps for family bathrooms, well let’s face it, they look real nice. But I don’t think they’re particularly family friendly. The levers are higher and harder for small hands to reach and water from dripping fingers can splosh down the wall and onto the top of the vanity, making a right ole mess. Some of you might disagree, but this is what i’ve experienced and I don't rate. So for this bathroom, I went with a pretty bombproof all in one, moulded double sink with no nooks and crannies for water and grime to find their way to. The double drawers house all of the bits and bobs needed by the sink and by keeping the floor space clear, there’s plenty of room for bath time toys baskets. The brief: can you design a bathroom suitable for two boys (1 and 4)? So I did. It was fun!

The natural light that the existing transom style windows provide into the space, were being under utilized. By expanding the shower space and having two sides wrapped in custom glass the light now reaches every corner of the bathroom and makes the larger footprint shower much more comfortable and enjoyable to use. By upgrading to a custom tiled curb-less shower floor, the whole space also appears larger while providing barrier free accessibility.
